so I hadn't worked out in a few weeks and returned to the gym this week and I see a new sign in the changeroom "the taking of photo's in changerooms is totally prohibited"
so I asked the staff did something happen to cause this
apparently some guy was taking a "selfie" which included a naked guy in the background
now, ive never taken a selfie but im pretty sure the person taking the pic will clearly see if there is someone in the background
im thinking it was a homosexual trying to take pics of the naked guy, the gym I train @ wound be about 70 % homosexuals
anyone hear of this sort of occurrence before?
-
navy mike's precontest pics included some dude picking a wedgie from his skivvies.

No I haven't. Have you considered that the fellow was so concerned with his own image he didn't notice the naked guy?
-
I haven't seen anyone taking pics in the locker room recently but that schmoe with the chick on the leg press last week was creepy. The Star Wars nerdy type with his buddy filming and I could see the people behind and around the woman being filmed on his screen.
Not very cool to do that, if you do, at least try and hide it?
-
i see it about 50% of the time now. Idiots. Generation selfie all that way.
it used to be, if you wanted a pumped selfie, you scurried into the lockable stall, snapped on silent, and got out of there. This shit with selfies in bath towels while dudes are next to you washing hands... that's a punchable offense.

Welcome to today's world. There is no such thing as anonymity or privacy any more.

It's getting out of control. That is crazy. People are becoming so self absorbed that they are not considering others around them.

I've been training for over 30 years... I would NEVER take a shower or get naked in a gym locker room, especially today with these selfie morons taking pics everywhere.
-
A Chick once told me that selfies are for girls anyway
WoooSSHHHHHHHHHHHH

Taking a selfie in a loaded lockerroom = a sociopath. Likely this person is a sociopath of some degree. Would love to see some actual studies and research on this phenomenon

Its a private organization. Freedom of speech/expression is limited once you enter a private organization and have to abide by their rules.
If people don't like it, they can find another gym.

Exactly. Pinning that one on the U.S. makes zero fucking sense.

I did that once. How friggen' awkward. Only because there was not hot water at my place...
I arrive at the gym already in gym clothes, I don't even take off my shirt there.

Not an American phenomenon either.

It's rude to take photos where other folks who might not want to be photographed could accidently be in the background. That being said, if I were in a locker room naked and someone took a selfie with me in their photo, I wouldn't give a shit. Locker rooms are meant for changing clothes. Being naked for a few seconds or even minutes for those who shower is no big deal. I prefer to shower at home where the shower is cleaned to my standards.
-

True, but they started this trend and facilitated it with 'social' media.

Hmm, seems to me Asians have long been actively taking photos everywhere they go. Maybe they were the folks who started this trend.
I get that the issue here is that in a locker room someone is likely to be naked and get caught in a photo....no big deal really, but taking photos of strangers without their permission either dressed or naked, by accident or not, is wrong.
-

The best way to end this locker room selfie is to photo bomb them with a hairy crack pose...not that I'd do it :D
-
you can only imagine how many Terabytes of swinging dicks and gaping assholes that douche has that films Jason Genova as his daily grind

Americans started the trend of taking pictures of themselves?
Check prime's post....

Stay on guard when you drop the soap. ;D
I also prefer my clean shower/bathroom to some scummy gym shower.

Asians are known of taking pictures of tourist places, but did they started this selfie trend? I'm not so sure of that.

True LOL, but after some 'wikivestigation' (for what's worth it), I found out that the first self-portrait was made by an American,
Robert Cornelius, an American pioneer in photography, produced a daguerreotype of himself in 1839 which is also one of the first photographs of a person.

Probably not so much of a problem at the gym I go to. The showers are individual not communal. Of course leaving the shower curtain open could be construed as an invite. ;)
