Self-flagellation is popular among primitives such as muslims and some of the more stupid Catholics. This act is without merit and merely draws attention to the outright ignorance of the individual(s) performing it.
It can also take similar form in posting here as witnessed by aboriginals such as Hipo and Herne or that bastion of buffoonery Marty Champions, as their postings opens them up to verbal putdowns gifting them the fuel to feed their self loathing.
It is however true that one could make a case that what Hipo and Herne are doing serves a dual purpose if you will, by providing a gateway for many lesser Getbiggers to perform their Schmoeliest of Schmoely acts, self-fappellation.
