from a news article today:
"Clinton’s commitment to move so quickly on immigration reform, which last failed to clear Congress in 2013, was news to immigration advocates, who had not heard it from her before. And it stood in contrast to opponent Bernie Sanders, who faced the same “100 days” question not even an hour earlier, and said: “I’m not a dictator here. It has to do with a little bit of cooperation from the Congress. But, it is a major priority when you have 11 million people living in the shadows. I think we owe it to them to move as expeditiously as we can.”
WTF!!!!!!we 'owe' them? we owe them NOTHING! they owe America!
talk about being FUNDAMENTALLY wrong...this kind of talk shows the thinking of these libtard traitor idiots.
'America owes these millions of illegals who came here illegally and now are making demands of us' .....seriously wtf

I heard him say it while watching part of their town hall. Outrageous. We owe them an escort back to their own country.

I remember Trump talking about the Syrian refugees this summer. "We HAVE to take them in..."
Anyone else remember that?

I wouldn't be surprised if no one remembers that. I also wouldn't be surprised if he never said that as i would be just as NOT surprised that he did.
Maybe you can post up a link where he doesn't say that?

yeah that's fucking crazy. Why don't they just come out say what they (BOTH PARTIES) really intend to do about immigration, which is NOTHING!

The Republican Frontrunner's own words from last year.
The United States should take in some refugees from Syria, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump said Tuesday night.
"I hate the concept of it, but on a humanitarian basis, you have to," Trump said in his first Fox News appearance in two weeks, appearing on "The O'Reilly Factor."
"This was started by President Obama when he didn't go in and do the job he should have when he drew the line in the sand, which turned out to be a very artificial line," Trump said in reference to Obama's red-line warning to Syrian leader Bashar Assad in 2013. "But you know, it's living in hell in Syria. There's no question about it. They're living in hell, and something has to be done."
Asked if he would have removed Assad, Trump said "something should have happened" after it was revealed that he used sarin gas on his own people.
"Probably, in retrospect, they should have gone in and done something with Assad. But you know, Assad is not our biggest problem because Assad and ISIS are actually fighting," Trump explained. "So now what we're doing is we're fighting ISIS and ISIS wants to fight Assad. Some people could say, 'Why don't you just let them fight out and you take out the remnants?'"

And there is the board's biggest liberal trying to give another liberal cover. Again. The issue was Bernie Sanders, not Donald Trump.
-
We owe them a ticket home...they get the silver (ticket) or the lead.
-
Send them back and when you can't afford groceries because produce is 4 times higher, don't blame Obama.
Oh wait. That will be Obama's fault too.
-
He should be made to explain what he means. All of them should be made to explain, because none but Trump seem to have a clue on the issue.
And for equal time: WHO is it Cruz feels "we owe" when he signs on to replace Americans at all levels of business? WHO do "we owe" when Rubio and Schumer team up to write their own rules at our expense?
They're all doing the same thing by being so "generous" when it comes to our border, and most will out-and-out LIE about it.
Fact is, we don't "owe" anyone shit, and the politicians need to fuck off.
-
No.. we don't "owe" anyone anything.
That said, why is it so difficult in the US to obtain citizenship if you are an immigrant.
It IS a long and drawn out process with way too much bureaucracy. It shouldn't be years and years and years.

my point is that both the dem and republican frontrunners are bedwetting softies when it comes to illegals and "refugees".

Exactly. I also think Mexico is at fault for a lot of it for not providing their citizens a proper pathway for the paperwork needed for entering the country and obtaining citizenship.

Why? It should not be easy to become a US citizen. The applicant should have skill that will benefit the country.

People do have skills and it takes ages either way.
There is no skill base that determines the length of the process. It's simply a completely broken archaic process. I can get TSA Pre-checked and validated in 30 days and it takes 7 years + for immigrants to become legal? That makes zero sense.
Also, what is deemed to benefit the country?
These illegals that are picking lettuce are benefiting the country by enabling low prices on produce and a host of other things. It's not completely different than buying something from China. Cheap labor helps us all.
Not saying it's right, but it's a reality of the world around us.

Fact is, a person can enter this country and do what he or she will with very little risk of running aground with the authorities. That is the reality.

To bad no one has a rights to come to America. I have a friend from England who just became a citizen, it didn't take him 7 years. Once he decided to do it was done in 6 months.
Cheap labor, well that because Americans think they are to good to do good to do such a menial task. Maybe in the .gov checks stopped coming a bunch of unskilled Americans could get out there and do it. Yeah then all the arguments about not earning a living wage, well the Mexicans seem to make do.

The whole idea IMO is for people to be able to live from their work. If people can't do that, then WTF exactly are we doing? What's the point?
The fact is that lesser cultures are exploding in population, and that is what presents the threat at hand. Life is cheap on this planet and it will be treated accordingly, unless someone (hint: us) leads the way out.
So it becomes a battle to either show the rest how it's done and lead them on the path -- or give in to the bedlam through open borders, cheap human life and devalued effort.
Which will it be?

