Tom Platz is considered by many to have had the best legs in the history of BB.
Plus, look at the genuine training intensity and classic posing routine, etc.
Did the sport peak over 30 yrs ago? :-\
-
That's not Paul Dillett..
-
He was so out of proportion I thought he looked odd. His legs were so big it made his upper body look small and underdeveloped. Still, great legs.
-
The biggest are not necessarily the best and Platz is a great example of this.
He's the freakiest, indeed, but not the best as they just look ugly. Still, he seems like a totally cool person, just never found anything about his legs appealing.
His intensity was unmatched and who the hell else is ever gonna squat 225 for 10 min straight?
-

-
Smh, it's Iris Kyle hands down.
-
Platz had the most impressive, but Arnold had the best overall IMO.
-
Arent kai's legs bigger than platz....just that kai is big all around and thats why they appear not as big as platz?
-

Exactly! Perfectly proportioned. Perfectly. Not overly developed so he has to waddle around like a fatso. In his era, no one can close to his level of development, insane separation, and calves (especially from the back) that even today few can touch.

Best ever? No way.

Arnold's genetics easily surpass most others'.

Prettiest: Arnold
Freakiest: Platz
Notables: Munzer, Mendenhall, Dorian, Jeff King, Dillet, Demayo, Cutler, Flex Lewis, Schmidt, Luke Wood. There are many not mentioned with great legs.
Ronnie's legs were huge but oddly shaped and his calves ruined it. If he had Calves like Dorian it may have been better but even then the shape of his hamstrings and calves were not ideal.
Luke Wood actually had some pretty freaky legs as well.

That's not Paul Dillett..
:D I swear this still makes me laugh every time Nether!
-
Good! Glad someone is taking note of my efforts.
But on topic: Dillett had complete legs and great calves for a hebr- err "mulatto".
-
Esthetically tom Platz looked awkward from every angle. Weird dude also
-
Not the best ever, but Willie Stallings had very impressive legs

Calves look suspicious.
Might be implants.
Not too bad in the hairline department though.
-
Mattarazzo's calves
-
Munzer's quads
-
^ Would be a nice combination.
Quickly get some DNA...
-
Victor Richard had huge legs; but he never stepped on a pro stage. He was a gym bodybuilder.

+1.
-
Wolf: great quads, zero calves
-
Roland C
-
Capriese Murray, and Desmond Miller. Capriese was the second coming of John Sherman and Desmond had huge quads with a slightly wide waist. Both of them became sick. The Desmond had kidney issues I believe. Capriese did a men's physique contest.

Baitollahs legs, eventhough midget height, were one of the freakiest ever from all angles (front, side and back). Pd for pd I'd say probably the best ever.

Sry, mate.
I'm still with the Matarrazzo / Munzer combo^^

Was gonna say Czuirlock.....never got his fame
Yep. Tons of 90s guys just never got their due. Like Patrick Lynn and Dave Fisher.
-
Was gonna say Czuirlock.....never got his fame
Look good in MM pose, damn good. But his legs always looked a bit rangy and thin in comparison to his upper body. He had long legs for his frame.
Also he didn't maintain momentum, by 2001 (NOC?) he was already finished and looked 60 years old. I don't know the story behind what happened with him though.

I tried it when I was in my 20's. Don't know how many minutes it took, but I felt like I was going to die. Managed to get 55 reps... my best ever with that weight and I was 100% natty at that time.

Samir's abs looking great there. He had good legs too, perfect proportion for his height.

You can close this thread now

But he's a shorty.
Easy to look jacked when not that gifted in the height department.

OMG! Look at the fat schmoe photographer laying on the ground behind him.
Hmmm, I guess every sport has it's share of schmoes. :o

Never got that many but I did manage 42 full reps with 225 back in the day , natty, around 200 lbs.
Best squat workout for me was 315 lbs for 20. Both efforts damn near killed me
-
i still squat heavy at times i still manage 405 for 8-10 ,i still like the leg press for higher reps to build legs too.v squat hammer is great machine as well .i mix it up doing supersets leg press with a db goblet squat with 10 lb plate under feet ..
demayo insane legs top to bottom
platz benchmark
mike francios/dennis newman great legs

This. Since when did most developed equate to being the best. That's not bodybuilding.

Thanks. Youth, determination and half the gym cheering me on really helps. I saw my life pass before my eyes. It was the most physically/mentally demanding thing I've ever done in my life.

Wow, that must have been so cool!
I used to have people watch me as I set up for deads and squats too! Was kinda cool, all the while pretending I don't notice them, lol...

80's pro JJ Marsh had fantastic wheels. He said in a magazine once that his legs really took off when he started squatting 3x/week.

That's '92.
His supposed back injury in the mid (late?) '90s started the slow decline of his legs. If he actually had legs, he probably would have beaten Ronnie in '02.
