Ok getbiggers, I'm gonna start this off and say that generally when I see the public doing something in mass and the government promoting something heavily alarm bells start going off in my head that something is fucked up.
So what is the deal with flu shots? What conspiracy theories are there about flushots? Why don't they work? What are they really injecting us with?
-
i think its bullshit i havent had one since i was a kid.
-
I had once years ago and as the result i got fever for days ::)
-
They work.
-
Complete scam. I work in medical field and they're a joke. Last years was a complete miss, ended up being 20% effective. I've had the flu more since we were required to get one.
-
I would argue against it. But from what I've read the bad thing about some vaccinations are the metals/impurities not the vaccine itself.
-
Before the flu shot, I got the flue damn near every year, like clock work. Been getting the flu shot for the last 9 years, and haven't had the flu the last 9. :D
-
The flu almost killed me last year seemingly

correlation does not = causation...Guess what fuck face I have never had a flu shot and can't tell you the last time I had the flu either......the flu shot is a scam...even the WHO and CDC come out every year and say its ineffective but big pharma has money to make so the govt (their little bitch) pushes it down everyone's throat year after year....

Only took them twice in my life. Had the worst flu cases ever then.
-
The CDC combines flu vaccine stats with pneumonia
-
I got one in 2014, and then didn't get sick.
Of course I never left the house that entire winter...
-
Never had one and dont plan on it.dont think ive ever had the flu.
-
It's the fucking flu, not Ebola. So you're sick for a few days, lay in bed watching cartoons while your girl fixes you soup and you get a few days off work. People are such pussies these days.

Serious question, have you had the flu, and were those your symptoms above? My experience has been completely different. High fever, vomiting, smashing headache, uncontrollable shaking, chills, every joint aches. When I've had it in the past, these symptoms last for roughly 4-5 days, followed by about 2-3 days of lessening symptoms. I'm usually wiped out of commission for 4-5 days, and weak as fuck for about 4-5 more. >:(

I've gotten a flu shot every year for the past 8 years or so....maybe longer...can't remember for sure. 95% of the time I haven't gotten the flu.
Flu shot isn't a guarantee that you won't get flu because every strain can't be anticipated or known.
Like someone above, said last years shot was miss because the mix was only 20% effective....apparently it missed all sorts of strains I'd assume.
In the last decade I've only contracted flu once that I can remember and I did get the flu shot that year.
-
I only caught the flu twice in my life and I'm nearly 60. It's devastating. I increase my odds of staying healthy with the flu shot and decrease the risk factors. You guys that catch colds and say you have the flu don't have a clue.
-

Here's how it usually goes for me. Feel it coming on with swollen glands or tickle in throat. Lasts a few hours before giving way to chills/fever which sends me to bed bundled up with 5 blankets. 8-18 hours later, I'm sweating it out and pushing past the headache and on the uptick. Taking it easy, eating toast and bananas and maybe another day feeling weak but the worst is behind me. Then a BJ from my girlfriend and that's it. Feeling better and ready to go home to my wife, fresh as a daisy.

What's your point? Every year will have a different efficacy based on many variable conditions. This is no secret. Some years are a slam dunk, and other years, not so much. However, it still has a certain efficacy. IE, it can help people. For me, if it only has a 10% efficacy, it's still worth it.
And where did you get the idea that flu shots cause Alzheimer's? Have you been reading Wiggs websites? :D
-
Have not had the flu in about 12-15 years. Never had a flu shot.
-
Don't know who Wiggs is but I do know that I wont bother injecting myself with anything Big Pharma and the Govt pushes on us especially when it is so little effectiveness.....do you know anyone in the last 25 years who was otherwise healthy has died from the flu????
-
If the flu kills me, then I deserve to die.
I've been on this earth 27 years. I haven't gotten the shot in 27 years. I have gotten the flu a total of 0 times.

