A foreign company has just opened up a huge hub about 10 frigging minutes from my house and I'm extremely interested. Main issue is that they are only hiring investment analysts for the jobs.
Is there a quick route to acquiring decent analytical/modelling skills?

What kind of investments....like internal capital projects?

No, it's an insurance company, so I suspect it has to do with a fair amount of hedging action (direct private equity investments).

You gotta be way more specific! It's like sying a company just open next door and is looking for sales people

I would assume that they would be looking for someone with an accounting / finance degree who preferably has some experience in that area. I'm not sure if there is really any way to fast track those kind of qualifications. Insurance companies typically hold a lot of cash and often invest a good deal of it in traditional equity and bond markets.

Achieve an advanced (masters, PhD) in math(s). Problem solved!

Show them yer pecker. That works sometimes.

Try to get your foot in the door by taking any job, then go from there.

Just make sure you get hard first. Porn on smart phone during the interview can get one primed

No. Move on. The fact that you are posing this query is proof that you are not going to work there. Becoming an analyst is not like going to real estate school; you cannot gain competence in two weeks via online classes (as so many realtors do). Do some homework; talk to some analysts. They didn't land their jobs on a whim based on a new office building opening up around the corner. ::)