Was your friend sponsored by a company? That often shortens the process drastically.
I know a lot of people who have come to the US on student Visas and it truly took years to become "legal"
Well, the issue is that US citizens are subject to a labor rate. Now, if you completely changed the idea of minimum wage and allowed for US citizens to work for much much much lower wages, then yes, those people would be able to do the menial shit jobs, but those are laws that are extremely unlikely to be repealed anytime soon.
So we deal with what we have.
Cheap illegal workers coming over to do better than they would at home and it becomes a win win situation.
The illegals aren't taking anyones jobs that would work those jobs in the first place.
Now the migration of jobs across to texas. Well, that's not good, but has been on-going since 1996 or so. NAFTA is 20 years old now.
Also, let's keep in mind that many of the jobs have come back from that initial send off as the product and reliability that came from Mexico was much lower and people stopped buying the products.
I expect Carrier Heating and Air will be returning before too long as their product will start to suffer.
Sending manufacturing and off-shoring other services is hardly new. It was tried in the 80s, 90s, 2000s... It typically (not always) returns.

So what are you saying about work? That all work is equal? That the skill set of scanning bar codes at a grocery store is on par with a brain surgeon? You are paid for what you skill set brings not if you can live on said wage, that is the persons problem.
The US does not lead anyone one on a path, .gov throws money at it and hopes everything works out. The problem is free money makes people lazy, they stop doing things like growing food, and in a few generations they no longer know how.
About every 30 years or so a good old fashioned world war would kick off and cull the population, the human race hasn't had one since the 40's.

So we have a situation where, Americans could do the job, but because of .gov over reach they would have to be paid to much, on the other hand we let illegals do it. Or they collect a .gov check and do not work at all. Seems to me this country needs a reset.

It is possible.
I'm just tossing out the issues we have. I don't have a complete fix myself, but I do have ideas.

Look at what we have, an avowed socialist running for the highest office in this country, and generation nothing all frothing at the mouth for him. When I was in my 20's a socialist would have about as much chance or even being in the discussion as a snowball on a 100 degree day. It's a cultural shift, people think they are owed something simply because they won the conception lottery and were born in the US, and .gov is more than happy to oblige with "free stuff". Hard work is no longer valued, anyone who has done well did so by exploiting the poor, and country run by people who never worked an honest day in their lives.
-

What I'm saying about work, is that it can and will be cheapened to a point that it becomes little more than slavery. All work except that of an idle billionaire. One thing WITHOUT QUESTION that allows for it to occur, is uncontrolled growth in population.
With open borders, we get dragged right into the mess. The UK gets dragged right into the mess. All good countries -- THE ONLY hope for the future of this planet -- get dragged into the mess.
Easy way for you to make sense of it, is this: uncontrolled population in large % part of planet = CLOSED borders, here. Otherwise us = lose.
And yes, of course, it is partly (a large part) about money and standard of living. People only have their one life to live, and I'd like someone to explain to me why an American needs to take the impact of the third-world's mistakes.
Let us makes ourselves as strong as possible, let the lesser countries follow our lead or be eventually overturned by their own people.

This is simply my opinion, but the reason .gov allows it, is to flood the country with people that have no allegiance to said country. There votes can be bought with "free stuff", and soon the country has lost it's identity. Make it much easier to usher in a world government.
-
Not just your opinion. "They" have wanted to get rid of our national identity for years. The brits are gone...all of Europe is gone. You have the Chinese, us and the Russians. They hate our Constitution, they hate the fact that most Americans hate the UN...they hate our Bill of Rights. In England, they arrest you for social media posts.
-
Kazan and HH6, I completely agree that something much worse is intended by at least a few of the people making these decisions. All the more reason to give ZERO ground on the immigration issue. We've got decades of mess to try to catch up on as it is.

My question is whether this is a left / right issue... Seems to me that plenty of people on the right want to take your freedom and security (See these recent statements about your privacy on your phone and Apple et al) and plenty of people on the left who want to do the same thing.
I'm saying that this is a concerted collusive effort by more than just one side to attempt to override the belief in the United States.

Left, right they are equally worthless, you are correct the country does not get this fucked up by one party. They would be voted out of power and not be able to further their agenda. There is very little that separates the 2 parties these days, sociopaths who think they know better how to live your life than you do.

I am convinced there's something to this, and the two-party thing is ideal to run the game on us.

Of course RNC and DNC have monopolized the election process. You don't see any 3rd parties getting any debate coverage, or air time on the networks. You get presented with 2 options, pick one or don't vote, either way they win and America looses. I refuse to believe this is best a country of 320 million people has to offer as our leader.

The media is right up to their ears in it. So few people controlling all of it, and they meet behind closed doors. That is nothing less than dangerous.
