He referred to them twice, and the second time nearly included a nod and wink.

Trump is the dude with a hot chick friend he's dying to get with... and he's TRYING to piss off his girlfriend so she'll dump him.

Trump is the dude with a yearning to start his own business, but FIRST he wants to get fired so he can get some unemployment benefits.

It's like he picks up the mic daily and TRIES to f**k this up... and the GOP field is so thin, and the voters are so enamored with his celebrity, that he just cannot screw it up, no matter how hard he tries.

"I love the poorly educated" is actually a hilarious quote. There's so much tongue and cheek, wink wink humor locked inside those words that the only people who get it are the ones who support Trump in the first place.

You're kinda pushing the envelope with the whole "celebrity" thing.
According to your logic, Kanye will win in 2020

obama ran on a nearly identical platform in 2008.   His "change you can believe in" was this vague, anti-establishment, populist platform that really didn't stand for anything.

People want to be a part of something.  They want to feel connected and trump lets them connect their tv watching familiarity with this big political movement.  "I had trump's back from day one!" and other nonsense.. even if they have no clue about his political positions or plans.

Trumps' lines of "we will be winners" and 'we will be great" are very muddy and vague, and let everyone assign their own value to it... and people do exactly that.

Trump is a liberal that embraced the populist anti-obama movement.  Repubs will regret him for a decade.  He's not a conservative, he's not professional.  He's an angry tv star and a brilliant marketer.

I don't disagree with the celebrity factor. Trump is an iconic brand synonymous with wealth and luxury, like Apple, Nike and Tesla. The leftist media howls about him being a racist but this is a guy we've all watched on TV treat blacks respectfully and fairly so I don't think the media rants have any impact on common Americans of all races, sexes and backgrounds. I have many gay friends who will be voting for Trump, many black friends who will be voting for Trump and many female friends who despite bleeding everywhere will be voting for Trump. That's the power of CELEBRITY.

who was the last presidential candidate who had spontaneous chants of "USA! USA! USA!" break out so frequently during his speeches?

probably GW Bush.

the trump phenomenon in my opinion is the same as the romney phenomenon. The GOP doesn't understand elementary factors required for winning, a result of massive delusion generated by the proprietary echo chamber. Drinking deeply from your own koolaid leads to disaster. "the establishment" is in complete disarray and seeking some sort of doomsday device to halt trump. Romney was supposed to beat obama easy yet he was destroyed in a landslide. Nobody took trump seriously and now it's too late.  The man has no chance of winning a general election but don't tell anyone that until he wins the GOP nomination, then break out the champagne.

Either Hulk Hogan or the Iron Sheik, but for different reasons.

But seriously, building A WALL is the farthest thing from liberal.  Hell, just bringing it up and whipping up the sentiment for it ain't liberal.

but did W get those spontaneous "USA!" chants during his run-of-the-mill stump speech while campaigning for office?

Yes, as a non-American, whenever I hear the "USA! USA!" chant i'm expecting to see Corporal Kirchner come running out to battle Volkoff or the Sheik. (Maybe Trump can arrange that as part of his rallies?)

Hacksaw Jim Duggan brought the chant into wrestling and apparently Reagan is the last one to get it during a campaign

LOL um, maybe YOU had no idea.

Then-Illinois State Senator Barack Obama (D) delivered the keynote address at the Democratic National Convention in 2004.  He was the fresh face of the party, and immediately began running.  Everyone knew it.  Lots of obama threads from 2004 on, here on getbig, saying he would run for prez in 2008.

EVERYONE knew who he was.  Except you, it seems.

I remember watching the convention, shitting all over them.  I remember posting, over and over, that Edwards had a love child that only ann coulter would talk about on Hardball.  I posted it on getbig 6 months before the rest of the world would discuss it.

I remember my politics very closely, coach, even if you do not.   Obama was THE keynote speaker in 2004 and was the presumptive challenger for Clinton overnight.

Pay the fcck attention... or don't.... but telling me what I don't recall about politics isn't a game you want to play, son.   Agree or disagree, I know my shit on this and follow politics closely, even those who disagree with me agree with that.

lol. No shit was I wrong. Holy fuck he threw everything he had a Trump.

I remember a line from The Wire.... when the deputy Rawls tries to get the police superintendent fired... "You made your move too soon..."

Trump has been leaving Rubio alone, and Rubio has left Trump alone, to the point of it being odd.  I think an understanding was in place.

