You can DIE from not taking insulin correctly. Some idiot comes in to Walmart who "self diagnosed" himself with diabetes and takes 20IU of insulin, eats nothing, and dies.
-
You can also die from not taking it when you need it. This can't happen with test.

No it can't. Even if you are diabetic and don't take your insulin and eat 100g carbs, you're blood glucose will only get up to about 400. Maybe you could die if you ate like 300g carbs. But no normal person eats 300g carbs in a meal, let alone a diabetic.
-
I thought it was only certain types you could buy without a script and the needles required one or was up to the pharmacist discretion. I could be wrong, as it was 10-12 years ago that a college roommate did it to lean out for spring break. That said, I agree wholeheartedly with the OP on this matter.

WRONG! A guy not too far from where I live just died in prison because they wouldn't allow him to take his insulin.

Well ya, from continuously not using insulin, of course he will die. But by not taking it for a meal, you won't die.

If slin became script only a lot of people would die. That was my point.

actually you can. 2 conditions that can manifest with excessive blood sugar and other precipitating factors are DKA and HHNK both can lead to death if not intervened on quickly. Also maintaining elevated glucose levels will lead to microvascular destruction. many people suffer blindness, frequent amputations, impaired healing ability, and kidney destruction. not a fun way to go out.

A diabetic who doesnt take their insulin can get hyperosmolar hyperglycemic nonketotic syndrome or diabetic ketoacidosis, both of which can be fatal. HTH
Edit: beaten but point stands

Well, insulin dosing is not something you just play around with, so I'm assuming those people have seen a doctor before to know how to take it. So therefore they should have a script by default.

No, slin is perishable and when people travel they sometimes lose it or maybe drop it and break it whatever. Lots of examples because it is a life saving med that is needed immediately unlike test.

That's only like 220g carbs but ya I get your point.

300 iu slin (humalog) will kill you unless you get glucagon iv.
Maybe that was op's point as humalog comes in 300iu bottles.
Thing is noone normal will die on low test but someone could die without epinephrin, insulin etc. A girl here died after eating something that contained nuts, her mother raced to pharmacy and the fucking dolts would not give epinephrin leading to her death.
You have idiots on both sides. Those that would say give me a script when youre dying and be refused and those that would overdose or shoot oil in veins. Common sense is never common.

Insulin use for bodybuilding has not become an epidemic yet, so to speak. So even though there are risks involved it's not popular enough to abuse that they won't have them on the shelves anymore. If we hear of people dying left and right from using insulin for bodybuilding purposes, then yes maybe this another thing that gym rats are abusing and will be banned. But as far as many pharmacists and people who work over the counter know, there is no other reason why you would need insulin.
People like Bostin Loyd who attempt to have "no filter" and tell the people that they're asking to get insulin from that they're using it for nutrient absorption...They're exposing the bodybuilding community and in the end he's just gonna make it harder and harder to access things as people become more and more wary of this stuff going on and are more reluctant to give you what you ask for....
Believe it or not...We need liars in the bodybuilding community...Not for the purpose of selling supplements because that's just wrong...But to hide the general truths about what is in our fridges and cabinets and the extents we go to better ourselves...People already have a bad image with all of these liars...Imagine if everything was uncut??? The world would be a different place....As if it's not already class 3 drugs we're dealing with in most cases ::)

Insulin, epinephrin and any other emergency drug (adrenaline) should be available off prescription in emergencies or else you get the retarded situation i mentioned where someone died from a simple nut allergy and the pharmacist said "i cant do it" without a prescription... even though the poor girl's head was probably red and twice normal size. Like i said, common sense.
