This is how a Mr. Olympia trains back.

Not this.

True... but Ronnie Coleman can barely walk these days.  If you can get 80% of the results with 20% of the effort, you'd be a fool not to.

I prefere the way phil dexter cutler shaw flex labrada, bob paris etc etc and everyone else who do high volme, strikt movement and lots of set.

U get abody that u can keep for the rest of your life. Doing heavy ass shit like Dorian Ronnie Brasch break the body down and look like shit!

All those strikt bodybuulders get a nice functional body. They just look and feel great. I doubt they have any major problem wit thier bodies!

This. Phil trains like a pussy but Coleman just overdid it. Whats the point of doing that kind of workouts if you become a useless cripple ?

Moral of the story : If you can win the Olympia by just juicing and doing cardio, just keep juicing and doing cardio.

Might be some truth to this, Charles Barkley just had a hip replacement.

It doesn't help. Cheath leans back into his BDB so far as to nearly fall over. He does this to squat down more to eliminate some of his narrowness. Ronnie is leaning forward there, doesn't even look like he has finished the pose.

Ronnie can barely move these days. I don't think it's smart to train crazy like he did but he did and went down as one of the greatest so I suppose it was worth it. He didn't know when to quit and his body just gave out on him

I Think Phil represents the opposite extreme. Too many drugs and I think that's worse than crazy training. The crazy training you may not be able to move but too many drugs and you will die. I am convinced the drugs are why he looks so poofy

heaths back is no comparision to yates and coleman.

haveing a diced back is one thing, having it thick and with wings and diced is a totally different ball game

Yet, Dorian trained with a lot of weight for back and has no hip or back problems (from what we know).

If Prime Ronnie were on the stage at the 2015 Mr. O, Phil would get destroyed in that pose. One, because of the sheer size, thickness and detail of Ronnie's back that pics don't show. And two, because Phil leana back so much, that it makes him seem shorter than he is. So, he would get dwarfed.

This was from Friday Night.  Nearly unanimous first place...

I honestly enjoy watching training videos and I liked Ronnie's.  The form and technique made my back hurt but his enthusiasm and passion for the weights are what bodybuilding are all about.  It gets you pumped to hit the gym!  That's what we are missing along with the funny personalities.

That is a one-time Olympia competitor who placed "16th" (Heath placed 5th that year).

Heck, he was nowhere near as big as he is now (and was off, condition-wise) yet beat Stubbs at Stubbs lone O appearance.

heres the thing  though

natural guys who train like coleman will end up hurt and with a ton of injuries ronnie trained to heavy and very sloppy form.  the guy was a genetic freak.

if  you want to train long and enjoy your life and workouts train light weight high sets, if you want to end up a cripple and with torn muscles train coleman like.

this is coming from a guy who trained h.i.t for many years  . ill never train like that again either.

My back was screaming watching him do rows and deadlifts. I think his training technique was horrible and that's why he can barely move these days. However I did appreciate his passion and energy towards the workout.

The Mr Olympias who followed him have less than inspiring training. Their form and technique is sloppy too but they also have low energy and look bored.

Absolutely. Ronnie's back is so much wider, his lats attach lower and is thicker. Anyone who has ever seen Ronnie in person can truly see and appreciate that.

Stubbs placing was probably due to the fact that he got the legs of a wheelchair competitor, not because of his back development.

Heath trains moderate weights and reps, doesnt kill himself in the gym, you dont see him screaming and shouting yet he has 5 Olympia's.

Sort of makes all the other guys throwing huge weights around and screaming look pretty stupid.

Well, one has to take into account that Stubbs had an operation on his legs due to an injury he sustained. His legs look pretty decent.

His form might get a little loose as the weight gets heavier, but these are some incredible feats of strength here.

But he looks worse as time goes on. It will be interesting to see how history remembers him.  I think Jay onstage was the worst Mr O of the modern era but I think he's a fantastic ambassador for the community and is top notch when it comes to the public whether it's online or in person.  He is still very very popular.
