Once again the ignorant masses are herded by an ignorant and agenda-driven media to believe that steroids and other PEDs should be banned
from athletes who wish to take them. I don't care if a guy takes amphetamines, Anadrol, marijuana, etc. I just want to see the best a guy can be
against the best another guy can be. It's like living in the Victorian Age with all these damn socially imposed morals imposed by guys who have no idea
or who have never strived to become great at anything requiring physical determination, work and guts.
America has refused to let men be men and it shows in EVERY facet of American life, values and foreign policy.

thats bull shit for smoking weed
it dont even help you performance wise

this is total bullshit 5 years and his career for smoke some grass wtf

i read some artical that 99.8 Percent of NBA players smoke the reefer
that is on the low end of the estimation however could be close to 99.9 percent

Very convenient for Dana White to house the UFC in a state which legalizes gambling, a pastime one could seriously argue is not only more
addictive than marijuana, but far more detrimental to not only the person himself, but also to his entire family.
Dana plays $50,000 per hand- - yes, I know this to be true- but can come down as some Moral Warlord on Diaz for smoking pot?
The UFC doesn't really want the best fighters to be at their best. They want guys they can control and who the hell can control any of the
Diaz Brothers?
I say they set up fights and just charge an Internet "Pay Per View" and sell tickets at a small venue. Something like Metamoris does for their
BJJ matches. If marketed correctly, they can make very good money and on their own terms. I know because I did the contract for Royler Gracie
when he fought Eddie Bravo at Metamoris ll.
-
What a waste of talent. While I agree that the punishment is rediculous, how many times can you be stupid enough to fail a test? He has nobody to blame but himself.
He obviously didnt take his fighting career seriously enough.
-
harley i think we can both agree the ufc ownership is all about total power and having complete control
-
sources are telling me they're planning to sue Nevada Commission a la Tom Brady.
Nick Diaz speak the truth!!
-
Must suck to get suspended from the National Sustainable Agriculture Coalition.
-
Hey Guys,
Not that Nick Diaz needs me, but I offer my legal and managerial services to him for free if he likes.
He could become very financially stable under the right management with a career that has him fighting several times per month
in smaller venues with Internet "Pay Per View" type revenue. Another big benefit would be that he could seek his own sponsors and
negotiate with them as he sees fit and not be made to choke down a pittance of sponsorship "money" from the UFC and not be forced
to wear that ridiculous uniform which is meant just as much to stifle all individuality as it is to reduce the fighter's pay but not the UFC's.
If Nick were my client, I would tell him to do whatever the hell he wants AS LONG AS he makes weight and shows up to the fight. He's a
professional and scared of no one so that part is easy.

No one else is put in harm's way by Nick having marijuana in his system when he enters the cage. Driving drunk risks the lives of everyone else.

Great post. I fucking hate this brave new world, run by a bunch of cuckolded elitist control freaks.
ANd fuck the UFC, I have slowly lost interest in this circus. I guess that is what the Elitist Fertitta Pigs wanted was to alienate the original fan base and appeal to betas and feminists all so they can earn an extra million a year.

No doubt he has acquired brain injury, but it is exactly his rawness and non-managed persona that sees him have such a large fan-base. Diaz could never pull of such manufactured PR like the Georges St Pierres or Ronda Rousey's of the world.
We all know the boss is obviously running cycles.