Then I think that wheelchair billionaire met Rubio the other night and offered him a shitload of $ to change his mind... and I think the inept and immature Rubio 'made his move' instead of waiting his turn.

Trump looked shocked as fck when Rubio attacked him nonstop - then Trump tore his ass up.  Rubio looked like a man on a surprise mission, thinking he had some edge and could get a knockout punch.  The audience was DEFINITELY packed with rubio supporters who often blindly hooted and cheered BEFORE rubio even finished his prepared lines.  And his cheerers were way closer to the microphones, any sound guy can listen and tell you that.

Didn't happen.  Drudge has Trump winning at 69% and rubio down at 17%.

Keep in mind, I'm the SINGLE biggest Trump critic on getbig - but I think he won tonight's debate, I think Rubio made his move, and I think he failed to do anything but tread water in a room full of friendlies.   The nomination process is over, some folks just haven't realized it yet ;)

And Kasich defending Trump tonight over and over tells us that others saw it too... bringing OH to the table is just as good as bringing florida ;)

Good point. There was also Barbara Bush and Bush Sr. in attendance. Which I thought was odd because Jeb is out and oldman Bush is halfway dead...Even though it was in Texas, seems odd that they would wheel the old man out to that debate. What's the Bush/Rubio connection?

Seems like the presence of Bush Sr. was to send the warning that the Republican Party was in serious danger of being taken over unless they unite behind an Anybody But Trump candidate.

the audience was VERY pro-Rubio.  They often cheered before he even finished his one-liners.  And they were parked closer to the microphones.  Anytime Trump was continually DROWNED OUT by the audience, which is unacceptable when every word carried so much weight.  It's as if the sound engineer was just raising the volume anytime rubio was getting cheers.  MSNBC just played it again.  The overall audience volume went UP by 25% anytime rubio spoke.

But it wasn't enough.  Rubio isn't ready.  He's not tough yet.  And he hasn't been bloodied, scarred, and come back stronger.  Has to happen to all of us.  Life has to smack you a little before you get tough.  Trump has been smacked.  Rubio has not.  Rubio used a party credit card for a disney trip and was coddled into fixing it.  Was arrested in a park known for sex and was quietly covered up.

Trump has this election sewn up.  It sucks for getbiggers on the political board, they hate him.  I called this shit the MINUTE trump entered the race.  his hatred & celebrity just resonate too much with the base - the nomination was his the moment he announced.

Now, part 2 of this... when he hands the general election to Hilary as planned... i'll be right on that part too ;)

Well, he's made the GOP and their candidates look like idiots - admittedly, not a great stretch. More glaringly, his popularity has shown how dysfunctional the electoral process and politics truly is.

so to summarize - (Trump's liberal history aside) - the next REPUBLICAN nominee has said the following re:

GW Bush
"How did he keep us safe when the WTC came down under his watch?"
"They lied.  They said there were WMDs, there were none.  And they knew there were none."
"Going into Iraq, it may have been the worst decision anybody has made, any president has made, in the history of this country.  That's how bad it is."
"If the president went to the beach, we would have been better off, believe me."

to Jeb: "Your brother and your brother's administration gave us Barack Obama because it was such a disaster those last three months that Abraham Lincoln couldn't have been elected."

John McCain
"He was a war hero because he was captured.  I like people who weren't captured."

Mitt Romney
"I have a Gucci store that's worth more than Romney."
"Mitt Romney was one of the dumbest and worst candidates in the history of Republican politics.  Dope!"
"Romney turned out to be a disaster ... Honestly, if he wanted to support me, I would not accept his support."

Jeb Bush
"Jeb is a sad case.  A total embarrassment to both himself and his family."

Ted (the darling of the right wing base) Cruz
"a world class LIAR" ... "He's the single biggest LIAR I've ever seen."

Marco (the Savior of the GOP) Rubio
"a choke artist" ... "a low-life"

plus, regularly bashing many of Fox News' commentators & contributors (save for Hannity & O'Reilly) including Karl Rove, Charles Krauthammer, Stephen Hayes, George Will & ex-Foxer Glenn Beck etc.

. . . and Donald Trump will be the conservative flag-bearer in the fall?

Imagine how Washington DC is feeling. If Trump becomes President and doesn't get the kind of deals done with Congress, he's going to be calling people out in front of the nation. Those people have to be a little nervous...Trump loves being in front of the TV. I bet he'd come out once a week to talk to the nation and tell the us who is and who isn't getting shit done. The Country will eat it up. He'll turn the Presidency into a reality show...
