This morning I'm chowing down on oatmeal and cottage cheese thinking why the fuck am I eating this shit. made me think of all the food I probably wouldn't touch again if I wasn't lifting.
Top 3:
Oatmeal
Cottage Cheese
Ground Turkey - hate the smell when it cooks.

Baked/grilled Chicken breast
Brown rice
Quinoa
The list is probably endless.

I honestly would eat similar to now as it keeps me energy levels stable. Would not use protein powder though.
I don't really eat anything I don't like in the given moment but am super fussy with food. It's rediculous.

Right now I eat exactly the type of foods I would eat without any lifting.
Perhaps I would eat proportionally more proteins with no lifting.

Hard to say, I see the shit other people eat and would rather eat what I eat, a lad at work was eating a bowl of fucking couscous or some shit like that and it looked absolutley liftin is have some nicely seasoned chicken breast with sweet potato over that any day. That being said I dont religiously stick to decent food but when I cheat it's mainly on less lean meats rather that sugary shit so I'd probably eat the same

I wouldn't eat any different. I eat all the foods I enjoy as it is. I don't take any supps or do shakes. Processed food and refined sugars are what I've found make me fat and feel like crap so I avoid those already. Otherwise the only thing that would change of I wasn't lifting is amount of calories.

Some people dont eat sufficient protein, you need to eat sufficient protein sources to make muscle gains.
The body isnt built on Hummingbird cake alone.

Beef, I justify eating it by training hard, otherwise I dont eat it. Less chicken. I might even go vegetarian besides some occasional fish.

The better question is what foods would you start eating more of.
And this presupposes that if I were to stop lifting/exercising I decided not to give a damn about my health and appearance.
My diet would consist primarily of pizza, fried anything, ice-cream, donuts and brownies, chips. Any cookies, cakes and what not. M&Ms would be with me always. More ice-cream. I probably wouldn't eat much meat unless it was fried chicken, orange chicken, and shrimp tempura.

Tinned tuna has to be one of the most tasteless things u can eat, everything else I quite enjoy eating... Cant get away from the cheapness of tuna, especially from aldi...

Tuna in olive or sunflower oil is okay. Tuna in brine is awful.
For lunch, I usually have Tuna (in olive oil) mixed with cottage cheese (with onion and chive). Quite tasty and high in protein.

I've gone through the extremes. At this point, I consume a "muscle building" diet, but it's what I'd call fairly moderate. It's relatively unprocessed, low in fat and high in protein, but it's not a chore to consume and I will err on the side of taste rather than nutritional value.
This is something that took me a while to get to. I kinda felt like a strict diet was all apart of the process.
