Title: The man who sold Minecraft to Microsoft for $2.5 billion feels "Isolated".

"Hanging out in ibiza with a bunch of friends and partying with famous people, able to do whatever I want, and I've never felt more isolated."

I don't buy it for a fucking second. Load of shit.

With all his bitching and moaning, he will still hang on to every last drop of money. If he really yearned for his old lifestyle, he would donate most of his money to charity, and keep enough to live off, but still lead a "normal" life.

At the thought of losing all of his money, he'd take money and isolation over making 50K a year and having friends. Yet, he complains about being a billionaire.  ::) ::)

The wrong guy reaped the profits here.  I'd venture to say with 2 billion...whining about being alone is one thing that would never happen to me.  Sometimes women just don't want a fat messy whiner billionaire.  I would handle this so much better.
What a piece of shit looking game too.  Figures.
He should consult with the Croatch. First step, watch your diet.  Next, join a gym.  Third, go to gym.  Last, stop crying on social media like a middle schooler on her period...embarrassment.

I believe him. He was a strange mofo. My son went through a huge minecraft phase and we spent a lot of time on the devloper forums and saw a lot of oddity from the guy. Kudos for the idea.

He needs to get a hit fitness model to fuck and a MMA trainer and some good gear.

For 2.5 billion, he can pay to have endless women and to take care of some of his friends, so that they don't ever have to work.

Your whole life must change though. I'm sure he has to have security (unlike a normal person) and is probably paranoid to a certain extent.

Having a net worth like that means that you are surrounded by yes men and leeches 24/7.

The point is he's a f*ing computer geek, that's all he knows and that's all he enjoys doing.

Forcing himself to "party in Ibiza with the celebrities" cause you're supposed to do that when you have money, eventhough he hates partying inside, won't bring him happiness.

He shouldn't have sold the company and just sticked with it, like Zuckerberg. Can you imagine Zuckerberg selling Facebook and trying to party on Ibiza....lol Would be the same sad story.

Also sitting around alone in that ridicoulous house, laughable for a guy like that. I bet the guy was happier in his shitty one-room flat in Sweden with his computer in front of him, working on his "masterpiece" ::)

Markus Persson felt alive and had a purpose in life when working with Minecraft, i assume Zuckerberg feels the same with Facebook.

Now with minecraft gone, maybe markus feels as is his purpose in life is gone.

When we sold the company, the biggest effort went into making sure the employees got taken care of, and they all hate me now.

It is amazing how things turn out sometimes. I never would have thought a game like Minecraft would turn out to be so popular.

Absolutely proves that graphics to not necessarily equal success.

I'd bet he's sad cause he's probably not working in any project right now.

Even with all the money in the world, I'd still work. Not a 9-5 job, but projects, and of course a lot of traveling and vacations.  :)

I have to admit, x2.. Fugly geek geniuses seldom feel awesome at parties. and I'm sure if he got him self in great shape he would start to enjoy himself even more. People who look like that always feel uncomfortable around people who look like zyzz or some half naked crossfit women no matter how computer smart they are, facts.

If i had 2.5 billion $ , i'd do a Curt Schilling, but try to avoid going into bankruptcy. :D

I'd make a game for PC and consoles called "The King of Getbig", where you start as a pleb / peon and work your way up the totempole, having to fight epic battles with Goodrum, Shizzo etc...

Actually, someone here from Getbig (maybe Devilsmile or Coach, anyone but Goodrum), should contact Markus and get him into shape (for a solid amount of money), and i'm talking Zyzz-shape or similar.

Then im sure he'd enjoy the parties and life much more when he gets appreciation from females and whatnot.

Make this your mission and get him in shape, it may be worth it!

So Goodrum and Shizzo are lower-level bosses, who is the big bad boss to fight at the end? Ron, hurling orange chicken? OMR with "Pwning Level" = 9000? Princess L with a death of 1000 cutting remarks?

How does Joon fit into the game?

I never understood why rich people always feel they have to "diversify" or open a bunch of businesses.

