??? ??? ??? the play that broke ruben tejada leg and won the game for the dodgers that is????
-
i thought it was dirty and a bit excessive.......even for utley... ::) ::) ::) ::)
-
While I like the hard nosed type stuff....that crossed the line.
Expecting a rule change because of that play.
-
because of the replay utley was safe even though he actually never touched 2 nd base... safe because replay nullified the neighborhood play... guy foot was 2 inches away from touching the base. :o
-
replay won't even be a factor if not for the imperfect perfect game,,,, remember the review of hrs started after the fan reaching down helping jeter to an important hr in the playoffs vs o's 96. how would the play pic'd be called now with replay....???????
-
they even made a bobblehead of it... ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
-
gant was not too happy about the call.. ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::)

it was a brutal "slide". All he was trying to do was take out Tejada
-
I saw no issue with it.
I've seen much worse slides in baseball. I've also read lots of statements saying that Tejada should not have been trying to turn 2 there.
He should have just got the force and been done with it... I don't see this as a problem. It wasn't really that brutal... It just happened to fracture someone's leg so everyone is all pissy.
If he hadn't gotten hurt, no one would care today.

i would have no problem with it or the result had utley actually started his slide earlier, a runner is supposed to be going into the base, he had no intention of tagging the base as can be seen by review.

Many players have done the same thing.
As is the history of baseball, runners always try to impede the double play.
It's the nature of baseball. Many coaches are on his side with this, but as fans, we are always upset if it happens to "our guy".
