Anyone have long term experience with clean "bulking" (a slight surplus) with a paleolithic diet?
-
-
i have never seen anyone do a genuine significant bulk on paleo
bench
-
Of course you can. Paleo, = meats, veggies, organics, some starches = pretty normal healthy eating. It comes down to calories. Lol people think since u are not eating rice, you wont gain muscles? Lol n8gga please
-
I know you can do it. I was just interested in hearing about what kinds of carbs paleo dieters use for "bulking".
-
almost impossible to eat enough calories and gain weight eating clean.
-
I used to be paleo but my vegan posts on instagram got more likes so I switched to vegan.
-
I tried paleo bulking. It did not work as well for me as a diet with starches.
And I am a fat white guy with a slow metabolism.
If you want to try an ancient diet that is correct for our metabolism... forget about "paleo" (based on the idea that humans "evolved" from plants in the ocean).. go with the biblical diet: fish, eggs, milk, honey, lamb, beef, bread, olives/olive oil, almonds, flour, wheat, goat, butter, cheese... :)

???
maybe i misunderstand, but as far as i know, paleo people consider basically all meat "clean".
have 2 1lb steaks a day, that's almost 3000 calories depending on the cut... then whatever.
-
I think the OP bulks on a diet consisting mostly of trouser steak and cockmeat lasagna.
Relatively "clean".

No you're not wrong.
Paleo is everything that we ate before the agricultural revolution.
Vegs, fruit and berries, meat, nuts, seeds. Delicious stuff!

Interesting. Potatoes are included in some paleo followers diet. But not the purists.
I'm going to eat a 80 percent-ish paleo diet from september to december. See how that goes.

Yeah, I don't understand why so many people villify carbs. I thumbed through this book 'wheat belly', the other day, which is some bestselling polemic against wheat, written by a doctor, no less.
In the end, he advocated, more or less, a heavy fat/protein diet: meat, cheese, oils, nuts, vegetables. Fruit in moderation.
He listed foods by label: 'eat unlimited quantities of', 'eat in moderation', 'never eat', etc.
Obviously, stuff like 'refined grains' fell under 'never eat'. Under 'unlimited quantities' though, fell meat, oil, eggs.
WTF. Unlimited oil? If I pour an extra five tablespoons (600 cal) of oil in each meal, I'm hardly even going to notice... But you're saying i wont get fat?
???
I could easily eat several lbs of fatty meat per day... I'm not going to get fat from that, either?
I could easy sneak half a stick of butter through (400-500 cal) in throughout the day, or pour a quarter cup of heavy cream (about 200 cal) into a few daily shakes... But I won't get fat?
I think nuts might have been in the 'unlimited' category too... Oh brother.
Makes no sense to me.
-
Just take the good aspects out of that approach to make your current strategy better. Dosen't have to be Paleleo all the way...
-
i agree with tbombz follow the bible diet not this pagan paleo stuff

Give it a go mate and get back to us, its just what you need instead of all that fancy shit you keep knocking up and still looking like a bone rack.

so it's 'almost impossible to eat enough calories and gain weight eating clean', yet eating as such is 'just what i need'

Hey, its you that said it was easy to eat enough calories to bulk on Paleo.
Go for it mate, lets see how much weight you can gain.
-
Most who do paleo do not aim to "drop weight". It's not the purpose, it's about eating healthy stuff.
However, the side effect when you eat this clean is usually weight loss. At least for fat people.
-
If you are 10% bf or less, and then switch to paleo (adding 500 kcals at least) then there's no reason why you won't grow on the surplus kcals. If you are a fat girl, who really should lose 40 pounds before you should even consider 'bulking' on any diet, then you would probably lose weight switching to Paleo.
-
what if eating paleo makes you a faggott
-
what if eating paleo makes you a faggott
Then we should make a subforum called 'Paleo and sex with men' for you to moderate.
-
Hate that people have to label their diets.
Just eat and lift your ass off. Who cares if you throw potatoes in the mix every now and again.
