I beg to differ. Paris was superior. Those you defend are just bigger. Aesthetics versus assthetics. This is a highly subjective pastime we engage in but the average man or woman on the street would more than prefer Paris over the aforementioned turgid turds.
The average schmoe on the sidewalk? Haney, Yates, Coleman...They prefer pigs in bondage (Kai) to the grace personified which was Paris.
Haney was at best pedestrian and should have lost more than once to smaller men with better physiques. Its not that he was awful but rather he wasn't all that great. Same with Yates and especially that slob Coleman. Nothing more than a difference of opinion.

And for the record, The Trio of Turds known as Haney, Yates and Coleman are no match for the Oak. Arnold was Massthetics personified.

Not on aesthetics and symmetry. Unfortunately, Yates and Coleman began the era of chasing size to the point at which they lost control of their guts except for the few seconds they held a pose. We've all seen the pics. Kai and Phil have the same problem.

5'10 I believe.
About right he competed in the tall divisions at AAU. I ran into him a few times and he was a beast.
He was also very smart when it came to dieting, meal timing etc. Went on and got his advanced degree in Physical Therapy.
His quads were huge!

Look at the lineup for year Paris won the Nationals. At the time, I was a member of the same gym as the guy who came in 7th, Steve Adell, and he was unreal.

As someone who looked away during 95 - 2013 the difference is astonishing - I didn't see any graduation in physiques so the only distended gut I remember seeing before my sabbatical was a picture of Nasser mid-calf in the sea in a picture in MuscleMag (maybe the Steve Neece column?). I remember thinking, "Wow, that's some belly", but I was a fan so forgot about it and went away for years. And in fact it was hearing about his death that first brought me back to BB and then GetBig. I only hope these new guys are not selling their futures for 'a plastic trophy', as so many on here put it... ???

Now, he could have won a (World's most perfectly built man) but he did not come close
to meeting the requirements of a Mr. Olympia.
Sergio Oliva set the standard for what bodybuilding contests would be and everything after
would be an advancement on that standard.
Paris just didn't have the crazy round muscle bellies, dense/bulbous development
or the condition in all areas. (His glutes would be considered fat by 90's + standards
until today.
Perfect body for movies or picking up women. The modern Steve Reeves.

I disagree. Paris had an outstanding bodybuilding career. He was on dozens of magazine covers, appeared on talk shows, authored several bodybuilding books, and placed high in many ifbb shows. He is also regarded by most as the most aesthetic and symmetrical pro ever.

Semantics - he didn't win contests anywhere near the rate of those that I based my posts on - Yates / Coleman are the Ruths / Jordans / Gretskys of bodybuilding. Paris doesn't compare in that respect.

40 years in the industry and a past judge I absolutely know what it means. I remember one year (maybe more) Ronnie won the symmetry round at an Olympia where he should have scored low. Although he should have won anyway that symmetry round he shouldn't have even been in the top 5 in that round. Btw, to the best of my knowledge there has never been an "aesthetics" round. So in the judging world symmetry = aesthetics. Besides....it's all subjective.
