Honest thoughts
I only suffer when you post. ;D
-
Its a combo deal, to some extent, but I find great pleasure in the toil required to achieve greatness.
-
I'm a man of faith and because of the work God has done in me it has changed me. I recognize FAR more blessings and positives in my life than ever before....from great to small. Further, in those moments of trials and suffering I'm slowly yet more easily recognizing the opportunities for blessings. It's easy to praise the good moments (and there are many), but I experience tremendous growth in times of suffering (there are those moments also). In general I have much greater pleasure even in the suffering. I give glory to God for that.

nothing against you mate but most people here in Germany do not want to see that again. It is a symbol of hatred and mass Genocide. I have spoke to a few WW2 vets here and believe me they do not like to see it. maybe if some people heard their stories of Stalingrad then the Glamour would fade quickly.

Little of both.I honestly think if you dont have rough times you will never truly appreciate the good.

Nothing about electricity in title and only one spelling error. Could not be marty.

2 and no question mark, but I had to lose characters to fit

You need rough times to be able to appreciate the good times more.
To be able to appreciate the little things in life.

Everything and I mean EVERYTHING is chemical and hormones.
Happiness is a formula. You just have to be a chemist and understand what you are doing.
You can engineer any feeling u want with a bit of practice.
Pretty sure 99% of you don't even understand what I am talking about.

Question if I may....do you believe non believers end up in hell? This question and various answers I have heard has always intrigued me.

Buddy of mine went to a funeral on MDMA, said it was awesome.

I deleted mostly because it was not as funny as I thought.

I'm from Germany also.
It isn't really THAT funny.

In the end the love you take is equal to the love you make.

Yeah and what about the comedown? Seratonin drops below base levels and you want to kill yourself. Law of diminishing returns also kicks in so you can never regain same high as first time... mdma is fun if you can do it odd time. Too much leads to long term issues (memory loss lowered iq) and also lowers base seratonin levels so less happy off it.
Another example is how do you top winning the lottery? It's all downhill from there. One massive high followed by fleeting moments of hedonism til you drop below where you were.
Anyway, side issue.
I'm with Kwon. You need the lows to appreciate the highs. That's why they say youth is wasted on the young. Imagine having the rubber joints and the energy and enthusiasm you had as a kid now?
To answer OP I get more pleasure now; more balanced mentally so I can cope and be resilient to hardship and appreciate good times even if that just means having a productive week or laughing my ass off to podcast I listen to (thebiggestproblemintheun iverse.com) with my son. I've had the hedonism and it was fun but I grew out of it.

There are the occasional good times, but, for the most part, life is a fvcking grind.
-
From the time I was born until I was 21 my life was hell , I have managed to turn my life around now I feel happier than I ever have in my adult life

Good to hear Che, for me it was the other way around.
It was great until around 35+ when it turned into hell.
It's somewhat decent these days though but never thought i'd manage to get through to my 40s during that rough patch.

Depression?
-
Depression?
Loss of loved ones, not one but several within a short timespan.
Took a toll on me.
-
Depression?
You can be depressed even if all is ostensibly well. If you get through shit times you get stronger and appreciate good times.
I'm probably not alone in having had money before and lost it all and now I have it again but you bet I learned from my mistakes and enjoy it more having lived in shit accommodation, been in debt and felt hopeless.
I'd love another kid now I've a house and garden and stable life... pity about the juice.

I agree

Like in bodybuilding you need resistance (read: suffering/obstacles) in life to build strength.
In the long run suffering is the better of the two.

Sorry to hear it brother.
My condolences.

There are the occasional good times, but, for the most part, life is a fvcking grind.
Sitting in traffic and spending half the day emailing and contacting clients isn't fun but the moment you get a wad of cash or a thanks for help alleviates the shitty tedious stuff you have to do.
I worked my balls off and risked money since i got back from hols... few days later after stress, driving a shitload and networking I trebled money. 3 days of stress but I'd rather that than a week triddling thumbs and praying for a call for work.

Sorry to hear this buddy. Glad you came through it and know it gets easier.

It doesn't matter. Both are transient states that evaporate before you can put 'em on the scales to weigh up. Besides, ain't a hard time been invented that I cannot handle. Fact. Jack.

This is the correct mindset.

A huge fan of a few things in (my) life, but overall, not a fan of life.
Mostly, I'd imagine, because of the true ugliness of so many members of our species.
(Like the fella in this thread who prattles on about being a man of god. These dim bulbs never can come to the realization that "faith" has led man to the outer reaches of horror.)
