InsideUSC @InsideUSC
A #USC source called me during practice to say Steve Sarkisian was not in "good shape" this morning
Bryan Fischer ✔ @BryanDFischer
Two sources at USC say Steve Sarkisian was sent home by athletic director Pat Haden earlier today.
Joe Schad
@schadjoe
Steve Sarkisian will seek treatment and Clay Helton is interim coach at USC per source 7m
Alcohol--showed up loaded to practice, they shipped him to rehab.
Must have thought after not drinking for a while he could do it in moderation and control it,..............this is what happens
-
I'm sure he took one look at his roster and compared it to booster expectations and decided to get to work.....

I hear that Sark is going to fake his own death to generate sympathy, but no one would be that pathetic...would they?

They should have stuck with Orgeron. Big mistake not keeping him.

More in one day than you've actually done in a lifetime.

Sark has been as much of a train wreck as Kiffin ever was and has ha much less sanctions to deal with. As for his addiction, I hope he gets help and is able to get his life straight.

Hayden has selected two losers in a row to coach a talent rich squad. Hayden should resign.

Garrett actually made the Kiffin hire.

typical USC culture. What, pete carroll buying houses for running backs wasn't enough?
he coached drunk earlier this year. Nice.

a heroic 911 survivor and reitred general came to speak with Caroll once.
he badgered the man with 911 conspiracy theories until the dude literally had to run to his car to make it stop.
also he cheated, paid players, fed his NFL players adderall, banged college chicks, worked to get obama elected, and left in disgrace. But he's a great coach, which means we should all admire him. even tho he's essentially crap as a person.

PHOENIX — Pete Carroll is a conspiracy theorist, at least that is how the conspiracy theory goes. And it is one that has gained the Seattle Seahawks coach an unlikely following from the "9/11 Truth" movement in the lead-up to his attempt to win back-to-back Super Bowls.
Two years ago, Carroll met with former Army chief of staff and four-star general Peter Chiarelli and, according to Deadspin citing "sources," brought up many popular conspiracy theories concerned with the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, on the World Trade Center and quizzed Chiarelli about their veracity.
When asked by USA TODAY Sports on Tuesday about the "9/11 Truth" movement and supporters who back him, Carroll made no attempt to deny his interest.
"Any notoriety is good I guess," Carroll said, when told by USA TODAY Sports how he had become a favorite among Truth activists. "I will always be interested in the truth, yeah."

It's one thing to believe something. It's COMPLETELY another to badger an American hero like he did.
-
I'm with 240 on this one. Carroll may be an excellent coach but he was all wrong with this.

240, do people actually like Pete Carroll?

Some folks are willing to look past his anti-American beliefs. Personally, I cannot put "sport success through cheating" above love for country. But it's the USA, and people DO have the right to feel however they like. It's a free country.

sure, people have the right to feel what they want to, but it doesn't make it right either.
Its quite alarming that people would put sports above the love for this country. People are blinded by sports.

he's a retired 4-star general that survived the pentagon plane attack on 9/11. He's a hero.

You're either a) a simpleton or b) trolling. The fact that he lived through the Pentagon being struck on 9/11 simply means that he got lucky. The fact that he "survived" doesn't mean he did anything heroic. And Petraeus was a 4-star, is he a hero?
-
There has been only one football player in history with talent and that only because he could sing.

He served his country for 20+ years.
The only thing the coach served was adderall to his defensive backs.

Dude, don't even bother. 240 and SF1900 are two of the biggest trolls on here and that's a fact. And the fact that 240 knows nothing about the SC culture or program proves it. If you took one positive article and one negative he will ALWAYS embellish the negative. 240 and SF were doing nothing but trolling me to respond.

Why do you fawn over grown men in the first place? That is the real question you need to worry about, not what you think 240 or SF1900 are up to.

Does it even matter?
I bet that team goes on and does the same as it would have done with or without this drunk guy you are talking about.
Nothing more worthless than a "Coach". What exactly do they do?

He was also in 2 of the top 3 best Burt Reynolds movies, Cannonball Run and Hooper.

The USC culture is one of cheating elitism. You can't spell SUCK without USC. You can't spell Suck My Muscle without USC twice.

It Is being speculated that they took a day before firing him because they were ensuring that it wouldn't violate the American Disabilities Act.

