When you're wrong about something and can't give credible, logical argument you either resort to name calling, yell and scream, or bail out/ignore/"I don't want to talk about it".

My last partner was a woman with a child and I would NEVER again date a single Mother.  It is a lose/lose situation for a man.  At first I liked it because I have never wanted children and my partner already had a child and didn't want any more.  But after the relationship ended it was just weird.  My ex's daughter thought of me as her surrogate father, took a while to shake both the ex and her daughter of.  The greatest regret of my life was partnering with a single mother.

And they both unfriended me on FACEBOOK.   ;D

Social media is a social disease.

Facebook coming around during my later years of highschool has caused it to be a less professional alternative to linkdin in terms of networking.
While posting for 'likes' goes beyond any sense of reason, remaining 'in-contact', however superficial, has proven much easier and fruitful than to not participate at all.

Social media is not a disease in itself. It is the apparent growing self-impression of unfounded importance that has driven people over the edge.
Nobody's interested whether you positioned your pasta differently on a plate and took a picture of it using 20 filters, and photoshop. Likes have no quantifiable influence on ones life.

Communicating and superficially staying updated with people for future purposes, however, should not be disregarded due to this insane practice.

Not true on some fronts. I know a woman who basically had to get off facebook as the lack of likes was actually allowing her to become depressed over lack of onterest or likes. It was actually harming her pyshe. I am sure millions of people go thru the same. When i got married i deleted FB. fB is only ok if your an adult and single.

Being that I've went to an international school, prior to moving back to my native country, and people I've met having spread out across different continents since. Facebook provides an easy access route to superficially remain updated with people's lives, and to quickly look up certain information which may be relevant for my purposes.

Facebook, atleast for me, is a tool for communication and a easy way to remain generally aware of certain opportunities which may fit my interests.

Delusional self-importance is not inherent to facebook or other social media, rather to low intellect.

I love how people justify the use of facebook as to staying in touch with people they would not normally stay in touch with, ie it helps.

Actually no it does not help because before facebook we invested our time in relationships that actually mattered, today it's all phoniness and when in person talking about the weather because everyone knows what everyone is doing 24/7 and a few billion social media fags thing they have a voice when they are just in fact sheep

Most of them are full of shit anyways.

I have noticed people who bitch on facebook about their lives usually have it good but don't appreciate while the ones posing at every party, in front of every car and have to post all the "great things" are usually the most messed up in person.

Facebook and social media is all about building an overcompensating self delusional view of yourself.

Look how many fat and ugly people think they are hot because of social media because nobody is allowed to be a critic or call the bullshit out without getting ganged up on and bullied by delusional retards like the OP's friend, or former "friend"

Staying in touch is over-rated. Indeed those that matte you stay incontact with regardless.
Facebook is a means to an end. A tool to further ones interests and desires. Nothing more.

That is exactly why I shut that shit down. Seeing people I know make duckfaces, photoshop the living hell out of their pics made me flat out fuckin' hate them.

Instead of unfriending 2/3 of the people, I just shut it down. People were freaking out at what I was saying also. I kinda understand as they have family members seeing that shit too, lol!

I have never understood this either.  For example, take a freak climatic event, say a cyclone that kills many people, and you get all these god botherers thanking God for sparing them or say only losing their house or car or whatever.  Talk about glass half full people, because in my mind I think that if there is a God he is a sadist for creating those circumstances in the first place.

Not that I believe, but I would be mad at God for producing the hurricane in the first place.  It's like they don't link the two things, who produced the hurricane, either it was God or it wasn't.  In their minds God had nothing to do with the negative event but stills gets credit from those who survived it.  Why would people be grateful for such a destructive force coming into their lives and making their lives unnecessarily difficult.  Fuck that God.  It's kind of like a woman being grateful to a rapist for only fucking her vagina and not her arse.

Seems to me anyone visiting a doctor for serious illness isn't too worried about this "Playing God" cliche. Isn't He the one telling the body it's time to die?

