Title: Branded weight lifting shoes
Post by: Red Hook on January 01, 2016, 05:11:28 AM
Why not use/buy regular sneakers on sales or from the outlet mall...    ::)

I am guessing that these are geared toward the cross fit demographic.

With the new fastlift™ shoes, athletes can finish a WOD (workout of the day) without switching footwear.

Sticky™ Compound
Inov-8’s Sticky™ compound has been specially developed using climbing rubber technology. This rubber optimises grip in wet conditions, however the trade-off is it wears down quicker.

I train barefoot but I use some of their products for adventure racing... Never understood the value of fancy footwear to lift weights.

Innov8 shoes are ok for minimalist shoes without that individual toe retardation.

Yeah, that brand got its big push from Crossfit and a few running sites. That being said, that particular model is meant for Olympic Lifting, and there really aren't too many standard shoes that can fit that roll decently(high heel, hard sole), unless you go with leather soled dress shoes or work boots.

Reebok has their Crossfit lifting line. And nike has a line as well. Odd how Reebok endorses Crossfit, yet Phil Heath can't get an sneaker endorsement.

I've got a pair of Olympic lifting shoes specifically for squats. They have just the right amount of heel and they make your feet feel glued to the floor. They're great for their intended purpose plus they make you look hardcorer and badasser and like you know what you're doing. Women can't get enough of them.

I've yet to see a pair of Oly shoes that didn't look 100% like retarded clown shoes. So I am doubting the veracity of your wimmins comment.

Phil Heath brings zero value to branding and marketing...

I would go and sign JJ Watts or Odel Beckahm

Adidas sambas do the job just as good as any other shoe, I've had the same pair for the last 5 years or so and they only cost about £40.

If worn with cut off jean shorts and flanel cut off sleeves, it passes.
Sun glasses to enhance the look could be an added feature as well.

Never know, could make all the difference when the kids are doing lateral raises with 12.5lbs. Perhaps on that given day with the correct angle in the heal, they would knock out some hard core reps with the 15's!?

What about branded workout gear?

Every brand is a brand, lol...

Saw a dipshit yesteray all decked up with his spiderman tights under his shorts, thermo top long sleeve shirt, all for what???

Doing nothing but pussy movements at 0 intensity, oh please!!!

The worst is these morons with skull caps yet everything else is "breathable" wear.

Fuck everyone who wears a skull cap in the gym or a hood. If you're not sweating your balls off with a skull cap you train like a total pussy.

The end.

It's unmanly is my view of it. To put so much attention to gym wear is a complete bitch trait to live by. Especially as they don't train hard, makes it even worse.

By not training hard, I mean people who've been at this for years yet still look like total newbs.

I don't know, you may be right. I personaly put quite some attention to what I wear at the gym (match colors, etc..) and girls seem to like it, but it's not about bitches, I've just set high standarts for myself, kind of a perfectionist/obsessed about the details.

Ok, not saying to purposely wear stuff that does not match. But when I see shoe laces, arm bands with hat color matching, I think "what a fag".

I got one pair of shoes I wear for outside and the gym, if it matches my gym wear, fine, if not, bah... No sweat or stress about it, lol...

I wear these Adidas Adipowers everyday for my type of training which is weightlifting. Snatch, clean & jerks, pulls, squats, etc...
For me these shoes were expensive, but necessary for the type of training that I do. On the flip side, I have multiple friends who walk to the gym in the Jordan's w/matching attire, pull out their Adipowers or Romeaos for 4 sets of squats, and place them back in duffel bag until it's time for legs 6 days later. I can't grasp that concept of tool utilization, but i guess it makes them feel good inside while training...  :-\

I use mine daily for performing certain lifts, and they typically use theirs as conversation pieces once pulled out of their gym bag on leg day.
Prior to weightlifting,  my squats were done in Converse All-stars and basketball shorts...I didn't need $200 lifters with matching neon colored running tights. I understand some people have different needs, and others want to do things just because...which is fine. But spending $200US on a pair of shoes(which forced me to completely relean squatting btw) just to peacock in front of a flock of bros is beyond me.

Are you retarded or do you just play a retard on television, Corky? Paying for Nikes means dropping an extra $30/pair for their marketing costs. No difference than paying $90 for a shiny container of BSN No-Explode. If you're too stupid to realize there's no difference between a product made with a rubber mold constructed by a 10 year old other than a magical swoosh sewn on, you're a fucking moron but I think we already established that.