If you are a multi-millionaire, why bother risking your money at all? Sure, you can have passions or hobbies, but most normal people start businesses with hopes of making the type of money that these people already possess.

Why wouldn't this nerd move to San Fran with all the other IT people?

What's strange is this:

Clearly, he can jump on any project he wants to with other developers. With his money and reputation, any computer company would love to have this guy. Shit, he can even donate his time for free, just for the hell of it. Just to stay active.

Instead, he chooses to sit home and wait for his friends to not be busy with their life.

I would trust the friends that I grew up with. They are the ones that liked him before he was successful. Not saying that they can't turn on him too, but he can afford to give back to family and close friends.

I would feel obligated to help my friends and family. Nobody needs 2.5 billion dollars.

How does Joon fit into the game?

You will face Joon first in Act 1, then later on in Act 3, and finally in Act 5.

You can avoid facing the Bosses OMR and Princess L, depending on the choices you make.

(Playing an evil character, ie doing bad choices will definatly create attention to OMR and Princess but you can bypass those obstacles).

Final fight is with King Ron Avidan of course, and it's not an easy fight you can finish in 30 mins.

It's an ongoing fight lasting 12 hours, so it's not for the weak.

if you fail (do a single mistake ie losing rhythm at the Mirage Ice-Machine), you'll have to start the fight over again (another 12 hours minimum to be able to defeat him).

Not for the faint of heart or for those with lives.

Here's the house, obviously ridicolous.

But seriously, when you're all alone in LA, with no family and few friends, sitting around alone in a house like that potentiates your psychological problems for the worse. He should've stayed in Sweden close to home or his relatives, buying a nice regular sized house there when he's prone to depression and stuff like that.

You guys don't get it.  People who aren't rich aspire for things out of reach.  Dreaming of that Ferrari, working out hard to attract that girl etc...

Once you have money and buy everything you desire what's left?  What's their to aspire for?  That's why the rich elite spend more time sucking off politicians.  At that point its about power.  They have all the toys they could want and be bored of.  Some people are just driven by what they can't have but once you have it all it's hard to be motivated.

For him, acquiring a lot of money is like getting cheat codes in a game to give you god mode.

It is great fun at first, but then you get sick of the game because it is too easy and unfulfilling.

Last time that happened with me, it was the game skyrim. I played that game on a regular basis trying to advance, then I found out you could type a code into console to kill everyone on the screen. I lasted maybe a week, using the code every time I was about to die, and then just never played the game ever again. It made playing the game an empty experience.

How can it be unfulfilling to be able to literally do anything you want, anytime you want?

Think of all the good you can do with 2.5 billion dollars. That alone would be very satisfying.

It's a 3D world where you make stuff, mine and fight people etc, and do anything really (within the limits of the game).

It looks simple on the surface, but people have made functioning computers inside the game using logic gates.

I guess because people usually have to work hard and suffer towards a goal in order to achieve a reward and feel good. Like working out at the gym for years to achieve a certain strength or physique goal. Like the first time I benched 100kg, felt awesome. If I never worked out in my life and took a pill and overnight I'm benching 100kg it would feel empty. Take two pills and bench 150kg, big deal.

I guess he could give to charities to make himself feel better, it would be like giving the strength pill to someone with a disability.

Ya. He's probably just using twitter to reel in some young females in the area. Make it sound like he sits around doing nothing so he gets flooded with Twitter messages. That wall of candy looks cool but is also pretty creepy. Wall of candy is a pedo's dream...And isn't minecraft a child's game?

How can it be unfulfilling to be able to literally do anything you want, anytime you want?

Think of all the good you can do with 2.5 billion dollars. That alone would be very satisfying.

As soon as you start giving, those you give to will always have their hands out. This guy could give 100 million to fight cancer and what will it accomplish? They'll just build a building with the dudes name on it and still ask him for money every year. It never ends. When you're that rich, fuck giving to charities. Just start your own charity. That way you'll know the books inside and out. You'll know exactly where your money goes. Giving money to many charities is like the Joker stacking it all up and burning it...

