Considering most bodybuilders are incapable of work, let alone work that can tax them physically, what is a blue collar bodybuilder?
Are there white collar bodybuilders? Pink collared?

Shelby Starnes and John Meadows host Blue Collar Muscle. What makes them blue collar. I also heard Evan Centopani is a blue collar bodybuilder. Usually those who say they are blue collar are from big cities and say they got their work ethic to go to the gym and diet from their respective environments and that they mean business and take no crap.

I should have said that it seems the average bodybuilder of today is incapable of work or has no desire to work. I suppose it would be hard to remain fully employed when one has to update social media accounts for every waking moment and eat every two hours.
Do people actually believe Ronnie Coleman was actually on the beat, out and about, working law enforcement while risking his Olympia prep and that he was not given special treatment by his department to have as little work as possible, so as not to interfere? :)

Sadly with so many young bucks tethered to social media outlets, it's an effective way to market and make $$.
Rich Piana has posted extensively on this and he seems to understand it well.
While that's our current reality, I don't condone it or get into it .
Before I quit judging, I was usually the only judge on the panel with a career completely outside of the "fitness industry".
In my opinion, going for the coveted pro card as the main goal , ruined the spirit and blue collar atmosphere.

Not sure what Shelby did for a living before bodybuilding, but John was a project manager at Chase. Far from blue collar.
I think what "blue collar bodybuilding" means guys who depend more on heavy lifting/hard training and drugs vs the genetically gifted like Phil or Dex who can walk into a gym, get a quick pump, and consider it a workout.
Someone like Dorian comes to mind. He used to grind it out at the gym until muscles tore. Branch falls into that category, too.
Guys like Cutler, Gunther, Markus, Dexter, Phil, etc.. would be considered "white collar bodybuilders."
So, as you said, no thing to do with where they grew up or what they do for a living, but how they conduct themselves in the gym.

Today's top (or more likely "bottom") bodybuilders wear a dog collar attached to their master's lead.
Unlike Sipes, who was a man's man (the total opposite of a schmoe's slave) and worked a real job for a living, the majority of what passes for a bodybuilding champion today more than likely sells themselves to sweaty menz that linger by ice machines.

Nasser had a university degree and he was quite rich, so I wouldn't call him blue collar.
