It seems as though he's moved his gym to a new location recently. Not sure when but it must have taken a lot of time. Website looks great as well

Our former premises in Meadowbank were huge....about 25,000 square feet. We were too big with heaps of gyms around us. The site is being redeveloped so for the third time we
had to move our gym. Hopefully this is the last time. We started the shift in April and what a task that was. We kept the old gym going so it was a long process. To add to the difficulty
all areas had to be covered in rubber matting. The free weights area has two layers of 10mm rubber while the remainder has 6mm. We had some members assist us which was great.
Ryan had a truck and knew how to drive a forklift so the lads chipped in. I can honestly say it was a nightmare for about 6 weeks. I did a lot of the shifting once the equipment was
delivered. A couple of the guys told me they hope they can do what I did when they are my age. I will be 73 on the 21st of this month.
We couldn't fit all the equipment in so I have stored heaps at my factory. Plus, we sold some as well. Goodness me but second hand gym equipment doesn't get much these days.
We sold a 4-way Cybex station with crossover pulleys and assisted dip plus two other stations for $1200. I can tell you I wasn't happy about that. I didn't handle those sales.
Anyway, we finally got everything transferred then took another month to sort everything out. We installed 34 bright lights in the main gym that cost over $30,000. 3 new large
flat panel TVs and a new security system that was $35,000 were installed. We hope to offer 24 hour training soon.
We acquired a new powerlifting platform for the serious guys. There is still some thinning out to do. We have way too many cardio machines and perhaps some other equipment.
I would rather have too much instead of not enough equipment. When we remove some piece of gym equipment there is always a complaint from someone who liked it. We
had to bring back a few popular pieces.
The biceps-supinator needs an additional modification before I am happy with it. Not sure if it will be returned.
By the way, the main reason for my not being here much was the continual harassment by Teutonic Knight and to a lesser extent Hurricane Beef. The latter disappeared and we haven't
seen much of TK lately.

Basile, would you offer me a free training session?
Would you train me on your bicep supination machine?

No. I don't do personal training. Biceps-supinator is for my exclusive use. No homo here.

That's messed up. I cannot believe you would deny a getbigger the use of your bicep supinator/time machine. I could travel back in time while working my biceps!!

I used to offer a free workout to Getbiggers but those days are long gone. There are some exceptions.
If I know who you are then I can meet you at the gym. Anonymous Flotsam need not apply! Hope this helps. Btw, I am seldom at our gym so showing up and saying
you are from Getbig won't impress the staff one bit.

What if we set up a meeting at night, around 9:00pm and walk on the beach, then head out to the wild and look at kangaroos together?

We have a policy that no members are allowed to carry on business in the gym. Staff are forbidden to sell drugs, etc. I know some of the lads use gear. That is their business. We have had guys sell gear in the parking lot years ago. Truth be told, bodybuilders don't tell me what they are doing re supplements. That is the way I like it. I haven't sold steroids or other drugs to anyone let alone gym members. We no longer sell supplements because one of my instructors set up a store a few years ago and the heads go there. I honestly can't sell supplements because I consider them unnecessary. I tell that to those who ask but the knuckleheads still go and buy protein, etc.
The video is right about one thing, gyms are high investment, low return businesses. Also they are time consuming because most are open from early in the morning until late at night.
There are gyms everywhere now. Windsor has 6 gyms and a population of about 26,000. All those gyms can't make a profit. Three are open 24/7.

3 Large flat screen TVs and a security system cost you $35k?! Shouldn't have been more than $12k

If I had a gym I would have hidden cameras installed in the female changing rooms and toilets and perv on them all day all night while masturbating profusely.
I would inject myself with boatloads of test and hit on any vagina with a pulse in my gym and bring them back up to my office for blowjobs and the rest.
I would import vast quantities of steroids from Ukraine or Poland and start distributing them in my gym along with a bit of ching and mdma for a nice mark up.
I would compete and travel around with bikini whores and do private sex shows and shit for rich sick twisted people and strip shows for hen parties.
I would post on GB all day and argue about comparison shots.
Living the dream

For a gym his size, that sounds about right. You also have to include the parking section and outdoor security is much more expenssive

Gotta love those
blue navy paddings :-\

We had a good security setup in the previous gym. Lots of cameras, etc. Left the lot because it is old technology. The new cameras show much more detail. Every area has a couple of cameras so it adds up. I balked at the price but that is what they charge. The TVs were separate from the security quote. We still have to put up huge banner type photos of some champions. I have already done the work for them.
After all these years having a huge 25 or 30 thousand square foot gym I realize we were too big. Now that everyone is together it is a far better atmosphere. I wish we didn't have boxing. We got rid of the aerobics so lost some of our
members. 15 people in the gym looks busy whereas in the old gym it would look empty with that few there. No wonder all those smaller chain gyms are so popular. They are doing something right.

Holy sh!t!
I'm glad I wasn't involved in this moving job.

I'll give Vince props for using technologies at his age (and generally being quite a tough nut), but putting up a website as an image map in this age and day... If you've had thousands on lighting, spend a few hundreds on at least a basic website. Hell, I could scrape it up for 200 bucks for a fellow GetBigger just for the sake of it.

You have to understand that my ex runs our gym. My two daughters help her. So I haven't had any input on the website. Here I am on my computer most days and they don't involve me. That is why I spend a lot of time going out shooting photos.

Basile, would love for you to photograph me one day.

That explains it then. For a sec I thought you hired Goodrum to build a site.

I can't explain it but something about these comments just crack me up.

You would hardly find them amusing if someone made them about you!

Sounds like you paid out 'Straya money getting set up. Fucking licensed trades. ::) Wish you good success in the new location, V.

Goodrum, how do you feel about Basil's claim to be the first person ever to manufacture a linear bearing smith machine?
