His prime was 1996-1997
His downhill slide started in 1998, and it was fast & furious

That likely saved his life.

Squatting nearly 700lbs.... In a power rack that is designed for safety
but, the safety pins were inexplicably absent. No spotters present. (There is a schmoe's hand present in the far left however).
-
Great pic from 1996

Never trust a man with a mustache. He has something to hide.

I know I should but I never use the safety pins either. I wonder how many people actually do after you have been training for a while?

Always.

Fux was a total beast........but his stomach was starting to bulge before the accident, huge distension...
As big a rami is, he isn't as much as an imposing figure, imagine how small the current crop would look next to him
-
turned pro weighing 230. competed in the Arnold 8 months later weighing 280 :o :o

This. It would be interesting to to see him next to this year's Olympia lineup.

He simply upped the dose and added several new chemicals....

correct me if i am wrong cause this was years ago , but wasnt chris lund like encouraging him to squat all that weight? i could have swore i read that
-
Yeh, he wanted real action pics did our Chris... Probly took the safety bars out to add more of an edge to his shoot...
-
Always squatting outside of the rack with bumperplates you can ditch if required.
But then, I'm only squatting in the low 200kg's.
-
He was only about a year away from Stage Four palumboism when he had his squat accident so all we missed was him going the way of Kovacs and giving us more material to laugh at.
-
agree with the post above, huge distension of his stomach probably 2nd to kavacs, insane hamstrings and back beast
that video of fux and nasser lifting together on youtube is disturbing with them both having monster stomachs, and i am all for the freaks

It's Fux.
-
I bet he took some truly brutal/ruthless shits.

That's Dave Palumbo^^^^^^^^^^^.
Fux's lats were more cobra shaped like Dorian's.
-
This was probably Fux's best picture that was taken in his career.
-
Lets do the comparison. This Palumbo...

Can see the sidegut :-X
-
It's Fux.
No--it's Dave
-
No--it's Dave
I will concede; and say that it is indeed Dave
But it was in a google image search for JP Fux.

Second time I've seen confusion over that pic on these boards.

That was his peak, his best ever showing and was unlucky not to make top 6.... Be interesting to see where he'd place now...

At least he wears the XXL shirt (hiding his physique every way possible)
WooSHHHHHHHHHH
-
Looks so much better than little shrimps like heath omg bodybuilding seriously is dead
-
Fux was a beast!!! He had the right tools to be Mr. Olympia, but later in his career he sacrificed size for conditioning. What a shame really. He compared very well to Dorian.
-
Last one..
-
Fux was slightly taller too, right?
-
A true freak and mass monster, probably the thickest back ever seen, compares very well to Yates, slightly taller if i remember correctly... Always overlooked, fairly complete, ruined everything chasing too much size with an horrible distended stomach...