QFT.  I am living proof.  And I don't have 2.5 ANYTHING to cushion the blow.  :o

As if money gives you 'the ability to do anything you want, anytime you want' ::)

How is it hard to understand why someone who created one of the most popular games in history is struggling now that he no longer owns it?  You can't buy that kind of experience, just the same way Shakespeare couldn't buy himself a new play.

The dude made his masterpiece, and probably fears he won't be able to achieve something similar again.  I imagine he looks at the rest of his life and thinks, 'what am i going to do, sit around buying cars all day?'

Imagine a penniless entrepreneur who risks everything on a business idea and succeeds.  After building his empire from the ground up, he becomes a billionaire by selling his company.  For twenty years he worked hard and saw his power grow and grow... more money, more success every time he turned around, and all gained by his own hand.

THAT is the experience of his lifetime, not the ultimate payout.  Now he has billions, but no more say in his company.  No one needs him to guide them.  He doesn't have the power to make decisions and shape the future.  He is politely told, "thanks, now enjoy your bugattis."

For people who have the power to create, driving around in a fast car isn't their fantasy... when their work is taken away, what do they have left?  How can buying nice things compare to the thrill of creation?

This happens to a lot of young people, especially athletes.  Being All State in High School Football, big star at 17 years old then sucks in college and done for their lives.  They peaked at their true love at a young age.  Same with college players who are Heisman winners, national champs and last a week in the NFL.  Sometimes in life you want to peak later when you're older and know you've worked hard to get there.  I guarantee you this guy didn't think minecraft would be a billion dollar game.  But it did and he got an offered he couldn't refuse and now the devil Microsoft owns it.  He litteraly sold his soul to the devil.

I don't think a lot of people hand around super rich folk.  They are fucking annoying as shit to be around.

Dude, he can afford to be as creative as he wants now.  He is literally able to do anything his heart desires. If his heart was with his baby (Minecraft) then he should not have sold it.  He could have remained in total control and still very wealthy by staying with his company.

Many billionaires probably feel out of touch with the rest of society at times.

Again, I dont buy it.

Even if he sold minecraft, he obviously is a smart guy and can easily create another game. Sure, it may not be as successful as minecraft, but it still would most likely garner lots of attention.

As Ive stated previously, with his money, connections, and intelligence, he can easily work for any computer company in the world. Hell, if he doesnt want to work and get paid because hes rich enough, he can volunteer his time. Do you realize how many medical companies would not mind having a guy like that design some computer software or something (im just sort of speaking out loud). Shit, there is SO much he can do with his intelligence and money.

To me, it sounds like hes the type of guy that wants to sit on his ass all day and eat M and Ms and have his friends say to him, "dont worry, we still love you and want to be your friend."  ::) ::) ::)

Although Bill Gates still owns Microsoft, clearly he has invested his time in all sorts of different projects. The minecraft guy, created minecraft, than sat on his ass. His fault. Most billionaires are very active in all different areas of life and community.

The only way I think he may feel isolated is that if he feels like people are only using him for his money. Some women may want to marry him because hes rich. Sure, that can make you feel isolated.

But the way he talks about his friends, it seems like these were friends before he became rich.

As stated above, the only thing that may really suck and make you feel isolated is trying to find someone to marry who loves you for you and not your money. But to feel 100% isolated is beyond me.

2.5 billion dollars isn't enough for Markus to be able to keep a woman.
He needs more help than that. Help with his physique, mindset, lifestyle etc

I'm assuming he is too depressed due to the loss of his child (minecraft becoming mindcraft)

Found a great girl, but she's afraid of me and my life style and went with a normal person instead.

But I think that is part of the problem. He probably wants a woman who will want to marry him/be with him for HIM, and not for his money.

