Hmmm, can a driver be charged with a "hit and run?"

No, these people were charged with multiple counts of attempted murder.  You cannot intentionally drive through a crowd of people unless your life is in danger

People were surrounding their car. They must have felt like their life was in danger.

What else were they supposed to do?  ??? ???

Those cars were going at full speed....if the car was stopped and then accelerate, it would be different
