Title: Best lighting used in a show ever
Post by: el numero uno on September 30, 2015, 02:37:42 PM
Granted the lineup was awesome but the lighting was incredible too.

Why don't they use that kind of lighting anymore?

The media would label the show as racist.

Its that '90s graininess' due partially to bad picture quality. It makes the guys look slightly better. Still great lighting.

52:40 Flex used the worst posing music ever lol

53:30 Levrone used the best posing music for his routine.

Didn't expect to see Gustavo there.

Wheeler looks ridiculous, as does Levrone. Maybe Kevin's best?

I know nothing about light meters nor anything about lighting a contest properly but We used to tie a lamp to the basketball net and ask the competitors to not step outside of that two foot lit area during their posing routine.

It worked well back then and kept the competitors from bounding/ dancing  all over the 'stage'.

I think the lighting int he above video is great partially due to the fact that the background is pure black and the contenders are under a bright light.

Most of the shows now light up the background so that everyone can see who the sponsors are.

This is a big problem in modern bodybuilding, to even stand out in the harsh lighting you have to put on so much bronzer you look like a black face. They need to dim the lights.
