LIONEL MESSI FACING 22-MONTH SENTENCE
Messi and his father are accused of defrauding Spanish authorities more than $5 million in unpaid taxes after a judge rejected a request by prosecutors to drop the charges against the Barcelona and Argentina striker. Story

as if....he is a treasure over there...more popular than the president himself...will not do time....Diego Maradona still owes millions to Napoli for taxes he allegedly didn't pay back in the 80s....he still travels back and forth to there with no issues...

No way they imprison Messi during his playing prime.
-
LOL. He's the biggest sportsman on the planet right now (alongside Cristiano and Phil Heath) and probably holds more influence than 90% of world leaders.
Not a chance in hell he's going to jail even if he murdered someone.

LOL at 22 month sentence. watch them fix it up quick before he gets over his latest injury. The big clubs will be lining up to pay the spanish government 5 times that amount if it'll get them messi.
Would be hilarious if he puts in a transfer request because of this. The Catalans would probably start another civil war.

A couple of signed Barca jerseys and selfies solves this issue in no time ::)
if I were him I wouldn't pay any taxes either, hopefully he is abusing them for land and insider business deals... this is the way of the world

not in a million years, higher chance of the Spanish Prime Minister going to prison than Messi.
-
Adidas will pay it for him.
-
Your joking right, he's nowhere near Heaths fame

The charges were dropped. We are talking spain...where a judge ordered the positive blood tests of athletes be destroyed in the trial of a doctor convicted of doping footballers and tennis players.
Edit: didnt see they have charged him. But nothing will happen.