Most comprehensive Nick Diaz interview EVER:
"Moments after the Nevada Athletic Commission handed Nick Diaz a controversial five-year suspension, the popular fighter opened up to MMAFighting.com, perhaps like never before."
Here's what Diaz had to say:
"I'm the only one who's invested in a fight life. That's why none of these other guys can ever say shit. They're too worried about what their families and their wives and the people around them will think, so they're too scared to speak up. That's why I invested everything in my fight life. That's why I come off the way I do and always have.
Every other fighter has a life on the side. I've never had another job. I didn't graduate eighth grade. I could have, but I got into too many fights in middle school.
My mom and dad taught me nothing but ABCs. I was moved from school to school, put on drugs and made fun of by classmates because after being disruptive in class the teachers would always tell the other kids I was on meds and sometimes don't take them.
That's fucked up. You don't know what that does to someone. I wanted to beat up everyone in class, even the girls who would say some thing like, 'What's wrong? You didn't take your medication?'
I had to get inter-district agreements to stay in the same school because my mom would lose her house and I'd have to move in with my grandparents in Lodi.
You know what it's like move into a preppy Lodi school after being in a ghetto Stockton school with black and Asian kids?
They would try to get me kicked out and put me on drugs. My sixth grade class was the first school responsible for imposing all of the mandatory outfits for kids. There was no one like me there when I got in the high school. I would get in fights with kids from that same school and get kicked out of high school.
I had a really hot girlfriend and was very self-conscious about what I was wearing and couldn't afford nice things and got in fights because her ex-boyfriend was a year older and the mascot on the football team, so the coaches would tell the football players that I was bad news and they would start shit. A lot of them were on steroids, a lot of them were Mexican gangbangers people who were on meth and getting stabbed.
Before anybody in my class made it out of high school, I was in a continuation, which I also got kicked out of because my friend Bart was also in the class and got into a big fight, which the teacher had to break up and did not want either of us in the school anymore, so I tried homeschool but that was never going to work. I was so far behind, it was never going to happen and by then I was training to be a pro fighter. My girlfriend knew it but had started dating Bart to make me jealous. He had a gun and neither of us wanted to piss him off because he would walk around with it.
Before I ever had my first pro fight, July 5, 2000, Bart had a party at his house. The night before, Stephanie had told me she loved me. After the party, I was gonna go back to her house with her brother -- he was my best friend -- but some friends weren't doing well and headed to my house. So I had to go.
An hour later I got a call from her mom saying, 'Are you with Stephanie?' She came straight to my house to get me, took me up and down the Frontage Road on Highway 99 by my Grandma's house next to their trailer park.
There was a wreck on the freeway. I jumped the fence and saw only one car and ambulances.
She had walked and killed herself on the freeway. The girl I loved more than anything had tried to kill herself for the third time and succeeded.
She was gonna go to college. She was an avid student and and was doing everything I couldn't while living in a trailer park where everyone was doing dope. Meanwhile, I focused my whole high school years worried about what her and her friends would think if I lost a fight to her ex-boyfriend and football friends. I could never make attendance, hung out with the wrong people to hold my ground as a fighter and someone who would fight for was important to me.
There was no way I was gonna go to school. I had no money, no car. I would have driven there and stopped her. After that, I was grown up. It was all over. I wasn't a kid anymore. I won my first fight in the first round with a choke and all I could think about was her, just like when I was in school.
I would run seven miles and back to her grave just to promise her I would make it as a fighter like she knew and had told me she knew and was proud of me.
So this sport and this commission have done everything to stop me from being in the position that I belong. That's the only reason why I haven't stayed in that position and come off as the fighter and person that I know I am and can be.
They suspended me for a third time. For five fucking years for something that makes the whole world a better place.
I've been investing in that understanding from the beginning. And I'm not going to start being someone that I'm not.
Honestly, I wanted to get up and walk out on the third question, but I didn't do that. Now I have to deal with that. These guys advised me not to do that.
I wanted to get up and tell them what I think about them to their face. I didn't do that. And now I have to live with that.
I'm the original Conor McGregor. I'm the original model of Conor McGregor. He wouldn't be who he is if it wasn't for me. Nothing against him. I'm the original real deal. I never did steroids in my entire life. I had to learn how to fight the real way and the right way. That's way I'm the best fighter in the entire world.
Guys like Conor, who are gonna make more money than me can see how to do it, as well as negotiate what they want in their contract using a team and agency and lawyers instead of their crooked jiu-jitsu trainer and coach, who was my manager for the majority of my career except for my last fight when I found the right agency on my own and signed with them, and I didn't even graduate the motherfucking eighth grade.
But in the end, I'm just upset I can't be there for my brother right now since he's gonna be fighting soon. It's my bad he even got into this sport and he gets his face kicked in and they don't even pay him.
I got us in this, and if I don't make any money, I don't have any way to get us out."

I too have heard Dana has quite the gambling habit. I bet the Feds wouldn't have to look to hard to see the action he puts on MMA fighting...Whether here or abroad. I bet he has a group of people that lay action on his fights for him...

Understand defending the weed and whatnot, but no reason to throw gambling under the bus. Both 'victimless,' so to speak.

