Why is the victim being arrested for disarming a robber?
-
Haha, love it. Stupid asshole got what he deserved.
Too bad there's no live leak vid for this one. Stupid animals.
-
Unsure of the neighborhood. Might be just past Crown heights.

Teen was charged with unarmed robbery...
-
Two fucking idiots. I'm sure the shoes were got from a legit source, I mean, why not have them at your store. And other than dress shoes, who the fuck pays $490 for a pair of sneakers?

Well played, captain!

Why is the victim being arrested for disarming a robber?
AND also being charged with attempted murder?
Thats unjust.

I don't even own a pair, fuck paying $490 for any shoe.
More money than f'in brains to pay that much.

That'll encourage more people to commit armed robbery.

Ban Air Jordans.

You don't own a pair of dress shoes? What if you have to go to a job interview, wedding, funeral, or to a nice restaurant?

I got sneakers that can pass with anything.
I don't do weddings, never been to a funeral and don't care much for fancy restaurants.

Does this make the thief a human slot machine?

This joke implies that the reader will know the euphemism "One Armed Bandit." IMHO, that IQ expectation is at least two standard deviations above the norm. Please simplify your comments to increase your LIKES.
WOOOOSSHH!

Hand up! Don't shoot!

Canarsie is down near Jamaica bay, bordered by Flatbush, Flatlands, Brownsville, ENY. Crown Heights is a bit NW of it, it's one of those old Black/Jewish/Italian neighbourhoods that's gone Black and Caribbean the last 30 years or so. Victim looks and sounds Haitian from the name, family interviews, and prep walk. The family seems middle class from general looks and dialect. Robber was a skinny black dude.
Shame, but the robbed fellow has a tough road to hoe, this could go either way depending on who gets picked from that area. Also not sure why we're spending to try and reattach that arm, the kid should have to deal with it.

Video of robbery, from :50 seconds on, pay attention to the top right particularity -
.
Video that shows the arm, and mess -

Dumb move on the drivers part. Ruined his life.

The AfroCaribbean neighborhoods can get pretty rough. I lived in Crown Heights for a while but am not expert on the area.

I'm delighted the victim chose to run down the greasy shoe-man. That he's being charged with anything is a damn shame.
Better, Van Avenger should have driven back and forth several times over the greasy shoe-man's battered body. Permanently imprinted the brand of tire onto his face.
-
At least the kid can say he was a part of "Hands Across America".

Still a dumb move on the drivers part. He should have exercised better restraint. Granted, he was probably fuming, but the consequences will most likely not be worth it.
-
He fucked homie up in a huge way.
Next time he`ll buy his own shoes along with one fucking glove! ;D
-
Lets hope this kid gets Harley to fight his case and take this driver for everything hes got.

Assuming the kid had a gun, didn't the driver do the community a service with an armed robber on the loose? Realistically the kid was going to shoot/kill the man over the shoes, the way it plays out on video is and looks horrible but in hindsight the guy was held up at gun point and was probably still thinking he could get shot.
If the driver had a ccw and shot and killed the kid after he left the car would he still be charged for murder?
-
He shouldn`t be out robbing people.......some people will fucking kill your ass for that type of shit.
He`s lucky he is still alive.

At the end of the first video you can see the robber running down the street missing his arm. Bizarre
-
Just a tad excessive and pretty fucking gross.
The kid should have gone to the gym instead.

Sad that a generation is growing up thinking it's worth the potential prison time/loss of life (or in this case an arm) for a pair of shoes that will impress people in his neighbor that don't matter. Or probably in this case people who would likely rob him for those same shoes.
The good news is if he lives he will likely receive lifetime ssi disability checks, that's a win.

This whole thing could have been avoided if the guy sold the shoes on eBay.

HAHAHA HA
100% correct!

The video doesn't tell the whole story. Don't judge this guy until you hear about how he takes meds for ADHD and bi-polar disorder.

Well, the video shows the kid crossing the street and the driver driving away. So, at that point, it seems like the driver was not an imminent danger.
The question about doing the community a service is an ethical dilemma. Was it right to run the robber over for the good of society? Maybe, maybe not.
My argument is more from a legal perspective. The driver is now being charged with attempted murder. He will most likely be convicted and spend a few years in jail. If he has a wife and kid, who will care for them? After he is released from prison, he will have criminal record for attempted murder. Good luck finding a job. From this perspective, stupid move and he screwed up the rest of his life.
