Good luck in the real world, what a bunch of homo's

America is like this. Do u realize that 20+ states decided isolation in prisons make the prisoners more hostile so they are fazing it out for punishment. Ex. If an inmate cussed out an officer or gets in a fight they get locked up in a cell for a cook down period. They go to an open dorm the next day so they take classes..so are prisons are even getting softer

But its true about isolation in prisons. There is overwhelming evidence that isolation (solitary confinement) does not improve behavior. It has absolutely no positive effects on the individual at all. If the point of solitary confinement is to decrease bad behavior by instilling a punishment (solitary confinement), then its clearly not effective. Why continue to engage in a punishment (isolation/solitary confinement) that is not effective? What is the point of that? ??? ???
From a research paper: "The Commission found that the increasing use of high-security segregation is counter-productive, often causing violence inside facilities and contributing to recidivism after release." As such, youre making things worse for the prison guards and the other inmates that are causing no harm, in order to deal with the inmates that are becoming increasingly more violent because of solitary confinement.
Have you done any of the research on this topic? ??? ??? ???

How the fuck do you make this analogy? Isolation is ineffective but also a punishment for prisoners.
The OP was about the disparity between yesteryear's youth being tough and modern kids. Firstly, much as I hate modern kids (I'm 31), most of us have lived pampered war free lives, so we cannot say, with the odd exception, we saw war at 18. Secondly, adults should be adults - ie lead children. This whole bullshit of safe spaces etc came from some wanker somewhere saying "think about the children".
What worries me more than safe spaces is the proliferation of bans on people speaking at universities instigated by students. Ie the shutting down of free speech.
-
To follow on, I hate the whole notion of safe spaces. It meant nothing to me until a year ago when I heard it on a podcast from the US and now I see the same stupid mindset, along with slut walks, spreading here. There were no rapes where slutwalk was held - I think they missed the point.

And how exactly does that translate into the real world? Life isn't fair and no one really gives a shit about your feelings, the sooner they understand that the better off they will be.

You wouldn't invite them to your home for some coffee to discuss their feelings?

Like I give a shit about their feelings. Here is an example, at an employee meeting, some 20 something asks the CIO about what incentive they have to do a better job. The answer was you have a job and that should be enough incentive. I though the guy was going to start crying.

Well, many companies/businesses often offer additional incentives to go above and beyond what is expected of their employees. Its quite common. Many companies do research on motivation and productivity. They know this. They do not do it in a haphazard manner. They know what increases productivity, and companies do offer their employees additional incentives to go above and beyond. Many 500 fortune companies do stuff like this. You're making it seem like its a rare practice to do. ??? ??? However, it should NOT be expected from the workers. It should be something that the company WANTS to do!
As for those kids, I think it would be a good idea for you to talk with them about their feelings. You never know, you may help them.

Would love to put you in a safe, padded room, and discuss our feelings.

Bring back the draft with no exceptions.

I think with the world becoming over populated, these "misunderstood" and emotional males should be given no slack and should be cannon fodder for the other males in school to pick on. They will either toughen up and adapt, or whither away and die off. If they die off they weren't cut out for reproducing anyways.

This sounds just like the bleeding heart libs that came up with this. But no I didn't read that but I have worked at two prisons. Isolation is not like it is in the movies anyway. They sit and talk and read books all day. They get an hour of recreation. Back years ago when u couldn't talk to anyone or see the light of day...yeah I could see that but its not reality anymore. Work in a prison then tell me how u feel

don't forget this doofus is allergic to reason

This is why Star Wars with a female lead is killing it at the box office. If they did the same thing back in the 70s no one would have went to see it.

Fuck this estrogen-soaked world to hell.

haha lol. Gotta love it. In the face of evidence, all you can say is, "this sounds just like the bleeding heart libs." I will assume you have no other evidence to put forth, and have to rely on ad hominem attacks to try and prove your point. Gotcha. :D :D :D

Should invite them in for chocolate milk and cookies.

I'm a grown man. My grandpa would climb up out if the grave just to smack me for discussing my feelings.
No. I wouldn't invite some privileged sissy into my home to discuss their feelings

I think the public should be given the option of servitude/hard labor for prisoners. You put an order in for X amount of prisoners and they come with an assigned guard to do whatever hard labor you need done.

Should help with recidivism. Man does the US hate its prisoners. Why completely destroy a person when that person one day has to be reintroduced to society? No one benefits from that except the prison industrial complex.

I am sure cleaners, gardeners and labourers would love free labour to replace them, and that no crime would ensue from the resultant unemployment and redundancy.

What if climate change causes the gardeners and laborers to join terrorist groups too! :o

Do you know what that would add to the cost of labor?

To be fair: That suggestion wasn't half as stupid as most of the shit you post here.
