Title: Women's workout gear is a complete rip off
Post by: El Diablo Blanco on December 10, 2015, 07:06:21 AM
I'm looking to buy my sis in law a couple work out tops for Christmas.  She's all into fitness now so I thought it would be nice.  I can't believe the complete fucking rip off prices.  A workout shirt for a guy is $20 but something similar for a woman is $49+.  Zip up jackets are $80and up and for a guy they had them for $30.  Was looking at Under Armor, Nike etc....

I don't even want to check out the robbery site Lululemon.

Yes, our clothes and shoes are ripoff pricing in comparison to mens for basically the same thing of comparable quality.  Even underwear  ::)  The cheapest thing at Victoria's is ridiculous ~ bras $40 & up, panties $10 ea.  ::)

Actually, Walmart does carry the brand Danskin and it's actually decent and fashionable enough.  Something like this runs around $25 bucks

Target carries some decent things by Champion and whatever their house brand is and Kohls also carries a wide variety of nike, Tek Gear, Fila, Columbia, etc.  Places like Sports Authority and REI are always going to be more $$

Who wears designated workout clothes?

I know. It's foolish. Just wear a normal shirt made of cotton and joggin' pants="workout clothes"

I'd never even pay $20 for a gym t shirt. $15 max and I live in CAnada. Go to winners or walmart for that stuff. Even $15 is too much.

Just get a pack of 4 white shirts for $20. Problem solved, you now have a shirt for every training day of the week.

These people who claim they need "workout clothes" don't even train hard. Or the claim "I need breatheable material" What the fuck for? You're gonna train and get hot either way and will take if off once finished.

Whatever...

Not if you buy quality.  Easily twice that.

This is true only in the gay-ass bodybuilding smith machine reps of peace type training.

If you're outside in the elements and moving, breathable material is key.

Some good deals can be found there, but I can't envision a guy trying to find them.  It takes bargain shopping skillz to be efficient in those places.

In truth, TJMax has had some awesome stuff there lately - they must have gotten a great deal on Nike Pro Combat (name  ::)) and UA stuff.  I've seen the nice coldgear shirts that go for 50 bucks for only 20, and some higher end storm fit jackets for cheap.  I've gotten a bunch of stuff I wear to workout in there.

For the record, I own nothing from lululemon...... ;D

I scored an awesome UA cold gear compression shirt that has a hoodie on the back and pullup to cover your face and nose if you want from TJMAX ago.

...I also own nothing from luluemon.

Sure hope not, lol! Gayest name for a clothing line ever. No TJmax here, but those are good deals you mention. Nike is reliable most the time.

Still can't find no f'in joggin' pants without the cuffs these days. That shit is so douchey and gay, perfect for this generation of walking/living failures....

Sure hope not, lol! Gayest name for a clothing line ever.

Quote
Wilson created the name 'Lululemon' because he thinks Japanese people can't say the letter 'L.'

He told Canada's National Post Business Magazine, "It's funny to watch them try and say it," when asked about his views on the Japanese pronunciation of the company's name.

In 2009, he wrote:

It was thought that a Japanese marketing firm would not try to create a North American sounding brand with the letter “L” because the sound does not exist in Japanese phonetics. By including an “L” in the name it was thought the Japanese consumer would find the name innately North American and authentic.

In essence, the name “lululemon” has no roots and means nothing other than it has 3 “L’s” in it.  Nothing more and nothing less.

Still can't find no f'in joggin' pants without the cuffs these days. That shit is so douchey and gay, perfect for this generation of walking/living failures....

Can't really see how cuffs on jogging pants correlates with being a failure....just sounds like a style to me.

It represents "them" something I want no part of as the feeling is probably mutual from them as well.

It's a style, yes, a very gay looking one that goes with the stupid high top shoes they wear that I used to wear when I was 10 years old.
