Hell no. American athletes are weak for the most part, including our olympic lifters. For a shot putter to be considered above average in the soviet union he needs to be able to close grip bench 450.

I wouldn't anyway. Its a horrible, dangerous exercise. Very compressive to the lumbar vertebrae. No reason the screw up my back. Oly lifting sucks nuts anyway.

Just recently managed 80kg (at 94-94kg bw) for an easy clean rep... then subsequently failed to get 82,5kg above eyelevel...
One of the hardest movements in my opinion.. even small increases can absolutely shut you down.

I don't know what the deal is really, I can pretty comfortable rep 70-75kg, but once I get to 80 or above it just stops. Just can't get it up high enough passed the eyes from the shoulders to continue pushing it out. And I don't have to deal with long limbs or anything at 1.78m. (By comparison, I pushpress up to 110kg and jerk 140kg).

i never go higher than 25kgs a side for standing military press to high risk on the back even with a belt

Why bother if it's such a risk?
Work your back/lower back when doing back or lower back, lol... I don't see the purpose of doing a mass exercise and limiting the weight that it's no longer an effective mass movement. But you sure work everything else!
