Didn't he have heart problems, but still juice?
-
he's been trying for over 5 years or so now no? doesn't look like it's happening
-
Didn't he have heart problems, but still juice?
This has nothing to do with heart problems. Surgeons accidentally severed his spine. Give the guy a break. He's trying to raise money to be able to buy assisted walking devices.
-
Act as a role model for the younger generation? For being what, a drug balloon?
I'll keep my money, thanks. There's always a new metal CD to buy.
-

But he wouldn't have heart problems if he continued to juice hard. Thus, he would not have needed surgery. Who knows how much effect it had on his heart.
I mean, its great hes trying to get his life back together, but Ill put my money toward other donations.

Donate five bucks you cheap fuck. You spend 40 hours a week on a muscle worship site and get your panties in a twist because a guy juices. Piss off Kunt.
-
didn't he synthol his arms too?

The doctors are at fault due to a botched surgery?
Does he has a lawsuit against them?
-
He's taking the easy way. Doesn't want to put in time at the squat rack.
-
Okay, 145k for a life-altering malpractice lawsuit of this type would be nothing. This would be a huge payout - many times that amount if it's true.
Either we are not getting the whole story here - or he has the worst lawyer of all days.
Calling Harley Breite...

Why would I donate five bucks? Id rather donate five bucks to a children's cancer center.
I am sorry you're mad that we will not support your hero.
ps - I spend more like 38 hours on a muscle worship site.

UNLESS, he signed some sort of waiver recognizing the possible side effects of this specific type of surgery. Id imagine that certain surgeries carry high risk and as such, people know the risks of the surgery and are required to sign something, which alleviates the doctor of any responsibility if something goes wrong.
-
I'm not saying this to be a dick, and I'm not sure if you still get the money when it's over, but he shouldn't have gone for the whole $145,000 in one giant swoop. He just won't get it :(. He should've pieced it out.
-
If he recovers, he'll juice as soon as possible.

I can't respect cheap sanctimonious assholes who cry steroids when a bodybuilder goes down but I can always respect smarmy sarcasm. Well played mate.

So he has no health insurance?

Last name Dim
Says a lot.

His prospects here are dim.

How about no.
But you know what, I should help the genuinely needy so I just donated $50 to the Rottweiler rescue lady at http://www.bigskyrottrescue.org and maybe give the same amount to the local rabbit rescue.

I was walking at 2, this fool must nearly be 40 and can't walk, fuck him

A lot of shitty comments about a guy who cant walk. Class as usual on getbig ::)

Where is the IFBB to step in with a large donation? I'm sure the nfl, NBA or even WWE would for their athletes? Is there an athletes rep or someone we can ask about this?

Groink ruined it for all the have nots....

If we can't all chip in to help a fellow insecure beta male who grew up idolizing men with big muscles, then we are lost as a forum.

How the fuck did they accidentally severe his spine. Did he sue them yet and get a few million? Something is not right with this story, I don't buy it for a second. He should be a millionaire at this point from medical malpractice and he's asking for 300k from the plebs?
-

His spine was not severed. More likely his lumbar artery / arteries which branch off of the Aorta were covered by a stent placed within his aorta.
Not an uncommon complication
Hope this helps

Thanks doc. When someone can't walk, it's easier to just say his spine was severed. Accuracy is no substitute for laziness.

wouldn't he have one big law suit if this was true... wouldnt need a penny
-
Did not read thread but I met him a couple of times ( not just a meet n greet), shared a taxi with him and also a couple other events. I found him to be very humble, gentlemanly, shy and overall a decent guy. I was especially impressed with how he treated his wife.
-

Im assuming if this is a possible risk with the surgery, then the patient would have to sign something acknowledging such risk, thus alleviating the doctor of all responsibility.

Donated. Both me and my girlfriend helped out. Good luck to him.

That's a shitty story but why just not use a wheel chair - and not raise $200k for a fancy tech toy he's convinced himself he needs? How many kids would $200k save in developing countries?
-

In 2007 he had acute aortic dissection and stroke. The tear was repaired and the stroke resolved. I doubt he was stented for a dissection and was likely repaired with a graph. Either way he should not have gone back to bodybuilding and competing at the Olympia level. The repair failed requiring them to go in again for a secondary repair and he was paralyzed.
-
I wouldn't donate a penny to Dimdumb.

Seems kinda like he wants to buy an Ironman suit.

Yeah guy, I think when you're paralysed from the waist down, I reckon you've earned your right to think about yourself.
-

He's delusional. He thinks some stupid robot that makes him "walk" upright is going to re-establish his self esteem. It's not. He needs to accept the situation and change his thinking. I wish him the best but this is NOT the answer.

Based on what evidence do you think that? I'm interested to know what experience you have with paralysed people that gives you this insight - so that I can be sure that you're not doing what I suspect you're doing, which is just outright fucking guessing what a person in a completely different life situation to you, should be thinking.
-

I assume you're paralysed then since you volunteered your opinion on this matter?
-
Wait, so does his dick work or not?
-
Again, I feel for the guy but using something like this is not practical at all.
You're sitting in a wheelchair - yes, but you can be VERY functional unlike when using an exoskeleton which at this point at least looks like a poor prototype that's more about your ego and less about your function.
-
Some of you on here are cold ruthless miserable sub-human trash
-
From what I remember at the time a high proportion of people who have this surgery end up paralyzed.
Problem is if you don't have the surgery you die.
-
He should have gotten proper health insurance. Now he gambled his health away spending all his money on gear....

