this thread will most likely die a quick death.
list some things that u have found that are essential in our quest just to get thru this thing called life.
I'll start with persistence and consistency.
Once u find something that works in life u have to do it consistently for any long term effect.
Persistence because most people give up on everything in life too easily.

I'm trying to work toward this one. The older i get the more i realize the less we need. Content in terms of possessions I mean. I was happy when i was completely broke. Something to be said for slowing down and not striving for every material possessions.

How about this.
If u have a problem with someone's actions always confront them first. Be careful not to bitch about them to others before confronting them first because that'll always come back to bite you.

The ability to sustain loss.
Yes, but the ability to prevent loss is even better.

If I were able to go back in time and give young Alejandro M. Doggity life changing words of wisdom, they would comprise the following information:
1)Mistakes, if you are willing to learn from them, can be just as valuable as successes. Try to avoid them, but don't beat yourself up over them.
2)Likewise, failure is not something to be feared. At this point in your life, I know that you are expecting world-beating success cemented into place by the time you are 30, but the older you get, the more you realize that you're fine with not peaking too early. The older you got, the more you established your personal definition for success. You re-evaluate and adjust it from time to time and it works for you.
3) Do everything and try something new everyday.I know you loved that diner when you lived on the UES, but you don't even try that Japanese place until your lease is almost up. You stick with the pad thai everytime you go to the thai place and only realize how good the duck is 2 years later when returning to the neighborhood to visit a friend. You run into James Gandolfini when you decide to take a different route home from the subway. Try more new shit. And do more shit. Acquire knowledge and experiences, professionally and recreationally. Once you do, you take that welding class and build a great tv stand. You also start and stop french and italian classes intermittently, but that's fine, too. Obligations may get in the way, but at least it's not procrastination.
4)Consistency is the most important thing when it comes to working out. Don't compare yourself to others at the gym. Just do your thing and keep going every day you plan to and everything will fall into place.
5)If you ain't sweatin', you ain't workin. You spend most of your 20s and a good chunk of your 30s working out two hours or more a day. You are working hard in some respects, but you almost never break a sweat. Cut the rest times- cut the weight if you have to- and up the intensity. You will get more done in less time and look way better.
