Excellent reproductions of WWII tank battles. Very well researched. The fucking Tiger tanks were beasts. The American Shermans were utter pieces of shit.

I really enjoyed the "final stand" battle scene. It was a little over the top (with how many Germans they killed in that scene) but you could see how they could have initially caught them by surprise.

Interesting

Surprised they let them use it in a movie.

They are not really portrayed as heroes.

Good film.  Violence was a bit over the top.

The ending was so far fetched. Typical Hollywood. Overall it was good.

The German 88mm main gun was such a game changer on the battlefield. If the Germans could have cranked out as many of them as the Soviets cranked out those T-34 tin cans, we would all be speaking German right now.

Probably in the top 2-3 war movies, exactly because it's not so 'historical'.

Thank the American and British Air Force for that.

If you live in America, no, Europe yes. I know you're probably just being a bit over the top.

That said, how bad would it have been....

Infantry won the European theater and 6-10 full tank divisions of Tigers could have cut up the 40 divisions of Soviet armor between Berlin and Moscow.

the german tank divisions were unstoppable

they ran out of fuel and had to abandon them

otherwise we would all be eating weizels

Attractiveness level of the average Continental female would be much higher today.

An unfortunate outcome.

Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them.  For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—comes not from the Father but from the world. The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever.

I found that scene very moving where Brad finally reveals his faith to the evangelical comrade.

I guess I'm on the other side of the fence on this one.

I thought the movie was far fetched, slow moving, and just dumb. For chrissakes, the German tanks in the movie couldn't have hit water if they fell out of a boat. I kept expecting Brad Pitt to break into his Lt. Aldo Raines character from Inglorious Bastards.

That last sentence. I hate when people say that. No conceivable way Germany was going to win ww2. Maybe take Europe. .. but the states no way.

My response was to the same thing. No way they were going to tasks the States. How would they get here, U boat?

A turn of phrase. I suppose a Cold War would have emerged between the nazis in Europe and the U.S.
