My lady has been binge watching Jessica Jones on Netflix the past week. It held our attention. It is a Marvel tv series set in Hell's Kitchen, same as the Daredevil Netflix series. If you like the whole super hero genre, or plan on traveling a lot over the holidays, this could be for you...
Marvel's Jessica Jones, or simply Jessica Jones, is an American web television series created for Netflix by Melissa Rosenberg, based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name. It is set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), sharing continuity with the films of the franchise, and is the second in a series of shows that will lead up to a Defenders crossover miniseries. The series is produced by Marvel Television in association with ABC Studios and Tall Girls Productions, with Rosenberg serving as showrunner.
Krysten Ritter stars as Jessica Jones, a former superhero who opens her own detective agency after an end to her superhero career. Mike Colter, Rachael Taylor, Wil Traval, Erin Moriarty, Eka Darville, Carrie-Anne Moss, and David Tennant also star. A version of the series was originally in development by Rosenberg for ABC in 2010, that was eventually passed on. By late 2013, Rosenberg reworked the series, when it reentered development for Netflix as A.K.A. Jessica Jones. Ritter was cast as Jones in December 2014, with production on Jessica Jones beginning in New York City in February 2015 and lasting until late August.
All episodes premiered November 20, 2015, on Netflix. The series has received critical acclaim, noting Ritter's and Tennant's performances as well as the series' noir tone, approach to sexuality and coverage of darker topics such as rape, assault and posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

Heroes For Hire...
-
5 out of 10
-
Just finished that series.
I thought it was good, but maybe a few episodes too long - liked the DD crossover at the end.
-
I liked it a lot. 8 out of 10 for me.

The lead chick would have to do an amazing job at acting to convince me that she's no the druggie gf of Jesse from Breaking Bad.
-
Jessica needs to lez with Trish Walker though. That would make the show rating a bit higher.
-
I liked it. Can't wait for season 2.
-
Very good show. Kilgrave is the best villain in the whole MCU.
-
Easy to see why she was a failed super hero. Bah!

No match for Doom!

I watched Jane die.
-
Dr Who is evil?
-
Dislike that actress. Enough to prevent me watching it. Hope it does well though and opens the door for more Marvel.
-
Dr Who is evil?
Yes, and he is the best thing about the show. The character he plays uses mind control to get everything he wants. He's like a child and Tennant kills it in this role.

He was great in this role.

Agreed. Conveyed a real sense of menace.

Deadpool needs to have a series!

Deadpool needs to have a series!
Yeah, I think the character would be suited for a series. Maybe if the movie isn't a success they could try a TV version on a cable network.

Kilgrave> Joker> any other comic villain.

I'm surprised you guys aren't up in arms about the powerful black man getting the white woman

Two years already. One by one the lock on the rights for the shows is ending.
‘Luke Cage’ & ‘Iron Fist’ Return To Marvel Studios In One Month
In 2018, Netflix began canceling its various Marvel television shows. This began with the cancellation of Iron Fist but was then followed up by the axing of Luke Cage. Daredevil followed soon after with both The Punisher and Jessica Jones both being canceled as well. But after two years, Marvel Studios will be allowed to use the characters again.
What went under the radar until the shows were canceled was a particular clause in the contracts Marvel Studios had with the streaming titan. It essentially said that Marvel Studios would be unable to use characters like Luke Cage and Iron Fist until two years after the cancellation of their respective shows. Now that two-year date is rapidly approaching and both Luke Cage and Iron Fist will be making their way back to the Marvel Studios next month.

She was also in The Fondue (Defenders) with Luke Cage, Iron Fist and Daredevil.
Punisher was so good in Daredevil that he got his own series.

Netflix started off strong with these shows then became too repetitive and boring. Hopefully Disney can bring them back to life.