The companionship and trust from a significant other (husband or wife) is much different than that from a friend or family. Its not necessarily a better type of companionship and trust. Its just a different kind, something you can't get from a friend or family member. In the same way that you may not be able to get a certain type of trust and companionship from a wife or husband that you can from a best friend.  Each relationship is different in its own right.

I am guessing when you're worth 2.5 billion dollars, its hard finding someone who wants you for you and not for your money.

Woman don't actually lust after a man's flesh the way men do with women (some women might but they are the exception, not the rule).  The majority of women aren't motivated by sex the way men are, what turns women on is money and power.  Most women fake a powerful libido to secure favors from the man they have targeted for whatever favour she seeks.  Women are far better at faking almost everything compared to men, they can even fake sexual arousal and interest if it helps their agenda.  Given the option of a homeless muscular ripped dude and a flabby, slobby billionaire, the money man wins everytime.

So, you do understand, at the basest level, where his isolation stems from- as billionaire specific as it may be.

I get it. I also don't think it's that easy to come up with a great second act, regardless of how much talent and brains you might exhibit with your first big hit idea. Look at how many people from the business and entertainment worlds fail to do it. The phrase "sophomore slump"  was invented for a reason. I was just reading about the original youtube guys a few days ago. They've been trying feverishly for a hit second act, but all of their output since youtube has been pretty mediocre. I've never played Minecraft, but it seems to be mostly about a novel concept and those aren't easy to do.

Good Point.....speaking of the Youtube guys, I think these dudes should not have sold youtube to Google....come on, they sold it for less than $1 billion a few years ago, and as of the 3rd quarter of this year, Youtube is now worth a whopping $26 billion and they're thinking of having a separate youtube section where you'll have to pay in other to view copyrighted materials, name it musics, movies.......

Perfect examples! The one guy, Parker, was basically an investor. He went on to invest in facebook and that was a huge payday for him. The other guy, Fanning,  was more of the creative mind. He made very little from Napster and created business after business that didn't really do to well. The last thing I remember reading about him was that he had started this social app called Path that was always in the midst of some controversy. They had apparently gamed the itunes app store to appear more popular than they really were and were hemorrhaging money at the time.

I'm not so sure I agree. Youtube still has not turned a profit and it a company like youtube didn't own the site- a company that can afford to write off its losses- then it probably wouldn't exist today in its current form.

Yes and no.

There is no indication that his isolation is due to his inability to come up with a "great second act." In fact, his isolation appears to be more relationally-based. From what has been said on this thread, hes never linked his isolation to his work productivity (coming up with something as lucrative as minecraft).

With that said, there are many ways to decrease isolation, which he has is not taking advantage of. He can easily volunteer his time to any organization that has a computer system--maybe help them overhaul their system, to make it easier for them to keep their records. It doesnt have to be groundbreaking, but its just an example of just ONE way for him to decrease his isolation, if his isolation is relationally-based.

He should use his money to support Donald Trump in the upcoming election!

Buy votes etc! Help build the wall!

Or maybe build some housing for immigrants that can house at least 1000 people in northwestern Sweden.

Not that much north though, maybe around Grytan, Östersund.

Maybe another facility further north close to Laisholm or nikkaluokta.

Yes and no.

There is no indication that his isolation is due to his inability to come up with a "great second act." In fact, his isolation appears to be more relationally-based. From what has been said on this thread, hes never linked his isolation to his work productivity (coming up with something as lucrative as minecraft).

Even though I didn't quote it, I was referring to your previous posts where you said he could easily come up with another game. I don't really think that's the case.

For the most part, I think this is one of those situations where people take something too literally and too seriously. It's not really that hard to see that great success can change things. Obviously, he goes out and has people in his life, but it sounded  more like he was complaining that getting everything you think you want is not all it's cracked up to be.

He could easily come up with another game. Clearly, he has both the money and intelligence to do so. I never said it was going to be as big as minecraft. I just said he has the means to do it. He does. There is no denying that. For whatever reason, he chooses  not to.

