this is vince goodrum we are talking about
i read once , he was working for arthur jones and helped design the nautilus machines as well ;D
-
Since when can you tell naturals lift in clothes? I would have to see a full body shot to tell if these guys are in respectable shape or not. They are all very lean and that is all some celebrities want.

drug dealers?

I would hire Charles Glass, Hany Rambod or Vince Goodrum
Vince Goodrum is too busy in these days sticking up for radical Islam

Back in the day. D-Mass was the "trainer of the stars", how times have changed!

cuz looking good doesn't neccesarily mean that you know what you are doing. Let me put it this way. When you get injured or have back pain etc,who do you go seek advice from? some good developed guy, an experienced bodybuilder or somebody like a specialist in physiotherapy?
The last has vast knowledge in human anatomy and how the body moves correctly etc. Personal training is not just about how good you look but how to recognize posture flaws, flexibility issues and other disabilities and how to correctly make things better so that your client can perform and live better.
Any idiot can follow some diet advice and move things around the gym etc. This is why you see so many self proclaimed PTs who think they are the shit just by having 20 inch arms.
Think outside of the box for a minute. Not everybody who picks up a weight wants to become shredded with 20 inch arms. That would actually be very easy. You train, eat and inject and hope the genetics is on your side.

Is this how you justify walking around completely out of shape?

Dave is only 170 lbs there? How tall was he.
-
Apparently, this man, Vinnie Tortorich, is the go to guy for celebrities who want to get in shape.
As has been stated, here, many times, the primary purpose for Trainers, at this point, is to provide motivation, to those who can't self-motivate, you know, losers.
Training programs can be gotten online, very easily, and performed without some tool trainer up your ass.

Those who can't, teach I guess. And the first dude was some contributor for "OK" and "Shape", those are chick magazines.
-
Because they want someone with social skills and who looks fit & energetic, so not your average bodybuilding dork.
-
the original trainer of the stars
-
They probably want people with true expertise, training, and education on the subject matter.
Managing to get in shape and some internet searches doesn't make anyone qualified to be a high level trainer.
-
Vince Gironda and Bill Smith ...
Gironda was quirky no doubt, but got results
Bill Smith legit BA ! :o

I don't think you can draw the conclusion they can't "do" from looking at pics. These guys aren't bodybuliders. Stew Smith is probably the number one go to guy in military fitness, and this is what he looks like:

Smart guy, good trainer, awesome gym.
-
Anyone these days can become a personal trainer by going online and paying a fee for a test.
If you think they won`t pass you,and won`t mind losing the $400.00 test fee if you fail, you are sadly mistaken.
Professional Rep Counters Of Peace

Right place right time. They get a lazy actor. Make them do stupid moves but since they're moving they burn calories and lose work weight and claim the trainer was a genius. The word spreads and other actors hire them. A great trainer in Cleveland won't run into celebrities but a shitty trainer in west Hollywood will. Right place buddy. Right place.

"Stew". hahahaha Oh brother, I don't know about weightlifting advice, but I sure would seek him out to help with choosing the right fabric for curtains.
-
Always thought this, they may just be drug dealers?
-
Word of mouth. Results.
No magic here.
-
PEDs are no longer a secret and yet some pretend otherwise.
-
Not like the coaches in the pro's look much better, lol...

Gunnar Peterson..
Early life and education[edit]
As a child in Houston, Texas, Peterson struggled with his weight. At age 10, his mother enrolled him in Weight Watchers and began driving him to weekly meetings.[4] As he tells People Magazine, "At one meeting they announced I'd lost 5lbs., I celebrated by buying two ice-cream sandwiches." By college, Gunnar had gotten serious about fitness and started his career; People notes the extra weight is "now but a memory on his 9.5 percent body fat frame." [4][5][6]
He is a graduate of Duke University (class of 1985) in Durham, North Carolina with degrees in Physical Fitness, Psychology and Nutrition.[2][6] He is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), a National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) Certified Personal Trainer (CPT), and is certified by the American Council on Exercise.[2][6]

Because their clients don't want to look like Bodybuilders.
for many of their clients it's about looking good for the role or working out just enough to not get fat.

That dude right there has a better physique than anyone on the Olympia stage today.
I have to ask though, why the hell would anyone bother hiring a personal trainer anyway? All the information any noob would ever need to succeed at their fitness goals is right here on the internet. Just read and go do it. The end.

dave was also a arthur jones disciple and very good friends with mike mentzer

"People Magazine"?! He's lost all credibility. I respect you far more than him because in Hollywood it's far more common for someone to forget where they came from and care only about who they came on (or in).

I have seen gifs of Kai Greene getting blown by a group of men here; I have seen Tbombz selfie with his ass showing; I've seen the Weider principles posted.
This is the gayest thing by far I have ever seen here.

Obviously you never saw the Steve Namat ham slamming video...

Billy Blanks had a great physique.
-
Have to agree with posts on here. I look like shit at this point, but my physique is now due to injuries requiring surgery, and I wouldn't advertise myself as a Hollywood trainer or pay someone that looks like Vince, but that's just my opinion.
-

Dave also trained Jane Fonda before her fitness books and tapes,Leonard Nimoy and many other stars in their day.
Dave was 5'5" or 5'6" can`t quite remember ....when he bilked up he was immense at that height.
Great guy,and top notch build who got robbed quite often in his shows, though he made his mark.
-
wes wasnt dave a strong lil beast back in his day to.
from what i read he made pretty good money training people back in the 80's i do know he quit training for many years after he tor his pec
i think he said it really discouraged him.

Good thing you're not in the military and don't need to train like him.