The penalty does seem excessive, but he can hardly complain in receiving some form of punishment, considering he was well aware of the rules. Now he wants a pity party. It's like the many NFL players getting caught for weed. You can choose to play football, or smoke weed. If the NFL, or UFC for that matter, say it's against the rules if you want to work there, you don't do it. It's not complicated.

Not crazy about protecting people from themselves is all. You could make a similar argument against drugs and prostitution, ultimately the responsibility of he who consents. Certainly you've also seen potheads whose abuse has caused loved ones harm - I know one right now, about to lose everything.
Back on track, though; yeah, Nick's punishment is beyond ridiculous. Ask Jon Jones.

Nick Diaz and Kai Greene have only themselves to blame. Follow the rules or suffer the consequences. You pride yourselves on your independence and have respect from the public for doing things your own way. So stop bitching and take your punishments like the
fatherless insecure overcompensating beta pussiesalpha males you are.

Dear The Ugly,
You make a very good point. I too, am against Government intrusion. And as far as legalizing prostitution, well...
I do think there is politics at play and Jon Jones has been fed from a silver spoon on every single matter. No one talks about his
DWI in NY State with his Bentley prior to the big accident in which he left cash and cocaine in his car after hurting a woman in her car.
Let's just let it all go and let the guys do whatever the hell they want as long as they show up on time for their fights.
Just wait till Ronda screws up and they will go to all lengths to fix her right up. And this Conor McGregor stuff is so unreal. We get it, the UFC has to make
money but damn, let's everybody just relax and see it for what it is.

Im not a fan of any drugs but 5 years for weed is beyond stupid. Wtf is wrong with the UFC?
also--UFC champ Ronda Rousey said of Nick Diaz, who was suspended five years for marijuana use: "It's so not right for him to be suspended five years for marijuana. I'm against them even testing for weed at all. It's not a performance-enhancing drug ... it's only tested for political reasons."

Yeh its a bit out dated, surely the drug testing should be for PED's... But they know the rules, in alot of jobs youd be sacked and out for life if you failed a drug test at work, and that's for a 'normal' wage, not a privileged fighter/athlete money

very interesting..
First I've heard of this.

Isn't there some strains of weed that act as a stimulant? Rogan is 100% spot on. Everyone thinks you smoke weed and sit on the coach all day and do nothing. Just not the case...
-
Weed makes you concentrate on what you are doing far deeper, it magnifies what you are doing hence music sounds better because you are more involved in it. Food tastes better, reading a book you get more immersed in the book. Ever played a video game high? You complete levels you struggled like mad with sober.
I personally found weed has helped my training for boxing tremendously and all aspects of it. Pad work I feel the rythmn so much better...it's definitely performance enhancing but five year ban is stupid as fuck.

Ya 5 year is retarded. But didn't he fail a couple of other tests over the years. How many chances do you give this bozo? Without weed, I bet he can't fight.
-

I've used it in many differend physical activities and it does work as a stimulant, especially sativa. It doesn't give you extra powers but it can make you much more tolerant to pain and so you will push your self for the extra few reps you would have probably left out if you were sober.
-

You're right he failed twice before so eventually the buck has to stop but five years is so massive it just doesn't seem proportionate to the offence. All of these guys are on something to give them an edge, I have a feeling a lot of shit is gonna come out of the woodwork that will surprise people and stuff more hardcore than weed.
Not saying he is but look at Luke Rockhold. Reckon he is taking some funky shit? There are so many that just have that look but are yet to get popped. In fact, finding the ones not on anything would be the hardest part. Like a needle in a haystack.

it's just sad that in todays world we can't perform our best in activities we love.
Who here loves training? Who here couldn't train without "getting" something first before they go train? LOL!
Who here loves what they do as much as a dog fetching a stick like a maniac without realizing it's exhausted after 100 runs? Yup, I think I hear kritters

very interesting..
Good video. Anyone who knows weed it's Rogan. Diaz is a triathlete. The kid blazes up and runs 26 miles, and bikes 100 miles and swims and shit. Without weed, I'd bet Diaz can't even get off the couch. 5 years is still retarded. Give him a year. And put in place maybe a 5 year ban after failing 5 diff times.

So you're saying that weed DOES improve physical performance in which case it's rightfully banned as a PED and makes Nick a 3x cheat.