When you chose to respond to this, when you looked at it in the context of the post of yours I was responding to and the posts of mine that you responded to, did you really think I meant  he may no longer possess the ability to operate a computer? Was it really not obvious that I meant an idea that he found compelling and worth pursuing, something that he felt the public would be excited about? Something that wasn't just procedural busy work?

LOL at him basically trying to say Microsoft stole Minecraft. Him calling Microsoft names isn't very smart either. The dude is way out of his league. Take your billions and find another purpose in life. I bet this guy couldn't understand when he brought in tons of hot pussy for parties and what not why they were on their phones texting other dudes. He thought the money/lifestyle was enough for all of them to want to be with him and only him.

It's a 3D world where you make stuff, mine and fight people etc, and do anything really (within the limits of the game).

It looks simple on the surface, but people have made functioning computers inside the game using logic gates.

What can the computers in the video game do?  I mean, they must be limited.

Given the option of a homeless muscular ripped dude and a flabby, slobby billionaire, the money man wins everytime.

having a regular job and being in good shape is all you need to get quality pussy if you're not dumb as a rock. Some form of intelligence mixed with good physical condition will get women creaming.

I agree that women in the highest levels think men with great power are hot, but when we go to the mid levels all you need is regular stuff, good body and confidence, but for sure this minecraft guy will not know what it's like.

Women have said that great physical ability is hot, not so much the looks but if you are capable of doing great physical feats you're hot. But we're talking about hannibal4king level shit. If you are hannibl4king level, it doesn't matter are you poor and homeless you will get some good poontang!

I agree in part, and anyone can get a woman, but the women are settling for less than what they want.  Like men, women are competing for the best of the best, a woman's selection criteria is power and money first, good looks and hot body second (maybe throw intelligence into the mix).  A man's criteria is good looking and hot body, he couldn't care less if she was as dumb as a box of rocks.  So while a woman will enjoy a fling with a so called hot guy, she still prefers to settle down with a good provider.

stereotypes are funny because they bring plenty of truth. Have you seen those vitaly prank videos where the guy asks a woman out and she declines, but when he asks the woman out with a sports car she is all willing and shit. So you're right.

I never said women were evil bitches, fuck where did you get that from.  I am simply pointing out a woman's motivation and the truth behind it obviously upsets you as perhaps you feel you don't have much to offer in the two main criteria a woman is looking for.  I don't fault a woman for acting according to her nature, she has her future offspring to worry about, and same with the man, he selects the most beautiful, fittest looking woman he can find as this can be an indicator of good genetics, so in this way he is also trying to secure a better future for his offspring.  It is you who sounds bitter, and why would I feel better that woman prefer rich guys, I am not a rich man.

I'm sorry that you have yet to understand women's motivation, and while women may make their own money, they would trade that in a heartbeat to be the partner of a rich and powerful man.  But such men are in limited supply and in high demand, so lots of women have to settle for working for a living.  And you can bet your bottom dollar that even working woman are still trying to compete to get the man who will best provide for her and her offspring when she is unable to work due to pregnancy and child rearing.

Look, I understand your frustration, and a lot of people believe as you do, but it's wishful thinking.  People like to sugar coat reality to take the edge of it's harshness, but human nature remains human nature.  I mean wouldn't it be nice if women did actually love men for who they were and not what they could do for them, sounds like a great story, but that wouldn't help the evolution of the species now would it.  And wouldn't it be nice if men just didn't see women as real life fuck dolls, but once again, wishful thinking.  The world is what it is, you can either rally against it or accept, it's your choice.

Women must see you coming a mile away, I can actually tell you believe all that nonsense.  But you aren't alone, the majority of men think as you do, they haven't worked out the game, some never do.  I mean, I hope you seriously aren't expecting women to expose their secret strategy, that would interfere with securing the most suitable mate.  If it makes you feel better to think women actually judge you on your character then continue believing that (your mum and sisters might), but the best way of improving your chances at the best the female gene pool has to offer is to seek money and power.  Or you could simply drop out of the game and go your own way.
