Flex magazine what a joke! lol you know the current IFBB is a joke when they are resorting to pics of guys from 20+ years ago for the cover shots...probably due for another Arnold collectors edition next...

Why on Earth are they putting Lou Ferrigno on their cover?? He's a nobody. Hasn't done anything noteworthy in 30 years. Hasn't competed in 20 years. There's hundreds of current IFBB pros slaving away in the gym dying for the chance to be on the cover and they give it to the biggest prick in the history of bodybuilding??? For fucks sake...
-
Ferrigno is having his Legacy Pro and NPC contest in November in Palm Springs. Sorry I can't link it right now.

One way to look at it is that the current crop is not that deep and they have already run their course in the calendar year with the ones that are good sellers off the newsstand. That's how they determine cover subjects, especially ones that have been on multiple times. All magazines (for the most part) do this.
-
Another cover ...
-
The kids who buy that AD Mag will surely be disappointed when they google an image of current Big Louie.
-
lol @ "free" Lou poster :D
-
SHRED FAT! Fuck, all this time I've been trying to lose fat, didn't realize I have to shred it.
-
I wonder how much flex editors had to pay Lou for using him on the cover?

Because other than Arnold, he's the only one anyone outside or on the fringe of the industry know.
-
yea gotta chuckle at that, probably costs between 4 and 5 quid in the uk

I wonder if one of the secrets are 'Mat DuVall's' 24 hour arm routine, guaranteed to build an inch on your arms' (in tendinitis swelling...)

I wouldn`t wipe my ass with that rag.

Because it cost Flex $20 dollars to run?

Say what you want about Lou but at his peak he didn't really have a lot of bodybuilding weaknesses. Good arms, shoulders, legs, calves and back...and one the all time best chests (no homo).

My son actually showed me this magazine today. He always gets excited like a little boy on Christmas every month when Flex shows up in our mailbox. You see, he was only an infant in the crib when he developed this ear infection, right? Anyways, we didn't know it at the time. When he was about three years old, we found out that he was hard of hearing. I guess that's kinda why he never really took an interest in things other kids would take an interest in, like television. He was also late learning to speak and everything. He would become a lip reader. He's a real skinny kid, and he can't even make the football team because he's too skinny. He recently started to buy Muscle Magazine. I take him to a bookstore, and he buys up all the old muscle books. He reads them for hours. Every morning, I find his light on and he's reading the muscle books.

I have to laugh at all the haters who melt down everytime Lou's name is mentioned. At 6'5" tall few people in history have ever walked around with a more impressive physique than Lou had in his prime. And he still looks great. Next to Arnold, there is no more impressive, or generally better known bodybuilder, than Big Lou. To compare him to most of the sorry manlets that have won contests in the IFBB is a joke.

Great pic of Lou on top. Not too many have ever beaten that.
The bottom pic is hilarious. And people are wondering why he still gets magazine covers?

Branch is simply atrocious

Because other than Arnold, he's the only one anyone outside or on the fringe of the industry know.
The Rock, John Cena, Brock Lesnar, Poppa Pump, CM Punk, GSP, Jon Jones, Fabricio Werdum, Robbie Lawler, Conor McGregor, Ronda Rousey, heck, even Vin Diesel.
Tell me how exactly Lou Ferrigno sells magazines. How would today's teenagers have any idea who Lou Ferrigno is?

None of the above are/were pro bodybuilders.... or even bodybuilders for that matter...
At the end of the day its all business, selling BB magazines and bodybuilders like Lou on the cover gets the attention and admiration that today's pros simple have been failing miserably to obtain for the past 6 years or so .

Hey Fat man who hangs out on a BB forum, John Cena competed in BB. You can go back to eating cup cakes now.

If the goal is to sell magazines, any of my suggestions would be better than Ferrigno. If the goal is to feature a man with muscles, there are hundreds of current pros to choose from. Heck, why not use Troy Zuccolotto?

He would have ruled bbing in the late 70s early 80s. Assuming he nailed his conditioning, Franco, Zane, Dickerson and Bannout would
have disappeared standing next to him.

.... And was he a pro bodybuilder ? Did he compete in the Olympia Universe ?
People think of him as a werstler clear the confusion here for us.

Teenagers don't buy magazines, old schmos do.
