I get mine for free, so I quite enjoy them for a quick breakfast. I get my daily fiber with a bar and a bowl of oats.
The pumpkin pie was a let down, but I like the idea of a coating.
Don't give up on them Gene.

I will try this flavor and method and report back.

This will be one of the few times GB has affected my actions IRL.

Victory Bars are terrible, if I was to compare them with quest bars, they have the same texture, but the taste is like chalk and a very very watered down quest bar

instead of vitafiber use fiberyum, it's cheaper. the 10bl gallon works out perfectly with a 5lb tub of protein since it's a 2:1 ratio.

http://www.amazon.com/Fiberyum-IMO-Syrup-Sweetener-Isomalto-oligosaccharide/dp/B00XQMAC48

things like walnuts and pecans essentially become candied nuts when mixed with the warm imo fiber. throw that into 1 scoop of vanilla powder with some freeze dried bananas bits and you have walnut banana bread protein bar

I've tried Quest bars, Victory bars, B-UP bars, Atkins bars (complete garbage, except s'mores) and OhYeah (didn't like any of the ones I tried).
Quest bars are hit and miss - stick to cookies and cream and choc chip cookie dough - all the other ones are really hard to chew if not heated and have barely any flavour. Victory bars were nothing special but I haven't bought them in a few years, maybe they've improved. The only good flavours of the B-UP bars are PB and J and sugar cookie (which doesn't taste like sugar cookie to me, but has a very pleasant taste).

Birthday Cake sounds the best to me for the next flavor.

Pumpkin Pie is here only for a limited time, as it is a seasonal flavor, so by December 10th or so, they will stop selling them.

They have and are modifying the bars quite a bit, so the latest Choc Chip Cookie Dough (which is my favorite) actually tasted the best yet.

(To disclose for those that do not know, I am a Quest distributor, as well as a Victory Bar distributor)

Also, I dislike all protein bars, except for Quest S'mores....delicious.

not a protein bar, but "perfect bars" are delicious

has anyone compared the quest corn fiber formula to the old oligosaccharides formula?  i was thinking about it but... animal products

victory bars are shit

i feel like most people saying quest bars are shit probably tried them one time and got a bad batch.  the quality varies wildly.  i think they might get hard over time or something, too, sitting on store shelves.  maybe better to buy them direct.

pumpkin pie is the only flavor i haven't tried... favorites are chocolate chip cookie dough, white raspberry, banana nut muffin, pb & j

Plz ask Jerry to address the hundreds of unhappy customers on their Facebook page

Plz also ask Jerry why the bars taste like shit, did quest actually taste the pumpkin pie bars before releasing them because the pumpkin pie tastes nothing like pumpkin pie, why it seems like they use cheap ingredients now yet still charge the same prices, and plz also ask why they fucked over their customers and destroyed the bars? Did they think we wouldn't notice?

Feel free to post up a recipe.

I was getting a terrible bloat and overall dehydration (they just soaked up water in my body and sat in my stomach like a cement turd) off the regular protein bars.  Trust me, I tried every one of them I believe.  All makers, Detour, MetRx, Quest, Perfect, etc...

I finally just decided to make my own and cut out all the crap and useless fillers that is in the store bought ones.  Very simple recipe that I threw together the first time I ever tried to make my own and just stuck with it.   Keep in mind that I made these as a meal replacement type in mind.

Vanilla Protein Powder (I use Beverly.  It's the best I have ever used)
Ground oats (run through a food processor or manual coffee grinder.  This is for the healthy carbs.
All Natural Peanut Butter (for the healthy fats)
Cinnamon powder (to give the taste a kick to it so it isn't all bland and sweety.)

Those oreos are deadly addictive.
I have two full packs in my pantry due to the fact that they immediately sell out at my local walmart.
Saving them to make "oreo balls" for thanksgiving get together.

We don't have any of this in the grocery stores here in Hawaii. Just the regular and all chocolate ones. Maybe I should order a bunch off the net and set up a table outside the store like the girl scouts do.

So, what's so special about these things? Never eaten or even seen one before in my life.  8)

They were the first famous bar to have 'excellent macros'.  20+ grams of protein, 15+ grams fiber, <5 grams net carbs, no weird ingredients, usually <200 cals, and they tasted great, all things considered.  For a while, no one else offered a bar that even came close to matching these characteristics, to my knowledge.

After a few years, the competition finally caught up, for the most part, in terms of macros.  Competing bars still didnt taste quite as good, and didnt have quite as 'good' of a macro profile.  Quest still somehow maintained their edge, albeit by a slimmer margin.

Then, quest got sued for false nutrition facts, changed their ingredients as a result, and apparently now they don't taste as good.  I've only had one or two of the new bars, so its hard for me to say for sure, but I think they're now roughly on par with everyone else.

For a while, you could only order them online or maybe at supp shops.  This is probably why you haven't seen them before.  Now, you can find them in many grocery stores and even gas stations.
