flex wheeler
shawn ray
chris cormier
gary strydom
vic richards
mike mentzer
tom platz
kevin leverone
jay cutler
lou ferrigno

-
The Vic Choice is speculation no doubt one of the biggest ever but he never competed so him winning the O is pure speculation at best....
Ferrigno never deserved it.... And as for Gary he had no back at all. He was never in the hun never mind winning the whole thing.
-
chris doesnt belong on that list, neither platz richards cutler and hell no ferringo
out of those 10 names 1.flex and a close second shawn ray

Cutler, Platz,Levrone,Sawn and Fex all should def be on there.
-
milos?
-
I dont think Milos he had no arms. Everything else was awsome though
-
i think all those guys should be on there, maybe not strydom, but platz got second, and Im not saying they have to compete, I was just wondering what you guys thought of the lineup, it would be an exciting show, I feel you couldnt put a top five out of those guys, just too damn hard. I mean my top five would be
flex
shawn ray
kevin leverone
vic richards
platz(just for his insane legs) Mentzer or ferrigno-back for the old school guys
jay cutler
-
I would agree with the expetion of Vic. He never got into true contest shape or even competed to say he could win the O would be possible but cant say it would have happened
-
Platz was cool but his upperbody wasn't big enough.

-
I take out Lou Ferrigno, Gary Strydom, and Chris Cormier. Instead, I would add Lee Labrada, Danny Padilla, and Serge Nubret.
-
I think platz was awesome and truly the master of intense training, his body was great but have u noticed that he looked better when relaxed (at least his upper body anyway), he seemed to lose size and appeal wen he tensed up his upper body??
davie

Ray-Could have won 3 Olympia's-1990, 1994, 1996
Platz-1981, enough said..
Padilla-see Platz, Danny buried Franco
Wheeler-Could've, should've, would've...
Strydom-could have won in 91, even Demillia said this one..

Ray
Wheeler (pre synthol)
Robinson
Labrada
Gaspari
Nubret
Cormier
Taylor (not counting Masters O)
Levrone
Can only think of 9
-
The Masters O was originally created to give Lou Ferrigno a shot at winning an "Olympia" title. Then Robby swooped in and won it. Louie couldn't even win a contest tailor-made for him. LOL.
-
In 81 Padilla & Callender.
-
What??? No Momo?
-
You all seem to be forgetting (or ignoring) Big Paul Dillett, Canada's greatest pro. The man was a genetic freak and a HUGE bodybuilder. At 6'1 275 lbs with a 30 inch waist he was the perfect combination of mass monster size and aesthetic lines. Hell, he didnt even squat and still built the best wheels of any bb over 6 feet (according to flex mag). Insane v-taper, unbelivable size, and awesome vericose veins = uncrowned Mr. Olympia. Sure he couldnt pose, but he towered over everyone.
Even Sergio Olivia himself said that if he could train Dillett for 6 months he would produce an unbeatable champion.
Weider gave him a contract BEFORE he even stepped on a stage!
Come on Lee, you two were roomates: tell everyone how awesome Dillett was
"Just standing there Jurassic Paul is Mr. Olympia. But it's not a standing contest." - Shawn Ray (BFTO 1996)

There were some years that these guys could've legitimately won it. On every other occasion, I'd say the best man won on that given day.
-
what bout muntzer?
Munzer?
I don't think he ever even placed top 10 at the O
E
-
What??? No Momo?
I wanted to put Momo but his career was just too short to be an uncrowned Mr. O
Dillet came to mind also and he's a favorite of mine but i just can't call him an uncrowned Mr. O

The problem with Dillet is that he had a shallow back. Standing next to Dorian it was noticeable.

Haney, yates, coleman, could have lost 2 each during their title runs, and because they dominated their top peak wins it sorta cancelled their less then best showing's.labrada, levrone, ray, taylor, gaspari could have been worthy.Funny how these guy's other than ray cleaned up at the grand prix show's.

...Which begs the question:
Shawn, why did you choose NOT to clean up at the Grand Prix shows? The only other pro shows you ever competed in were the ASC (3x) and the Ironman (2x), and the NOC in your rookie year in 1988. Seriously, you could've racked up so many wins right after the Olympia every year.

Wheeler

Levrone

But why do that when you can skip them and all the trouble of doing them and still end up an ifbb hall of famer and consider one of the best of all time?

His only weakness was back and was noticeable next to anyone over 5'6 ::)

Yo Dan O , I didn't compete for the Money, I competed to try and win the Mr. olympia, when that failed I moved on.
Peace,
Shawn
PS: I'm still in good company since 1984 (22 years combined) there have only been 3 Winners of that show: Haney, Yates & Coleman, which puts me in pretty good company for Losers: Labrada, Gaspari, Wheeler, Levrone, Cormier, Cutler, Jackson, Taylor and more............. :'(
Peace,
S. Ray
