It's still hard to fathom that that mountain of muscle could not handle a few simple ninjas.

Was at the 96 South Beach pro where Flex edged out Ronnie for the win. Ronnie was still working on nailing his condition. He was already considerably bigger than Flex.

The fact that Brian Buchanan placed 9th ahead of Henderson Thorne and Eddie Robinson back in 1998, is amazing.
Also, here is a link to the the 96 NOC Revisited

Buchanan got 13th at the 98 NOC and should of been in the top 10. He was bigger and in better condition than ever remember seeing him.

Thank you for correcting me. I meant the Toronto Pro. Rene Janvier was disqualified from that show. I wonder why? Was it because he was "drug free"?

it usually coincides with a big supplement co push,,he signed with metrx 'of course its what made him better lol'and he got bigger/more impressive conditioning to date then, titus sam he got met rx and won the usa that yr in great shape you need $$$ to get there,,,demayo same metrx deal and he looked nuts at nationals yr he won 'he was a front runner a while to that point tho'

He should've kept that weight

never been a ronnie fan, his physique never flowed to me but this is a great shot, no muscle mixed with fat/bloat here yet.

This is when Ronnie looked his best. Even his funky shaped abs looked pretty good with no gap in the middle. Striated thighs with no muscle tears. He still looked like a real bodybuilder. I won't deny that the future Ronnie didn't look otherworldly as far as development is concerned, but he was at his pinnacle here from a pure bodybuilding standpoint. And of course, he succumbed to the HGH and insulin look that became the standard soon after.
-
must have been crazy hgh doses to make his abs split so much from this shot :o