Fucking pathetic what our society has become. It's like the South Park episode where Stans dad is a drunk and claims it's a disability, except in this case it's true. I hate how litigious things have got, where this was even a thought in some HR departments mind.

What would be awesome is if Mike could get a minicooper and park it in the handicap spot in the parking lot of the USS Midway aircraft carrier in San Diego and then get some shots of him deadlifting the rear while it is
parked there.

How many violations does one have to observe, before we can call it a culture of shadiness?
I mean, coach has been coaching DRUNK, and he did that awards dinner once, he's just drama 24/7.
Before him, pete carroll? Lost a title for cheating? Bought reggie bush a house? Ran out of town after banging a college student? Then goes on to be Adderall mess + 911 truther in the pros?
To fans of the sport, that is a culture of cheating and rules violations.
http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/07/14/pete-carrolls-own-cheating-could-make-it-harder-for-usc-on-appeal/
I loved watching USC beat up on people back in the day, I lvoed the ND rivalry, pushing Bush across the goal line, that shit was epic. But anyone would look at the lsit of activities there, and they'd say it was a culture of corruption.
-
Now Spurrier has abruptly retired. Tough Monday for both USC programs.

The USC culture is one of cheating elitism.
they're the Patriots of college football.

He's a disgrace to the college game. One of the shadiest coaches of all time.
-
What do coaches actually do? ???
They perform a valuable service: they keep the more physically gifted among the lower orders occupied, and in turn keep the less educated masses entertained so that the true Alphas like us are able to concentrate on weightier matters.

There was a story when Mark Sanchez was a Freshman i think , there was a female who claimed she rapped her, the charges were dropped due to lack of evidence , Mark had a hunch alumni/boosters had paid the female to make up the story because they did not want a quarterback of Mexican descent, so he wore a Mexican Flag mouth piece the next couple of years.
It was also a big reason Mark decided to not stay his last year because he thought Pete was done at USC and didnt have his back at all
-
The betting sites are saying that Kyle Whittingham is the most likely replacement for Sark.
-
I thought Parisiyan got dropped by the UFC and was fighting in Bellator these days.
-
Wow, so USC fired this guy VIA TEXT MESSAGE ON THE WAY TO REHAB because legally, they couldn't fire him once he entered rehab.
Yeah, a real stand-up organization.

Colin's co-host was criticizing it on FSN-1.
Also the early dorks on that 10am espn show were saying they texted him 5 minutes before he could sign in. then USC leaked it to the world that they fired him BEFORE he arrived at Rehab. They wanted it on public record.
-
One of the shittiest programs in all of collegiate sports
75% of its fan at games never even attended the school yet " show Their School Pride" ::)

Gracious, I understand you want to protect your image as an institution if you are USC, but you could be throwing a guy's life away just for the sake of saving face and some $$$. Sark is going through a divorce currently, correct?

the athletic direction/dept is taking serious heat. They didn't want to repair their employee. They knew he had a drinking problem for a long time, and they just wanted him gone.
more evidence of their disgusting 'culture'.

240, USC ALSO deflated footballs. I wonder if this is where patriots got the idea from!

what a disgusting school. Indefensible.
-
Two of the biggest trolls on here that are supposed to be educated still can't figure out that 90% of schools at the D1 level violate NCAA rules in some way. It's hard to believe that the two biggest trolls on here that spend the most amount of time on here actually work with public. One having people trust him with their business and the other having trust within (fuck, I don't even know what his title is)
-
What do coaches actually do? ???
get bad hair cuts and criticise Obama
-

240, it appears that USC has a stronghold on the powers-that-be. I mean, most people know USC sports. Do you think that the USC pays people to "turn the other cheek" to their shenanigans? I suspect most schools would be in trouble if they broke rules. Do you think USC gets away with it because of who they are and who they know? Sort of similar to the Patriots.
-
The best part of football is watching all the butthurt fanbois overreacting not only to the results of various contests, but to any perceived lack of "respect" for grown men playing with an egg-shaped ball.

Thought it was weird for Caroll to ask those types of questions to a General. He probably could have gotten the answer he was looking for getting shitfaced with the Billionaire owner that owns the Seahawks. :-\

USC looking pretty bad today with the sober coaching staff.
