oh and, not another fucking movie thread. Yeah, so, please everyone tell me your opinions about a movie.

The reviews are bullshit.  It's PC feminist bullshit complaining about the role of the Bond Girl.  Bond movies are popcorn movies, suspend reality watching things explode fun with a little sexy bitches thrown in.

I like to think that I'm the only reviewer that counts. I watch whatever movie I want and then it's done, and then I give MY opinion of it.

Reviewers are bullshitters. When Jurassic Park and Avatar came out I remember both got 1 or 2 stars out of 5, both became box office smashes and all of a sudden in the paper the review showed 4/5 stars.  How quickly they change their ratings to ensure they don't look stupid.

Probably the best Bond in 20 years. Better than Casino Royale.

i just read with the costs of making the film and with advertising it will have to make 650 million just to break even !

christ it costs alot these days to make a profitable movie in hollywood

To answer the OP.  No, I won't go to a theater to watch it.  Will watch at home when a good HD copy is out.  Fuck the theater.  I hate sitting with other noisy assholes around me with their cells constantly lighting up or talking.

Last year I was watching a comedy at the theater.  Some guy behind me found everything funny laughing so fucking loud it made the experience horrible.  I was fuming but it was just some old fart and I didn't want to make a scene but it was annoying at how loud and all the shit he'd laugh at.

OLD SCHOOL, I'm not up to date as much as I should be regarding the making of SPECTRE, but I am almost positive that no part of it was made in Hollywood.

But, as you say, it costs a hell of a lot of money to make a movie in LA LA Land ..... so most major productions are made elsewhere where advantageous tax deductions are being offered.

Major film productions are now and have been underway in Canada and down south where these tax advantages are offered in an effort to find work for within their jurisdiction.

But one of the major disadvantages is the fact that you must use the residents of that location that offers the tax advantage. This does not apply to the principal actors and major production individuals but it does cause a problem for the SAG members residing within California and several others states and locations.

I am also not up to date regarding the details of making movie production more affordable in Hollywood, but it does require a lot of attention.

I often wonder if Arnold attempted to remedy this problem while he was Governor? That is another thing I have no  idea of.

WHY THE FUCK CHOOSE AN ACTOR WITHOUT AN ONCE CHARISMA AND SEX APPEAL TOWARD WOMANS FOR THE BOND ROLE IS BEYOND MY COMPREHENSION ? ? ? ???

I saw it last week. It was okay. Decent action film but nothing more.

It actually seemed more similar to the Bond films of the past then to what we've seen previously with Craig.

This is Craig's last film as bond.  Talk is either picking a hewbrew or a female to replace him.  With the remake of Ghostbusters, Oceans 11 and Star Wars going down the menstrual path I see no reason why they won't go with a female.  Knowing Hollywood they'll use a Transgender

Saw it on Saturday, first time I've seen a bond film at the cinema since Never say Never again which was around 1984.

It was OK but Bond wears suits that are far too tight for him and that spoiled it for me.

It was his suit jacket mainly. Looks like he should be a 38 chest but shoehorns a 34 on so it strains at the buttons and you can see his shirt between the button gaps.
Typical twink metrosexual style and not befitting a macho man of action like Connery.

hey stunt i read an article a couple years ago with they interviewed spielberg and lucas and they both said,  the budgest for movies these days is  enormous,  and you could actually see some major studios sink,  they also said it is harder to make smaller movies now because the studios arent interested in it.

ha i remember when 50 million for a budget was considered huge and that wasnt that long ago.

Quote
For those who don't know, if a gentleman's tailor asks sir which way he dresses, the tailor is asking on which side of the zip seam of sir's trousers does his penis hang - left or right. The tailor can then subtly alter the trousers to fit sir more, em, snugly.

nah, just that it boggles my mind that people ask what they should watch before they watch it. Supposedly movie critics hated "lucy" but I loved it.

For example I've never felt star trek or star wars movies but they get a praise from majority. People can make their own opinion.

is't that always the way these days, "could have been better"
some of the dtv stuff is actually better these days as it doesn't have to pander to hollywood rules and no hype. I watched  "no escape" last night, not sure if it went to cinemas buts it about a family on holiday in thailand when it gets invaded by terrorists. One of the most intense, well shot movies i've seen in recent times.

Seen it. Decent enough but not better than casino royal or skyfall. It tried to be too much like the old bonds, which i always found shit, with comedy gags and gadgets. The good thing about the Craig movies were that they had a darker, more violent theme to them, this doesn't as much.

Good points are that the French bird who plays the latest bond girl is absolutely smoking hot though, and Batista is actually a pretty good character, which was surprising.

The theme tune is dogshit too, Sam Smith is a fat fucking crybaby who always seems to be singing about how he's scared to sleep with the light off or some shit, doesn't suit the film.

Waltz as the bad guy was a bit of a let down too, he didn't really bring the intensity that i thought he would. Overall it's not bad, but could have been a lot better.

The old bonds are actually not as oldschool as people think. According to "real" bond fans the original bond from the books were more like craig, cold, emotionless, on point. I actually like the new bond theme the most as well. I loved pierce brosnan in golden eye and the world is not enough but after that... nah.

Pierce was bad ass in "the november man", tho. It's like an old bond coaching a younger up and coming agent.

How was Skyfall, anyone?

I liked it. It was full of action and was almost like a new start to the series, with Moneypenny and all.
