??? ??? ??? ??? i knew one guy years back who did this , hit every gym he could find across the country.... including gold's, pearl's katz's garage gym, most college gyms.on and on....
-
Count me in
Some places I would not want to go
Dlbs and robs gym no thx
The gym where pj Braun trains
The campus gym owned by that lying shit bag the online coach
The alphaelete gym owned by Chris Guzman
-
I would take a monthly long trip to Genova's gym. He has the best inside info on how it's done.
-
Almost every summer I travel to different Universities to see their weight room and athletic facilities. As far as regular commercial gyms, they don't call them "boxes" for nothing.
-
.

All those nice dedicated spots to do my curls in!

Are you saying Goodrum did a gym sauna tour a few years back? ???
-
Great idea, put Destination Dallas on the list

most of the character gyms worth seeing are probably bankrupt. :(
-
Is it anything like the J.Peterman bus tour?
-
That's my plan. Take my restored 66 dodge A100 van and the dogs. I've seen gyms all over the US. But not in one cross country dedicated trip.
Here's some favs.
Quads Chicago
Golds Orlando.
Golds mountain View CA hell I used to work there.
San Jose Golds the old one when Scott Wilson owned it. I have old b n w pix somewhere.
Venice Golds
Vinces gym
Fords Gym Madison Wisconsin
Really cool old school gym in Shasta CA. can't remember the name.
Powerhouse Detroit but it may have closed.
Manions was the shit.
How about the old golds when Rick Stephenson owned it in San Diego? I think it changed to a worlds later. I used to go there before it expanded. It was in the same place but smaller space.
Been to hundreds I think over the last 35 years.
I really don't know what all the fuss is about powerhouse Tampa. I thought it was way hyped.
As a teen early it was so cool back then with all the old school gyms in every town. They're mostly all gone now.

I've worked out at strong shapely
Great gym mirrors on the ceiling!Great idea and I've done mini versions of that.
Strong and Shapely Gym in Rutherford NJ, run by Bob Bonham is said to be the best equipped gym in existence.
I've never been there myself, but plenty of meathedz say it's awesome.
Powerstation in Middletown , Ohio run my masters 60 nationals champ Mike Ferguson is incredible.
Hardcore to the max , but extremely clean, well lit and very well equipped.
Powerhouse on Kennedy Blvd in Tampa, FL is awesome.
A good idea is to pick out a certain place and do a small vacation working out there.
That way you really get a good feel for the place.
For us gym rat meathedz, it's a cool experience.
-
I think it'd be a more personal experience to go around to all the old gyms I myself worked out at for any significant length of time, going back to the old high school football weight room under the bleachers. Sadly, I'm not sure how many would still be around. At least Golds Venice is still there.
-
I remember going on vacation in cancun 30 years ago n working out in this local rat hole. Had a great time.

yes, i guess we would need a time machine to make this truly great...a lot of my favorite gyms down through the years are long closed, eskimo's gym in allentown, serge's gym in quakertown, olympic fitness center city allentown, body factory allentown, fitness america whitehall, exertec allentown and on and on... anyone ever hit any of the above. ??? ??? ???

I lived in SD for 10 years. Rick is still there and he has a few partners. World Gym is the best equipped gym in San Diego... best hardcore atmosphere as well. It can be distracting with all chicks around, plenty of attractive Milfs and Gilfs. Finding a parking spot at 5-7pm is almost impossible.

What was the name of that gym down in Wildwood NJ, I think maybe owned by John Kemper?
I went down to the shore one time and remember there were some rusty tools including a saw left right under the pull up bar attached to the wall.

No, I was confused. It was Atilis Gym. Don't want to cast aspersions on Diamond or Kempers about the rusty saw and stuff. Atilis Gym.

probably rusty from being so close to the ocean, salt plays havoc with metal.
-
would also like to visit coach hung's gym(aka musclecentre) in taiwan, seems like a nice fella and we can do a thumbs up selfie in front of the 2016 IFBB calender before he introduces me to some hot asian chicks

Dumbbells up to 200lbs
Original nautilus pullover machine
Original 4 way neck machine
Icarian lateral machine
It's the super gym

That was my guess too. Now explain why it was left along with a bunch of other tools in the middle of the day under the pull-up bar with no workman in sight.

no mutant brother there... ;D ;D ;D

What do u mean by Icarian lateral? I had a deal on one a while back but couldn't come to an agreement. Do u mean the standing dual lateral?

I saw the standing one in a vid from that place. The only advantage over a DB raise I see, it that it keeps tension on your delts during the lower part of the movement.

yeah the standing lateral machine
It's one of my favorite machines
U can even turn your body to do front and rear raises

yeah. One slipped thru my fingers recently. Mint. I know the Canadian company copied their design pretty much. They have the Atlantis one in golds Orlando. Really nice
