All diets work for a certain period of time.  If you're eating 3000 calories but your body needs 2500 and you go down to 2400 calories then over a short time you'll lose fat but as you lose fat your caloric needs go down so that 2400 is now baseline so you need to eat fewer calories and then you'll plateau and then need to go down some more etc...

yes ofcourse.

your body burns energy largely depending on bodyweight. naturally your calorie needs will go down as you drop weight.

also once you come to a certain bodyfat, as a natural especially, your metabolism slows down, alot. Your body gets in a state of survival mode. When you think about it, it's only a natural function of the body to prevent you from starving to death.

The readjustment of calories is where 99% of dieters fail.  they eat less, drop some weight quickly and plateau then bitch that diets don't work and start eating fat again.

I was watching this thing on the news about Holiday weight gain and they had this specialist who said the best thing.  The reporter was saying that people on average gain 8 pounds during the holiday and asked the specialist how long it takes to lost it and the special said "people on average don't lose it and they just continue eating garbage and pile on more fat".  HAHA.  She rocked.

99,9% of the human training population cant diet!

They cant hold 2400 calories/day average for 3-6 moths! They cant!

And the main problem if they can, they fuck it all up by start eating more when they reach their goal.

When goal is reached up the calories 2-400/day, and keep cruising! Fit4Life! Tada!

I'm not saying that it is impossible to diet for long stretches of time and have an all-around enjoyable life, but it is impossible to diet for long stretches of time and have an all-around enjoyable life.  :D
