Title: Lucy - missed opportunity
Post by: bigmc on August 07, 2015, 01:30:03 PM
started off promising but they couldn't quite get the idea across

she goes from killing without feeling

to becoming omnipotent like god

good idea for a movie poorly executed

but scarlett is hot!!!!

Felt a little like the anime movie Akira.

Was slightly tempted to rent it a few times but never have just because of the reasons in this thread. I saw one preview were it looked potentially watcheable.

When she turned into the Spiderman Venom Spew and entered the internet was the ultimate in stupidity.

They never explained how she could ingest so much of that drug and not die.

I loved the movie, the movie sucked me in it!

Much like the movie "limitless" staring bradley cooper, I loved that shit!!!

It's a Besson flick, so you'll have visuals trumping narrative. Waste of Freeman, but car chase was decent.

Couldn't make it through.  Wouldn't your first thoughts be how to make more and how to improve them?

And then the guy who can do any fucking thing at all sets about impressing some rich wanker so that he can get a job.  Ya hi I'm limitless, can I have a job working for you?  Wat?

I enjoyed it.  Two stars out of four.  I enjoyed "Limitless" more.  2.5 stars out of four.

Stop watching movies if absolute realism is what you want. I only feed my imagination. It would be awesome to just take a pill that activates your brains memory so you can remember everything you skimmed through, read, watched, heard. Damn... I would get so much pussy...

Movie is excellent for me if it can suck me in the movies world so to speak, that it makes me feel how the characters might feel in the movie. That's all it is to me, getting hypnotized.

So basically this is something that will annoy me even more than something I turned off halfway through.  Still.  Scarlett.

And stop that.  Who gives stars out of four?  Movies are out of 5, women are out of 10.  People start fucking around with stars and all hell breaks loose.

I'm old.  Sorry my system needs updating but I will work on it. Here...Lucy gets 2 out of 5 and Limitless 3 out of 5.  Better?  ;D

Time for my Geritol !

Maybe it ended well.  It just really annoyed me that he wanted to get a job.  My disbelief suspension crane broke.

I bet you guys would rate something really fucking lame 5/5

these are movies.... who cares are they realistic, use your imagination, just go with it

Yes a job. The most lucrative "job" in the world which is a stockbroker if you have the brain the guy had. You still need money in this world no matter what. And then he wanted to be gordon gecko and he almost got it too, makes sense.

What would you do if you had computer memory all of a sudden? You would make money, and making money is working. What work would you do if you had the memory of a computer?

Gee. I don't know. Start composing music. Creating art. Help with medical issues. Become an agent for peace.

Yes, work and money.  But wasn't he already doubling his money every day on his own?  Starting with a penny, by the end of the squares on the checkers board he'd rule the world.  I think I read that somewhere but I never did the math to confirm.

Imo the nicest thing about money is forgetting about it.

HAHAHAHAHA :D

uhm, no, you would become extremely money hungry, self centered, self obsessed megalomaniac. In most cases that would happen.

I would do exactly what the dude did. Learn languages. Learn how the stocks work. Learn how the law works. Then play everyone a fool and make money off of everything.

This is why you should watch the movie :D, lol

He made 7 thousand a day on his own. But he needed more. So he wanted to get a job as a broker. Started making couple a mill a day. But eve that wasn't enough. He wanted to own the stock world, and after that the entire world = most money, most pussy, most respect.

Owh*.  These eternal moral dilemmas are so yesteryear.

Even as a consumer, I struggle.  Maybe someone ought to write a book: How to understand all the shit that happened 'fore your dumb ass got here.

I'm still 19th century (at best) with technology and some art, 17-18th musically.  At this rate I'll be pushing 30 before I catch up!  Here's an oldie but a goodie.

mark my words, none of you motherfuckers would become an agent of peace if you took a pill that made your brains memory that of a modern computer, being able to access your memory like a file, fast without a problem.

The man in the movie was an add personafied. Couldn't get shit started, was hopeless, women despised him. Suddenly he can learn things easier than what it was for him to throw his days away in the past. Unless you're jesus you won't become an agent of peace. He was the perfect example what most dudes would become.

This is gonna to come off weird but at some point I just wanted to be left the fuck in peace to do as I pleased.  Just follow my nose and trust it.  I was about 8, as I recall.  Whether the nose knows where it's going is problematic but that's not the point because that's what remains to be seen and faith in one's nose is a good thing to have.  Failing that, it's a good thing to develop.

So what would you do if you were given all the gifts required to win at a game that you're tired of playing?  Eventually, most acquire enough skill to win enough in their field but it doesn't make them any less tired of the game.   Must be why they call it a crisis.  Like old man Luther said to Redford, "I'm out, Johnny."

Not earth shattering, just okay.

Would barely look at her twice if she was at a mall in LA.

Brought to you by the drink sizes people.  "The smallest we have is a medium, sir."

And the committee for horrendously cutesy street names.  Who'd want to come home to Trumpeteur Mews?

The other day I asked a guy if using a relay circuit and a 12v fuel valve to remotely start a generator would be the way to go and if he had something on the shelf.  He told me I should run a special shielded data cable and use a computer.  Of course, the computer would have to have power to be running and you'd have to know how to write the program that would make it work and have the thing at the other end to interpret the command and actuate the frammus.  Then you could use your smart phone too!  If you knew how to write the program.  But that's what he'd do.  Because he studied programming.  Got a degree in it and everything.  Sweet, but at the moment we're in this auto parts store.  Mea culpa for asking.  Do you got a 3/8" 12 volt fuel shut off in stock?  Come, armageddon, come.

Sounds a lot like projection. Truth is, you haven't a clue how others would react. Only know yourself, and it's clear what you're about.
