Every word of the tweet is true.

PC bullshit, but he has to be retarded to not know that would have repercussions.

Not "exactly".

"When it came to power in 1933, the Nazi Party had over 2 million members. In 1939, the membership total rose to 5.3 million with 81% being male and 19% being female. It continued to attract many more and by 1945 the party reached its peak of 8 million with 63% being male and 37% being female"

In 1939 Germanys population was 80,600,000
http://www.feldgrau.com/stats.html
In 1939 the NAZI Party membership was 5,300,000
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nazi_Party

That rounds to about 15%

His general premise does hold some merit of course.

when a person rants and raves 24/7 about a small percentage of people like this, you know they have some unresolved issues.

I mean, go out and convert people to your religion, if you want to positively change shit.  Instead, people like Schilling just bitch and moan with images like this, designed to brew hatred.

Look, if you don't like something in the world, you can do 3 things..
1) STFU and ignore it
2) bitch about it, without offering any solutions
3) go out and work to positively change the people doing the things you hate.

Curt, if you feel this strongly, don't whine from facebook - go down to the local mosque and convert people.  If you want to make that % smaller, then go tell then why your religion is better.  Go change them - don't just get 300 million americans 'pissed off' at them.

Seriously, anytime you hear a person doing this, it's always some unresolved anger with other things in their world.

Shilling is actually pretty good as an baseball analysis...Listening to him talk, it was only a matter of time before he stepped over the line...He's the guy who got the State of Rhode Island to pony up over a 100 million dollars to invest in his video game company. That company went belly up in no time. All tax payers money. The fact that he's still in front of a camera shows he has no shame.

in 1940 there was no internet, in 1940 the world was very different.
in 1940 germany had a dictator psycho as a leader.
lots of differences.

drawing a conclusion with a single anecdotal similarity is a very long bow at best, stupidly moronic in the least.

if he gets sacked, then they probably werent too worried about him going anyway. this is a good enough reason to hide behind.

$1 million
Schilling, who made more than $115 million in a 20-year career, reportedly has a net worth of only $1 million and is in the process of being sued by the state of Rhode Island over a $75 million loan to his bankrupt 38 Studios video game company

What an idiot. Tries to start an entertainment and IP development company in this day and age. Like he can compete with Microsoft, Apple, and all the different video game consoles out there (Xbox, playstation, etc).

He would have been better off opening up a restaurant or something.

Curt Schilling is like another Zimmerman. Cant keep his mouth closed. Always getting in trouble somehow.

The game he made "Kingdom of Amalur: The Reckoning" did not sell well.

For the amount of money he put into the title, he would have had to sell about 4 Million copies to turn any kind of decent profit.

I believe he sold about 1.3 million.

Probably.

He spent too much getting "names"

For instance, he had Todd McFarlane doing art and R.A. Salvatore writing the lore and creating the world it resides in.

Those are two high dollar people for that kind of stuff.

He could have spent 40 million, made a good game, sold the number he DID sell, and turned a little profit, then made the next game.

He just squandered the money.

I'm sure it wasn't ALL him either. He bank rolled it, but certainly the Producer of the game itself and whoever his studio General Manager was should have said, no way are we spending the money on those kids of  people.

It's ridiculous.

Didnt seem like the best business decision, and I know jack shit about business.

With all the big names in the industry (microsoft, apple, google, etc), its almost impossible to try and compete with those companies, especially if youre not extremely savvy in that area of business. Its going to be a long time before we see another company go head-to-head with google, apple, or microsoft.

Its okay to take some risk in business, but this was flat out stupid. As you said, there is a lot more safe investments he could have made. Make those, then slowly but surely invest in some company of your own.

It wasn't the business of games that was the problem. It was the amount he decided to spend on the game he was making.

It's like saying, "I'm going to compete with a Marvel blockbuster, so I'm going to spend the exact kind of money that Marvel spends."

Sounds like a plan, right up until you don't make the 750Million dollars back that Marvel does.

True, but even so, you have to wonder, even if he made the right business decisions, would he have been able to compete with other businesses? You can make sound business decisions and still fail for a variety of reasons.

I don't see why not to be honest.

The total of the hollywood box office is not the total of the gaming business.

In most fledgling studios, (even some larger ones) sales of 1.5 to 2 million is considered very good and will make a profit... IF you haven't spent TOO much to make it.

1.5 million in sales isn't bad. Not at all... If your costs are not extravagant for no reason.

IMO, the american dream isn't "becoming the next apple" - it's building up a Minecraft or Beats by Dre, selling to one of the super huge companies, and retiring with half a billion in the bank.

240 has a handful of skills, including:

1) he can accurately predict how far any cops is away from a shooting victim. This allows 240 to identify if the shooting was justified.
2) he has in depth knowledge about various aspects of sports, most notably the NE Patriots and their cheating.
3) he can tie historical accounts into any known event to justify his opinion.
4) he is a master at understanding the unique nature of politics.
5) he can simultaneously hold two drastically different opinions, while seeking to understand both sides.
6) related to point 5, 240 can remain impartial until all the evidence presents itself.
7) hes got big arms.
