Islamic State warned in a new video on Monday that countries taking part in air strikes against Syria would suffer the same fate as France, and threatened to attack in Washington.
The video, which appeared on a website used by Islamic State to post its messages, begins with news footage of the aftermath of Friday's Paris shootings in which at least 129 people were killed.
The message to countries involved in what it called the "crusader campaign" was delivered by a man dressed in fatigues and a turban, and identified in subtitles as Al Ghareeb the Algerian.
"We say to the states that take part in the crusader campaign that, by God, you will have a day, God willing, like France's and by God, as we struck France in the center of its abode in Paris, then we swear that we will strike America at its center in Washington," the man said.
It was not immediately possible to verify the authenticity of the video, which purports to be the work of Islamic State fighters in the Iraqi province of Salahuddine, north of Baghdad.
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security would not comment on the video but said it has not received information indicating a potential attack.
"While we take all threats seriously, we do not have specific credible information of an attack on the U.S. homeland," a DHS official said on condition of anonymity.
The French government has called the Paris attacks an act of war and said it would not end its air strikes against Islamic State in Syria and Iraq.
French fighter jets launched their biggest raids in Syria to date on Sunday, targeting the Islamic State's stronghold in the city of Raqqa, in coordination with U.S. forces.
Police raided homes of suspected Islamist militants across France overnight following the Paris attacks.
"Al Ghareeb the Algerian" also warned Europe in the video that more attacks were coming.
"I say to the European countries that we are coming, coming with booby traps and explosives, coming with explosive belts and (gun) silencers and you will be unable to stop us because today we are much stronger than before," he said.
Apparently referring to international talks to end the Syrian war, another man identified in the video as Al Karrar the Iraqi tells French President Francois Hollande "we have decided to negotiate with you in the trenches and not in the hotels."

"That’s one of the challenges of terrorism. It's not their sophistication or the particular weaponry that they possess, but it is the ideology they carry with them and their willingness to die."
Obama also pointedly addressed the issue of whether the United States and other countries should continue to accept refugees, given the fact that one of the participants in the Paris plot may have come in with Syrian migrants. He said the United States would continue to accept more refugees from Syria and elsewhere, though "only after subjecting them to rigorous screening and security checks."
"Slamming the door in their faces would be a betrayal of our values," he said. "Our nations can welcome refugees who are desperately seeking safety and ensure our own security. We can and must do both."
Without directly naming GOP presidential candidates, the president blasted political leaders for suggesting the United States should accept only Christians fleeing Syria. He alluded to the fact that some of these same politicians -- namely Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Tex.), whose father fled Cuba decades ago - -had benefited from America's willingness to accept refugees.
"And when I hear folks say that, well, maybe we should just admit the Christians but not the Muslims, when I hear political leaders suggesting that there would be a religious test for which person who's fleeing from a war-torn country is admitted, when some of those folks themselves come from families who benefited from protection when they were fleeing political persecution, that's shameful," he said, his voice rising. "That's not American. That’s not who we are. We don’t have religious tests to our compassion."

We aren't causing the kind of chao's on our lands that will force the changes "they" want to make. So they're bringing in people who will do the dirty work. 99% of tax paying American's don't want them over here. Yet they don't care what we think and are doing it anyway. I don't see why so many people are afraid of the Syrian refugees. Sure if you let in 10,000 refugees a couple might be terrorists and they might succeed in killing a number of people but other immigrants kill people too.
For example take Mexicans: for every 10,000 of them you allow in they will kill way more than Syrians will. Mexicans form gangs, Arabs don't.
The only difference is how they are killed.

A - That most normal people acknowledge that the Mexican illegals are at least minor criminals by nature of their border jumping status. And it is a lot harder to stop the comings and goings on a shared border.
B - The types of crime, minus something like drunk driving, will most likely just affect them mainly. A Mexican banger shooting another banger isn't a huge deal. Them slinging rock amongst the rabble, again not a huge deal. I doubt your average ese is going to walk into a McDonalds with a bomb or what have you, just because their God told them too.
C - We at least somewhat share a common culture with the Mexicans, especially with religious matters. Muslims, even with the non-violent ones, there is usually a double standard toward religious things. These fresh off boats ones are or could be coming from areas where women's rights, gay rights, etc.... are still stuck 100's of years in the past. Do you really want them to bring that sort of thinking into American schools, politics, etc....?
Fuck that, best to adopt a somewhat isolationist attitude toward dealing with folks form that area.
This Syrian refugee thing has the potential to turn into the Mariel Boatlift with a far more dangerous class of people.