Not to get all foiley but I remember an awful lot of scaremongering about the Bird Flu and the Swine Flu being as bad as the Spanish Flu was and neither of them amounted to a hill of beans.
Flu sux tho. They seem to hit harder the older I get. It's been several years so I'm due.
I rarely eat takeaway and I've made it a rule not to work around sick people. If they won't go then I do. You're diseased, asshole. Kindly fuck off. I'd rather lose a day feeling good than spend two weeks sweating through blankets and eating rice a grain at a time.

That people die from the flu, and that the flu vaccine is not 100% effective. What part are you having trouble with? ???
-
Never had one and don`t want one.
I usually get a 5-7 day cold each winter if that, and once that`s gone,I`m good to go for the rest of the year.
-

You said no one ever died from the flu. I provided you evidence that you were in fact wrong. Nothing more, nothing less.

contaminated food from a hotel i think many were gettin sick airborne too

yes i literally couldnt stand or move i thought i would die i didnt get any headaches
I catch a cold maybe once everyother year
-
I've gotten the flu probably 3 to 4 times in my life. If I get it, I'll embrace it. Go on a water/lemon fast and drop some body weight. Stay out of the gym for a week or two and let it do it's thing. As far as flu shots, i'm not interested in willfully being a research participant for the flu virus...

I got the H1N1 swine flu. It was pretty shitty.
There's varying degrees of it - I've had a mild one or two, but one major where i couldn't even move without pain, and puked about 50-60 times. Awful stuff.

Tinfoil or not, I'd be wary of anything that "they" give out for free or basically free.

The symptoms you describe I had last year after I got a flu shot, had to go to the hospital and get an IV. I'm never sick and the time before that I got one 6 or 7 years ago I got sick just not as bad weak and a head ache for a day a lot like a hang over. They say there's no active flu in the shot but the 2 times I got them is the 2 times I've been sick in 7 years. I would guess I'm one of the % that has symptoms from the shot but the one last year was the full blown flu it was miserable even had to put ice on my fore head and eyes because there was so much pressure in my head. Going forward I might as well take my chances and not get the flu instead of injecting it into my body, lol
-
You said no one ever died from the flu. I provided you evidence that you were in fact wrong. Nothing more, nothing less.
wrong fuck face that's not what I said don't change my words around...I asked if you know anyone who has died from the flu (as in real life know a person??) no you don't and neither do I or I bet anyone in this thread...there is no pandemic or epidemic of flu taking people's lives yet they build up this fear mongering and push this "free" vaccine on everyone because they care about our health and well being so much???? don't be so bloody gullible ffs!!!
-
Complete scam. I work in medical field and they're a joke. Last years was a complete miss, ended up being 20% effective. I've had the flu more since we were required to get one.
33% success rate here but if i was over 65 id take that over death.
Flu rarely kills getbiggers mostly old and very young. Never had it, had pneumonia though and that sucked. I ignored it til it spread from lungs to blood and then waited til i was nearly dead to see a doc.
As an aside i hate, HATE people who say they have "a flu" when they have a cold.
-
All those who have had flu will know the difference between a bad cold and actual flu, if you have flu you are bed bound
One of my pet hates is people with sniffles claim they have a 'touch' of flu...
-
Interesting to hear these divergent opinions regarding government encouraged shots.
I'm on the"they work for me" side because they always seem to keep me healthy while others are sick as shit.
I actually have a friend who faints when stands in line to get a shot of any kind. Anyone know the medical term for that getting a shot response?
While we are on this subject, for those of you who favor shots ... I strongly recommend that you consider a Pnumonia (?) shot once every ten years or so.
PS> I cannot spell "pneumonia", but I had it once and although I've have been placed in numerous hazardous positions, those 14 days were the closest to death I have ever found myself (in).
How many VA members do we have on this board?

It is one thing to not want to take the flu shot for whatever reason. It is a completely different thing being a conspiracy theorist wack job.

I do enjoy threads like this, they help demonstrate how many morons are on getbig.

What would be a reason for someone not wanting to take a flu shot if other people swear by them?