Yet they make such a fuss about assisted suicide for that very reason. In all these situations, doctors - be it treating cancer or hastening death with a fatal cocktail - is, in effect, playing God.

Does this seem inconsistent to anyone else?

Look mate God works in mysterious ways.

and it's not Global Warming it's Climate Change, the earth no longer heats up from man but anything could happen and when it does it's climate change.

I only opened a FB account so I could be sure none of my school 'friends' from 30 years ago were in better shape than me... (true story)

You're still an ugly fuck though :D

"Unfriending" is often meant to be passive-aggressive "fuck you".

If I don't want to see some of my "friends" posts I just unfollow them.

Most of the people that have unfriended me were those I went to primary school and kindergarten with.

They unfriended me when I posed pics of my holiday in Thailand   ???

Especially mysterious when he watches hundreds of innocents murdered, but helps his favorite team score the winning goal. Really likes to keep us dumbfounded with that whimsical mystery of His.

Silly God.

How is Getbig not social media?

It's rather 'opinion media'. There's no 'Like' button and it's loaded with sociopaths  :D

If you want to piss the bitch off further, block her on Facebook. She will come back and check on you, women use Facebook to stalk everyone. Block her it will piss her off so much.

Everyone stalks/checks everyone on FB. When I visit a friend of mine and we're discussing certain people, he checks them right away on FB ::)
The Scott is right, FB is a disease, so it's better to avoid it or kill your profile.

This.

I have a bunch of acquaintances who post annoying stuff every single day so I just unfollow them.

No way I'm quitting FB. I've arranged so many fvck sessions there.

I unfriended a shitload when the rainbow screens went up. Don't care the least about another's preference but very much so when it's crammed down my throat.

(Wait, maybe I should reword that.)

Facebook served one purpose in allowing me to search for girls from my past and the "one that got away" to realize what the fuck was I thinking.

This!!!!

Wait until you get older.   All the women in their 40's use Facebook to post recipes and stupid memes about how much they love their children.

You can certainly witness on fb just how brainless are most females. It is enough to read few posts and it's blatabtly obvious.

Most men will never understand women and most women don't understand men. The "brainless" Facebook posts are not limited by gender.

No. Females are a lot more prone to be stupid, due to many of them not caring about anything else aside their looks, while young. I see many brainless men on FB posting nonsense also, but the degree of stupidity in females when it's present is pretty much unrivaled.

I see both males and females on my Facebook falling for the "Click LIKE and SHARE and comment what color you want to WIN THIS NEW CAR"  scams on Facebook, all the time.   Can't believe the gullible people.

About 1 year ago, I defriended some woman from FB that I used to work with. She PMed me and asked me why I defriended her. I nicely explained to her that I was only keeping close friends and family members on it, and that her and I rarely ever talk. Further, I stated that if she wanted to keep in contact with me, that there is always email, text, or phone calls. Holy crap, forget about it, she went on this long tirade about how it was unjustified to defriend her. I felt like I was on trial. To be honest, it was kind of amusing going back-and-forth with her, as she tried to rationalize why it was unfair that I removed her from FB.  :-X :-X

Took her down to 967 "very" close friends probably. Thats deplorable that you would do that. How dare you make her lose points in facebook status world. And imagine having to speak to you instead of just being facebook buddies.....

I had one guy who tried to friend me about five times. I knew who he was by face, etc. but never once spoke to him. I kept refusing each time he did it for that reason (don't add anyone unless I actually know/speak to them) and I continued to see him probably once a week and still never a word he said to me. Would just walk by me without making eyecontact, etc. I find that very odd that people do that.

haha lol. That is super creepy. Keeps trying to friend you on FB, yet will not even say one word to you in person. Very strange indeed.

Oh, regarding my story, I forgot to add this. When I told her she can text me, she said, "Well, I only text with close friends or family." So I said, "Okay, so if we aren't close friends, why do you feel such a strong need to be FB friends?" She didn't know how to respond.
