So when i was flying back to Tampa from Cleveland after Thanksgiving i was sitting at my gate ready to board and one of the stand by passengers was of Arabic decent. He was waiting and waiting and i saw him getting upset and he was speaking to his buddy, also of Arabic decnt. So, they finally call him and his name was Muhammad!!! WTF?? Now, we made safely but i was a liitle nervous!
Am I racist?
-
maybe he was upset because he had to sit next to a black guy on the plane? i'd be pissed if i had to fly next to someone hollering at the in flight movie whilst eating hot sauce drenched fried chicken
-
Yes you are. So what

What if the arab looked like this?
That i might not have a problem with :o
-
Of course you are. But this is besides the point. In your stated example, you felt prejudice. And it's a good thing.
I always pre-judge those of a Muslamic look. The possibility they're insane is almost 100 percent. After all, Moozies worship a murderous sky god and praise a homicidal, pedophilic "prophet".

I think the way youre posing the question is fundamentally flawed. Are you racist? Do you discriminate? Do you have biases? These all assert that someone is either racist/biased/discriminatory or they are not. Its a very "black and white" way of viewing racism. Instead, one should look at racism/biases/discrimination on a continuum, especially in terms of context. Context is everything!!
In the situation above, you may have reacted in a racist manner, but would you have reacted similarly in a different context? If you saw a muslim person walking down the street, would you have reacted the same way as you did in the airport setting? Probably not. Thus, in some contexts you may be racist, and in other contexts, you are not racist. Thus, its impossible to ask, "Am I racist," as if the answer is always going to be a strict dichotomy (yes or no).
So, I think the answer to your question is, "Yes, in some contexts I may be racist, and in other contexts, I am not racist." Again, its on a continuum.

Mike would hit that thick chick like tomorrow wasn't coming.

I dont discriminate at all. Prejudge, yes. We all do. When i see a white dude in a camo hat, jeans and boots i assume he is a hillbilly. I dont hate arabs but black folks dont blow shit up. White boys shoot schools up.

You totally missed the point of my post. Again, whatever word you want to use (bias, racism, discrimination, prejudge), it's all about a continuum. Every time you see a Muslim, do you think they are going to blow something up? Or is it only in certain contexts (at the airport)? Every time you see a white boy walking down the street, do you think they are going to shoot up a school? Or is it only when certain factors are observed? I think if you really reflected on your self, you would realize that even your prejudgments are determined by the context and its hardly "black and white."

No your not.
If you watch tv at all or spend a decent amount of time on the internet you are inundated with media surrounding radical muslims.
We've seen very violent images over and over again leading to ptsd. No matter how much we try to repress those images if we see someone that looks like the people that committed the terrorist/violent acts, those feelings can rise to the surface.

Al Nursra... (African arm of Islamic terrorism, aligned with IS)
You must be fairly sheltered if you are never around muslims who are normal. They make up around 1/6th of the world's population; majority here do not wear full garb, many doctors are muslims and I have debated some who took the piss about the whole issue (he said dying to fuck 72 virgins would be a bloody mess).
I dislike people who don't culturally assimilate AT ALL. Ie no attempt at learning language, respecting laws, interacting with locals - especially if it means openly opposing culture of country YOU moved to.

Racist or realist?
The media will decide this for you. Don't be surprised if they turn the mirror back on you.

It's irrational to fear every male who looks Arabic.
Hitler had more people killed and no one looks at Germans through jaundiced eyes.
-
The term racist is so overused and given so many definitions it's practically worthless.
Makes me sick as to what is considered racism these days, makes me want to identify as a racist as opposed to those disgusting antiracists.

People fell for political correctness and refused to use their brains. People shouldn't be able to stop polite discussion simply by claiming you're a racist, homophobic, anti-Semite, Jihadist, etc... The problem is a lot of people are fucking idiots and only discuss shit to feel smart or advance their agenda. Someone sincerely interested in learning or improving themselves through discussion isn't afraid to hear opposing viewpoints.

Not in the situation he described. Have you ever been around a combat vet that fought in Iraq or Afghan? How about people near the Boston bombing or the Word Trade Center?

The madness is never gonna end. Why do all these stupid twats think that looks good?
Just proves what stupid twats they really are. Fuck man, so stupid that trend...

The media in general mix up racialism and racism.
One is that we are different (the former), the other is that we are different with an implication of superiority/inferiority (the latter)
-
Wow. You and fortress should have a party and not invite people.
Don't play at being this ignorant. If you truly are such a simpleton as to not have understood what I was saying, then by all means, the playground is yours.

I seriously have no idea why anyone thinks that looks good.
People get very weird.

I don't buy the idea of the entire US having PTSD, sorry. It's not a matter of being insensitive towards those legitimately suffering but a lot of people were racist as all shit before anything happened.
-

The media also mixes in culture and religion into "race". If you criticize a culture you're a racist, which I consider illogical.
The other day I read about an org fighting for womens rights in the ME. The leftist antiracist considered this org racist because the womens rights advocates were white! "What do you know about oppression, you white racists!"
