I met him a couple times at a BB contest/expo events a few years ago.
Laid back , cool due with a well developed sense of humor.
Plus, he instantly knew I was a total tool and just walked off.
Smart guy... ;) I respect his judgment.

I met him at the Tampa pro show years ago.
But before meeting him, I shared a restroom with him. And while numerous classless dirty athletes and fans pissed and left, Ron took the time to wash hands. I didn't talk to him for another 90 minutes. There's a pic of me and Ron and bob chick on the stage right after show ended. Ron was a classy guy. "I hear you have a site, getbig?" I said. He said yes. Then bob introduced me as 240. He gave me a hug and we posed for pics. Classy guy all the way, even to an Internet troll like me.
-
I got back first from the restroom, as Ron was stopping to talk. I was like 4th row. Some lame photog tried taking the empty center seat. "That's rons seat" came from about ten other photographers. They all had rons back.
It's been 10 or 15 years that many of us have visited getbig. Ron is remarkably consistent in a fitness field that is ever changing. In ten or twenty years, Ron will still be running getbig and it'll be just like today. Ron is consistent like none other.

Ron won't even reply to me via PM. I could just imagine what it would be like if i was at an expo or something, and dared ask him a question in real life. I bet he'd give me the thousand-yard stare, take the diet coke out of my hand and down it, then burp loudly before turning his back on me to mutter a quiet "finish him" to his gang of marauding henchmen.
Hi Ron. Accept me.
-
No, just answer my simple question that i was told by a mod, only he could answer. That will do
Accept me.

I met Ron at the Olympia in 2007. He was cool as was his friend a photographer called Isaac. There was a relatively little known British competitor that year Eddie Abbew(spell) and as I'm Irish and knew who he was Ron let me interview him for his video of the Olympia. I don't the video was used in the end but it was very cool of Ron to that.
I also had a chat with Dave Palumbo who was very friendly.
On a sadder note I also spoke to Derek Anthony at the same Olympia.

LOL! I think we all thought the same thing, Vince is just trolling. Don't take the bait.

I saw Ron at the Olympia press conference back in 08 (the year Dexter won) - all of us were waiting in line to go in and Ron and the other photographers were allowed right inside.
Was really cool to see him in real life after seeing just pics of him on the internet - was like seeing a famous person haha. If I'd seen him later on I would have gone up and said hello but just didn't get the opportunity.

I have met the Grand Puba on several occasions. :)
I was expecting an adonis worthy of being the King of Bodybuilding Media. I could not believe my eyes, as unfortunately the man turned out to be an obese, coke-bottle glasses wearing slob. So very disappointing.
The most exercise Ron gets is likely dragging his fat ass out of bed in the morning.:(

Don't take it personally. He ignores all of us equally.

The guy barely stops traveling. He is always on the road and when he finally touches down, he spends time with his family.

This post merits a lifetime ban. Equal to calling Peter McGough fat.

I once met Ron in the Australian outback. Basile and I were on a hiking trip, and we met Ron in a camping ground. Basile was pouring some MET-RX shakes into crushed ice as I heard a crackling sound. I looked up and I was swooning at the sight. Big Papa Ron was standing a few tents away from us, and he was fixing a sattelite receiver so he could receive the webcast of the 2014 Arnold Classic. Unbeknownst, the three of us were soon after sitting in Ron's tent watching the webcast, drinking chilled protein shakes, and talking about Getbiggers.

Ron, kiwiol, mass04, body88 and I met up one night for some local NPC show in New England. We were supposed to eat at a nice place in the North End, but timing got fucked up and we ended up in the fucking Olive Garden of all places. A bit disappointing, but still a hilarious dinner.
CalvinH also was supposed to drive up, but claimed "sick". oh brother ::)

We all threw in a credit card and picked it out of a bag. I think b88 lost. So my previously frozen chicken and jack daniels were free.

He was filming the event and I was heading over to sign some papers with a new vendor. When I go to events, its to make money...not to ogle at bodybuilders

Hey Guys,
I had the pleasure of meeting Ron at the 2015 Olympia and he was just as nice as could be.
I found him to be very intelligent, friendly, complimentary and not at all arrogant. It was clear to me that he was
very busy so I appreciated him taking the time to speak with me and he even relented to my request for a photo.
