Donald Trump slammed former President George W. Bush for the 9/11 attacks happening "during his reign" in an interview aired Friday, prompting a strong rebuke from a certain GOP presidential rival.
Asked by Bloomberg's Stephanie Ruhle if he could reassure the American people in times of crisis, as when Bush stood before the nation in the aftermath of the deadliest terror attack in its history or when President Barack Obama mourned the Sandy Hook shooting in 2012, Trump was adamant.
“I think I have a bigger heart than all of them," Trump responded. "I think I’m much more competent then all of them. I mean, say what you want, the World Trade Center came down during his time.”
Ruhle interjected: “Hold on, you can’t blame George Bush for that."
“He was president, OK? Don’t blame him or don’t blame him, but he was president," Trump continued. "The World Trade Center came down during his reign. If you look at Sandy Hook, those people are still begging for help."

Ari Fleischer, former White House press secretary during the Bush administration, told CNN that Trump sounds like a "truther," a term applied to conspiracy theorists who believe that the U.S. government was behind the 9/11 attacks.
"I just think he (Trump) belongs to an extraordinarily small faction of people who blame 9/11 on George Bush," Fleischer said.
The controversy began Friday when Bloomberg Television released an interview with Trump in which the billionaire businessman said he was more competent than the former president.
"When you talk about George Bush, I mean — say what you want — the World Trade Center came down during his time," Trump said.

Isn't it amazing - Trump states a simple fact, an undeniable fact - and republicans are destroying him for it? Just mentioning who was president at the time = liberal kneepadding and CTer territory suddenly!

And ari fleisher accusing trump of being a truther - let's just say I put WAY more stock in Ari's words, than in the opinion of some kneepadding getbiggers that'll defend trump because they love his star power. If Arti says it, I believe it. He's credible and he has been the voice of the white house, a very smart man.

“Look, his brother gets hit on, he’s a loyal person, he’s loyal to his brother. But his brother made some mistakes. His brother could have made some mistakes with respect to the actual hit becuase they did know it was coming. George Tenet, the head of the CIA, told them it was coming. So they did have advanced notice.”

I'm a decade past arguing 911. I just think it's so cute that repubs who spent 15 years crying BS about the 911 truth movement, are suddenly kneepadding a candidate who 1) has alex jones working to get him elected 2) keeps company/love with so many 911 truthers 3) has been accused of being a truther by a member of the bush white house.
they were so busy covering their ears to anything negative about Trump, they forget to see what he really stands for. "I like so many of his ideas..." Coach quote of the year.
