when the beef isn't on Juruth is. Juruth and the beef have the same writing styles and the same lame ass jabs. TA disappears for a week or two at a time then suddenly you have post after post with similar style as Juruth. Feel free to add to this.
BTW, someone emailed me said he swears THE BEEF is TA but since I have the BEEFS personal info including phone # I'm a bit skeptical.

Define uneducated.hahahaha. Pompous ass.
You are uneducated, there define.
I.e, you have no real education and think it is an insult to say someone is working on their PhD. ::)

I think you are grasping at straws here Coach. Those three guys don't really have the same posting style at all.
May I suggest a more formal analysis e.g. see below?

You can't even define uneducated you dumb fuck. Did I drop out elementary school, Jr. High? High school? What? I went to college? Fell six months short of my degree. Fortunately i didn't go back and decide to be a career student in my early thirties, intern and finally get a job at 40. So define it asshole. BTW, your pompous ass just put down every tradesmen on here who works 10 x's harder and probably make a better living than someone with a PHd. Take your PHd and shove it up your ass. Get some fucking experience at whatever you're getting that degree in for about 5 year after then you can talk shit. In the mean time shut the fuck up.
And oh, have fun paying off student loans until you're 60.

You will often get this from people who have something against people with advanced levels of education. Seems strange that people would really care or get mad.
I don't care if people have trades or skills (blue collar). My pops and brother are blue collar workers (Truck driver and works with gas lines). Both make a good living.
Yet, you have people all the time say, "People with less education make more than a PhD, blah, blah, blah." I didn't go for my Doctorate because I wanted to make more money than a truck driver. I chose to go for a Doctorate because I love my field. Most people that go for advanced degrees do not become rich. They go for those degrees because it affords them certain opportunities in their field, which may or may not translate into a lot of money.
But still, on AVERAGE, college educated people make more than people with less education or no college. OBVIOUSLY, this does NOT apply to every care, that is why its on AVERAGE!
I think people with lesser or no college feel good about themselves when they say, "Person X has no education and makes more than you or works harder." Okay, great, I really don't care. I mean, do they think they are putting us down? ??? ??? ???
Plus, its almost impossible to say who works harder, as that is subjective. Money is objective, obviously. Even with money, time, etc, Id still do it all over again!

Wrong again. I don't have any problem with people that advance to higher education. I have a problem with the ones that boast about it as if they're somehow better than everyone else. That's my problem.

Is the education relevant to financial compensation? Is there a strong demand for the expertise? I know a few people who stayed in school for almost a decade and got their doctorates. One became a priest, the other a high school history and English teacher. I took several criminology courses out of interest as a student decades ago. The profs (doctors) teaching them didn't know shit, although I didn't realize that at the time. I laugh at people who try to be academics and analyze things when they have no field experience and no idea about the processes involved. I have a decent job, and it had nothing to do with my degree. Looking back, my degree was just a reason to delay going out into the real world.

Most PhDs don't make anywhere near that kind of money though. Your average 60-something full professor at a public university is probably making in the ballpark of $150,000 if they are lucky.

There are bad people in every field. There are shitty professors. I guess you fail to mention the thousands and thousands of things that have been invented by people with PhD or MD's?
You also do realize that degrees that are APPLIED degrees, you get field experience while going to classes. Its not one or the other.

It more like 110k here in Canada, depending on which instatuition and if tenured or not. However keep in mind many profs consult or practice out side of their a academic comitments

There are a shitload of PH.D's out there, and not that many tenured prof positions. If your PhD is in something arts related, teaching at some level may be one of the few options.

That is why I am glad my Doctorate is also in an applied field. I can be a researcher or professor, but I dont have to be and can make my living in the applied section.
It is tough getting your doctorate in something like History, because you really are only limited to teaching/research.

I am not doubting that many academics have made great contributions to this world. The whole point of the post was financial compensation vs education. Yes I am aware of co-op programs. My pharma company stopped co-op as the students would fuck up the easiest tasks, and be gone once they were somewhat trained. Even after several co-op terms. Of course they are exceptions but most co-ops don't involve hands on core duties in many fields. My criminology profs taught us about policing but none of them had ever done more then a few ride alongs and knew f-all. I'd rather have been taught by a cop.

I was an engineering major whilst chasing hatchet-wounds as an undergrad. We built things, learned how to build things, operated welders, heat exchangers, etc. But I guess this doesn't count as "experience" if it doesn't happen in the "real world" ???
Most of the engineers we have are assigned to run very critical projects with tight budgets, and deadlines. We have teams of trades under them that build things such as plumbers, electricians, steamfitters, HVAC guys, WFI guys, welders, refrigeration guys, ect. The focus is project management, and the teams from quality operations inspect the jobs, and validating them. From experience many engineers don't make good project managers, different skill sets. Many don't understand the processes involve. Real world experience is the key. The learning curve out of school is massive.

Not to run them but assist, learn the ropes, and hopefully run them in the future. The youngest engineers we hire usually have 5-10 years of relevant experience. Many don't make it. There is a difference between book smarts, and real world. Some guys have book smarts and can do the practical. The rare engineer goes far, running international projects.

Okay, so you hire people and after years of "real world experience" most of them are still fuck-ups at the job you're trying to get them to do?

Agreed. In an ideal world you would have experienced project engineers and tradesmen working with experienced quality operations people who could get it right the first time. The process is very complex. Of course i work in a medical production facility where vacines and drugs are being injected into babies so the parameters are very tight.

No ENO you see the problem is the engineers only have "book smarts".
It's a fairly common sentiment among those who never went to one that "college" amounts to reading books for four years.
