Title: Father raises boy who's now applying for college. Lets put him in jail

Please tell me you don't think in the kind of absolutes where "father takes kid, raises college student" is the same as "meth head mom takes kid"

No but there is a law to prevent any parent from doing what he did. There's still not much context about why he took the kid and ran.

Exactly. Let's just ignore the fact that "applying for college", " college student" and "college student doing well" are discrete things. The fact that the kid arguable turned out well doesn't change the fact that his father committed a felony.

Had this been a woman, she'd claim abuse and she'd be a hero for raising a good son all alone on her own and for protecting and saving the boy from abuse and she'd hire Gloria Allred and wouldn't even be arrested.
