Wow, he's pretty pissed off at the Pariso's.
So they asked for press passes for the IFBB Atlantic City pro show, and were denied. This was the reply Dave got back
"We now own our own media content and we want to drive all traffic to our own social sites. Therefore, at this time, we are not granting press passes"

Another thing. Dave looks totally diseased. Not just ugly. Like, diseased. Something is wrong with his skin. Any medical board brahs know WTF is up with his metabolism?
-
y is he holding paper if hes reading from a teleprompter??
LOL!
Probably some weird shit on that paper...
-
y is he holding paper if hes reading from a teleprompter??
Paper has "LOOK AT TELEPROMPTER", written on it in 11 strategic locations.

The Ronfather don't need no stinking press pass.
-
First Gary Udit's $1,500 press pass tariff and now this. Bodybuilding is adding black eyes galore by shutting out their own media outlets.
-
they want people to pay $1500 to cover bb'ing???
that is the biggest early april fool's joke ever.
Way to self sabotage a dying activity/cult...

What a breaking-news report! ::)
Anyway ... this "sport" doesn't know how to win. Everyone's always trying to push everyone else out of the picture ... in long-term service of absolutely NO ONE. Back when I worked at MuscleMag, we'd be endlessly frustrated to not be able to interview so-and-so because he had a contract with so-and-so.
Limiting exposure through diverse media is such a terrific way to build business/celebrity (re: sarcasm).
Bodybuilding, as a legit professional pursuit, has had its day. The industry ruined any potential almost as soon as that potential had even a hint of possibility.
It truly is all drugs, unhealthy lifestyle and mountains of fart powder.
-
lol is this for real?
-
why cover bodybuilding shows?
why not instead have a camera man following dorian yates around for a few months, black and white photos from his gym and then photos of his wife

Great points. Exclusive contracts are inhibitive as it is, but now the media outlets that want to cover these boring shows will not even have the opportunity to do so.
I am so glad that I have decided to forego the competitive side of bodybuilding with my magazine and concentrate on the lifestyle angle and what the others feel are too controversial for their publications.
-
Are they keeping Ron out?

Smart move.
We often talk about how poorly bodybuilding is run. Yes they may be making money now and most of it is on the shattered dreams of these wanna be NPC Physique and Bikini people...BUT things could be run so much better. This is such a fringe and cult activity. It would be best to have several outlets reporting on shows and such to get different perspectives and drive interest. Social media helps us get into the day to day life of people but there's a lot more that could be done.
It's like they are in the dark ages.
-
God..he is one ugly motha fucker.
And you are a self centered low life for attacking people and personalities with no respect for anything ..

Joe some of the most interesting videos were the day in the life type and those seem to have disappeared. Combined with training footage those were better than the contests. All the classes crammed in to one or two day contests is horrible if bb was not boring enough.

All the Battle for the Olympias were more interesting than the contest itself.

Response from Vision Star Entertainment on Dave Palumbo's accusations
Let me first clarify that we are not banning all press from our Europa Games. However, we are being selective as to who receive the limited number of press passes.
The Europa Games are IFBB sanctioned events, and we will always welcome Muscle & Fitness and Flex magazines in our press pit. The Europa Games are also NPC sanctioned events, and the NPC regularly send a representative to cover our shows. The Europa Games has a partnership in place with Muscular Development, and they are on the approved media list.We also encourage the local TV and print media outlets in each city to obtain media passes.
In addition, Vision Star Entertainment has acquired a media outlet which will has exclusive rights to our Europa Games content. We have moved in this direction for a several of reasons... among the top is that we have contractual agreements with our sponsors, and we want to make sure that we are honoring those contracts in regards to title sponsors financially supporting the Europa Games. In the past, the on-line websites that have posted the results of our event have not considered these agreements and it has become a concern for the Europa Games.
Another objective is to be the first to post the results of our own events, and this will also guarantee that the title sponsors who are financially supporting the event get recognition. Therefore at this time we are limiting press passes that might hinder these objectives.
All media pass requests should be sent to BettyPariso@aol.com, and they will be reviewed on an individual basis.

Say what?
-
All the Battle for the Olympias were more interesting than the contest itself.
and a lot of the footage was shot after the Olympia.
-
These contests have become almost unbearable to witness in their entirety.
Financially backed by horseshit fart powder companies and catering to mentally ill "fans" (of all types) who are gassing the venue with odious assfumes as a result of ingesting said fart powder products.

Extremely bitter towards the industry you once worked for. Must not have ended well for you.