I assume you're paralysed then since you volunteered your opinion on this matter?
The only opinion I gave you was that of the fact that I suspected you had no practical experience with these products.
Which is true, isn't it?
Off to youtube to find a rather vague 47 seconds of someone using one, possibly the first time by the mile wide grin on his face and the handler behind him ::)
Sorry to disturb your quest to weigh in on subjects you know nothing of - I hope that you are not afflicted with something like that, one day and consequently do not have to have endure some fucking random kunt on the internet who knows absolutely nothing about what he is talking about* dictating what you should or should not be doing.
(* credit where credit is due, you do know that wheelchair sport is GREAT ::))

He always had a ton of oil in his arms...I think it's funny how it's implied that people should be entitled to give him money...Much worse things happen to much less popular people..He's lucky he's getting any support whatsoever...Was never an elite athlete

Can someone please post a link to Kris's plight on Phil Heath's and Kai Greene's social media accounts? I'd like to compare their responses. This could have happened to either of them.

If his injuries were cause by negligence on the part of the anesthesiologist, surgeon or hospital, then the malpractice award should be covering all his needs. Maybe he needs a better lawyer.

Malpractice and Physician negligence suits are now capped in certain states.
If im not mistaken... Ca has a cap of 250k to the plaintiff and Ga its 350k.
Product liability still has an unlimited payout tho, so bad pills would allow a patient to sue for millions, bit malpractice or negligence has a cap.... a very low cap

There should be no cap. Just alleviated shitty doctors who don't want to pay out. They kill someone and families are only awarded 250K. Ridiculous.
Medical industry is a scam.

Yeah, the worst part is in the Plastic Surgery capital of the world... of the surgery is botched, you get 250k, well after Lawyer fees, Expenses... you might get $125k... even if it results in your death...thats all the family gets...
basically in 2003-2005 there were huge AMA lobbyist that went to the state level lawmakers to get this cap.
Shit is crazy right.

To be 100% accurate its a stent graft
typically endovascular repair or EVAR
Via groin and deployed in the aorta.
;)

Come on guys! We're up to $7600 in just 3 days. Let's help Kris reach his goal of 145k!
Kudos to those who have donated so far!
- $200 from fitness guru Lazar Angelov
$200 from Blackstone Labs (Aaron Singerman and PJ Braun)
$200 from Mr. Olympia Dorian Yates
$200 from IFBB Pro Milos Sarcev
- $100 from IFBB Pro Hide Yamagishi
$100 from Bodybuilding writer and MC Lonnie Teper
$100 from IFBB Pro Ray Arde - $50 from IFBB Pro Mike Dragna
Together we can help Kris walk again. This is HUGE! Please do what you can to chip in and help spread the word.
-
-
In my opinion there are far more deserving cases than this one to donate to, what about all the military vets who are In a similar situation. The IFBB should have a responsibility to ensure competitors get regular health check ups to stop this kind of thing from occurring all too often, in a life or death situation the IFBB should foot the bill too. This does not seem to be a life or death situation from what I can tell..
-
Help him walk again so he can restart using all the gear that created all his problems? His might be curable, his mental problems will persist....

You undermine the seriousness of kim's situation. Bodybuilders self image is sensitive. Have you ever had a week break from leg training? Well just imagine how paranoid kim must be. His legs are turning into tooth picks and he can't take any bathroom selfies with thongs on now. His self esteem must be low for losing all those hard earned gains so we all must support him so he can again go to the gym to train legs. Dying of thirst in africa is one thing but losing your leg size is a completely other hell to experience.

Hahahaha 200 from blackstone
I thought they'd drop a couple thousand or the full amount needed being they're so successfulCome on guys! We're up to $7600 in just 3 days. Let's help Kris reach his goal of 145k!

This.

I see stuff like this and I think "shame on the IFBB bodybuilders."
What's it going to take for them to unionize and demand that the organization they make money for treats them with any respect? 99% of IFBB competitors probably lose money during a competition so where is the real loss to income if they strike? It would hurt a handful of people but even then, there's nothing to say the top 1% doesn't support improved support for the athletes.

I know it's hard but don't be suck a dick. Paraplegics have the highest rates of suicide because of the emotional toll it takes on their mind. Giving Kris the ability to walk with assistance will make all the difference in the world between his desire to live or die.

Maybe Squid Vicious is Kris Dim's mommy.
-
Perhaps Dim can get Basile to build him a cut rate version of the machine he needs....
Alas, then the forums will have to hear about "Basile's patented Anti-Paralytic Spinal Rejuvenation Machine, and Unified Theory of Veretabra Hypertrophy" for the next few decades.

We are at $10,500 which is barely enough to buy Kris a pair of gold plated crutches. Come on people, we can do better. Take a look at some of your Heroes who've made recent donations.
- Branch Warren $300
- Dave Palumboism $100
- IFBB Pro Craig Licker $25
RX Muscle Family $5

He could raise more money by just releasing a tell all book about the true sacrifices (healthy, family, friends) and drug use in the IFBB.
That would both raise money and help prevent kids from abusing their bodies, as well as save their lawn mowing money from blowing it every weekend at GNC.

This is a great point. Would be inspirational to the guys that compete in that division if he stayed with the lifestyle.

I think Kris feels entitled. He was able to walk before, hence he feels that he's entitled to donations to make him 'walk' again. Of course that'd only make him look like a freak. No practical use whatsoever. Just an ego boost.
I wish such accident to no one. It's a terrible mind fuck. But that clumsy exoskeleton is not the answer. Anyone can see that.

That's retarded logic bro. He feels entitled because he was able to walk before and he wants to walk again??? You could say the same for any quad or paraplegic. Think of all the teenagers paralyzed in diving pool accidents or football games. You would actually use the word entitled to describe their desire to walk again? You're one fucked up miserable human being.
